I had a folder that was its own folder. Now it's a sub-folder. I can only make it a sub-folder of another folder. How to fix this?? I have tried to drag the folder in between other folders, but that does not work...a circle with a line through it shows on the screen. Thanks. TomS Houston

How can I import my intact profile that TB lost if the import dialog doesn't show the hidden /home/linux/.thunderbird folder ? My Nemo is set to & shows it, but I see no way to make that happen in TB running on Linux Mint 20.3 to do the import. Am I missing something ?

Windows 10, Thunderbird 102.9.0. I have a local folder for "Clients". There are subfolders for the individual clients. Within these there are annual subfolders. I move emails to the local client folder, then at the end of the year I move them to the new annual subfolder. I’m looking for a recent email in a local client folder, but all I see are the star and “read” icons – no entries for the various headers. The annual subfolders are fine, location correct etc. The local client folder “Properties” shows no location for the file index, no size, unknown number of messages. The “Repair Folder” option is unavailable (greyed out). Looking in File Explorer (Windows 10) I don’t see any file or .msf file for the local client folder, although there are files and .msf files for the annual subfolders. If I move a new email to the local client folder, it vanishes into the abyss. I ran a surface check on the SSD which showed no problems. HELP, please.

I installed firefox and am trying to open the Vegas World sign in app and it's doing nothing in the tab, it will not come up. I'm so confused and technically challenged

On the Firefox mobile app, when I look at the screen with open page thumbnails, they are blank. And when I tap one of them, I only get a blank page. iPhone SE 2nd gen., iOS 16.3.1

Hello those wiser than me, When my Firefox 110 goes inactive by clicking elsewhere, the only change is that selected elements temporarily de-select and the scrollbar thumb turns color to one almost the same as the track, making it nearly invisible. Is there any way to keep it the same (much darker grey) when it is not the active window with the focus? There are a few themes that don't exhibit this behavior, but I could not find a dark one. My search on the subject yields only webpage design talk or obsolete pre v78 add-ons.

I'm on Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon with FF's built-in dark system theme. Thanks in advance.

In Thunderbird (v. 102.9.0), I have all folders set to the same column structure. I have used the add-on XNote++ for a long time and it used to work fine. Now, however, when I open Thunderbird or even activate the window after coming out of "sleep" mode, either (1) the XNote++ column is moved from the extreme right of the window (where I want it) to the extreme left; or (2) the column disappears altogether. This happens only for the first folder that is active. If I switch to another folder, the columns are correct. So each time I have to go through the process of copying another folder's column structure to the corrupted folder.

I don't know whether this is a result of a new release of Thunderbird or some change in XNote++, but it didn't used to act this way. Any suggestions?

Youtube has this issue the most. On any other browser YouTube works fine; however, on firefox, videos sutter, play at a very low FPS and if I try to interact with the page like pause the video, it takes somewhere between 5 to 20 seconds for the site to respond and actually pause the video.

This happens on other websites as well that have interactive features

Additionally, when on sites like discord or LinkedIn, if a video starts playing and I pause it the audio will continue playing and loop and overlap over itself. The only way it will stop is if I refresh the site.

I have tried updating my video drivers, reinstalling them, changing all the settings possible on my computer to make it work but nothing yet. Thanks for the help.

To clarify what I mean in my title: I've set up a message filter that is supposed to search in the body that contains a word. I know the word is in the body, but yet the filter is not being triggered.

I have tried a different word that has spaces before and after and it seems to work, so I guess that's the problem, but how can I allow thunderbird to work when there's different characters before or after the word also?

Since the days of Go Corp.'s PenPoint and Windows for Pen Computing, I have been accustomed to select text by just dragging the stylus --- that no longer works --- for some reason the stylus has now been dumbed down to be an 11th touch input which scrolls.

Why?

How can I get back the far more expressive behavour of drag-select text with a stylus and using touch when I wish to scroll?

As an FYI, I handed a stylus and my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 (running Windows Build 1703 which predates this change) to a technician at the local Best Buy and they had no problem selecting text --- when I challenged them to select text on a Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 running Windows 11 using the stylus they were unable to to.

Could we please have an option to restore the traditional behaviour?

doesn't seem to work when it is enabled.

My daughter is currently using Yahoo Mail on her Android phone, but keeps/uses only her ATT email address. Her internet provider is Spectrum and her cell phone provider is Verizon.

We attempted to install Thunderbird on her Windows 7 PC (soon to be upgraded to Windows 10). The automatic setup process asks for her email address. We put in the ATT email address. The passwords don't work. We wonder if there is confusion between Thunderbird/Windows/Spectrum/Verizon/Yahoo caused by retaining the ATT email address.

This may just be a misunderstanding in how to set up the thunderbird email. We don't want to change the email address, if at all possible.

I'm trying to migrate a 45 GB profile to a new computer the usual way: I have copied the profile folder, started Thunderbird Profile Manager, created a new profile assigning this folder as the profile folder. I'm working in offline mode. The old PC runs on Windows, the new on Debian Linux.

All of the email addresses show up, but NONE of the emails are displayed. The folders appear as empty. Interestingly enough, I can search among the emails though using Ctrl-K: upon entering a keyword, emails containing it are found and enlisted, however, I cannot read the full email: clicking on them leads to an error message saying email cannot be loaded since I'm working offline. Ctrl-Shift-K does not work.

I have tried the same process on a different PC running on Windows: here at least some of the emails are displayed, but not all of them, although I have followed exactly the same procedure as before, as described above.

I'm out of ideas. What could be the problem?

In the new Thunderbird 112.0 Beta 3, I can't scroll through my Message Filters.

If I click on Tools, then Message Filters, then select the pull down (Filter for:) and select Local Folders, I get no scroll bar. Since the first filter is selected, I can scroll with the arrow keys, BUT, the list does not move at all.

It is list the window is the full size of the list. Shrinking the window down and maximizing it makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Since past few years, I use Firefox for the peace of mind... But never get that.

Every now and then many sites are not supported properly.... And it severely gives now headache....

Thinking to switch to New Web Browser....

Problematic Sites are tons of tons... Here are a few...

1. pCloud 2. Mega 3. Digiboxx 4. OrgPad 5. PhotoADKing 6. Animaker 7. Powtoon 8. SBI ....etc.

Please somebody help reach this message to original developers and not community... I'm fed up of this.

Many developers also fed up of Mozilla... and stay away from updating add-ons or extensions... I literally felt helpless many times...

Apparently last Thunderbird or Windows 10 update added a second duplicate sent file folder.

How do I remove it?

I saved info as an rtf file with images pasted into it. Can not paste in or attach here.

In the last 4 days Firefox is constantly freezing on the Tile Pages of multiple streaming sites. It becomes non-responsive, and won't let me reload or use the Home button. I have tried turning off hardware acceleration and clearing the cache and I still have the same issue.
