Why is my mailbox is "full" at 3% capacity. Please change.
My mailbox is only 3% full, yet I'm told it is full, and mail is stopped. The capacity has been getting smaller and smaller. Why? I'm now down to 6 emails before it refuses to receive any more!! I can't find any "help" that will increase the size of the mailbox. Please help as this is quite silly. cheers! Sandy

If you are just deleting messages and not compacting your folders you have done nothing but mark the messages for deletion and hide them. Compacting removes the messages and frees the disk space.

FYI: Email providers are the ones that set limits on mailbox size, not Thunderbird. Thunderbird just delivers the server message.

Thank you! Things seem to be going OK now cheers! Sandy
People sending me email consistently get the message "child status 100...The e-mail message could not be delivered because the user's mailfolder is full."
I deleted all my emails, uninstalled Thunderbird and re-installed it. I am still getting this message when I send a test message from my yahoo account.
What am I doing wrong?
As stated above to the original thread owner, if you have not Compacted you have not deleted anything. If compacting does not work then talk to your email provider. It is their server refusing your email delivery.
