I'm using TB 102.9.0 Problem started 2 weeks ago with emails from a single customer. We were successfully sending/receiving emails with attached photos. Then suddenly anytime he sent an email with an attachment (of any kind) the email never showed. Not even the text body. Emails from this account with text body only work fine. Dont know whether to check my email host Earthlink (dont laugh I'm 30+ years loyal to them) or start fishing in TBird. Suppose it could be be one of either Webroot or SpyHunter that suddenly zeroed in on incoming mail. Will contact Earthlink tomorrow. Seems we've checked that emails from that customer with attachments are being received by others. Never had TB issues in about 8 years.

I'm having an issue sending emails from my GoDaddy business email account, which is part of the Microsoft Office Essentials suite from GoDaddy. Specifically, I'm unable to send emails using the Thunderbird desktop application (version 102.9.0). - I can receive emails without any problem, but when I try to send an email, I receive an error message that says:

"Login to account smtp.office365.com" failed. ? - Login to server smtp.office365.com with username my@email.com failed. Retry | Enter New Password | Cancel"

To provide some context, my SMTP server settings are as follows:

SMTP Server Server Name: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Connection Security: STARTTLS Authentication Method: Normal Password Username: my@email.com

I contacted GoDaddy support, and they confirmed that my account and email are functioning correctly. However, the problem persists on the Thunderbird desktop application.

I have successfully set up other email accounts in Thunderbird using Gmail, and they are working fine. So, I suspect that the issue is related to my GoDaddy email account and Thunderbird.

I'm posting this message here in the hope that someone can help me resolve this issue on the Thunderbird desktop application. If anyone has any insights or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

I cannot seem to get auto reply to work. I am running thunderbird on Linux Mint.

First I created a template with a subject of "reply" and a text body of "reply test". The "From:" field defaults to contain my email address and the "To:" field is blank.

I created a filter with 3 actions.

  • Reply with Template: reply
  • Set Priority: High
  • Tag Message: Reply

When I receive an email, the filter does run. The message shows up with the appropriate tag and priority. But the Auto Reply does not return to the sender. I have tried from multiple senders.

Anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong or is this a known bug in Thunderbird on Linux?

We use thunderbird throughout our firm for most of our mail accounts, and quite recently it has been giving us a number of problems (however I do feel that some of these problems are actually problems with our hosting provider), one main recurring problem, that we haven't been able to shake over the last few weeks, is the error message that says that the account is still being processed, this email account cannot receive emails across multiple devices, so this is not rooted to one device, this is occurring over multiple devices, unfortunately the fixes and information online seem to be quite scarce, I am hoping there is a way we can get to the bottom of this issue.

Hello hi ya' doin',

Win10 64x, Thunderbird v102 32x, IMAP.

When I launch thunderbird it takes a long time for the password dialog box to open. Check mail, send mail, indexing, synchronize are sluggish and hang in the activity manager. I have to turn off thunderbird and turn it back on to try to get it to work, and even then if it looks like it's open and ready to go, "determining which messages to index" never goes away in the activity manager. This all started when I updated to v102.

So I uninstalled/reinstalled. 1. Backup profile folder. 2. Uninstall via Settings > apps > uninstall thunderbird. 3. Restart. 4. Reinstall thunderbird 102, check for updates. 5. ESET exclusions. I notice on the IMAP computers, Mozilla Thunderbird Folder is in C: Program Files and Mozilla Maintenance Folder is in C: Program Files(x86). On the POP computer both those folders are in (x86). (I don't understand why one installation is one way and the other installation is the another way. It doesn't seem to me like POP vs IMAP have anything to do how the installer installs. But I'm just a layman.) 6. Restart 7. Launch thunderbird and it opened up with all the IMAP and Local folders. I didn't even need the backed up profiles folder.

It was at least 100% better but still never turned off the "determining which messages to index" thermometer in activity manager. That thermometer is always there stuck at full. That was day before yesterday. Now today when I launch thunderbird it hangs when checking mail and gets stuck trying to bring current the sends/receives/moves/deletes I've done on the iphone. It reaches a point and gets stuck. I turn thunderbird off and back on and it reaches another point and gets stuck. Maybe I should re install again but this time ShiftRightClick the installer and Run as Administrator?

Yes I've seen and tried the advise on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-conversion-google-mail-accounts-oauth20 and also tried thunderbirds debug mode but still: on every start Thb ist asking me in several windows for the google user name and password BUT: the gmail-account and the cardbook extension is working fine. Hello, I am a long time user of Thunderbird and appreciate all the work that is going on to update the software. My simple piece of feedback, purely for your information, is that connecting to the Thunderbird and collecting messages has now become very slow. In the past the process was almost instant, not so now. I am sure that you are aware of this but if not I hope this is useful to you. Keep up the great work. Thank you. Gerry Bird.

I turned on my desktop Mac today after five weeks away. All the folders in my main email inbox on Thunderbird have disappeared and, when I try to send an email I get the following error message: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Request failed; Mailbox unavailable. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

I checked the setting with Thunderbird on my Macbook and there is not problem: all the folders are still there and the server settings are identical on both computers. In addition, I'm not getting any emails in that inbox on my desktop Mac, though on my Macbook they are all coming through fine..

Also, I have several other email inboxes on my Thunderbird and they are all working just fine on my desktop Mac. It's just that one email box on that one computer.

Any solutions, anyone`/

I am using Thunderbird ver. 102.9.0. When i send an email, a copy naturally goes to my Sent folder. Lately, a duplicate also shows up in Trash. But the subject plus to whom sent are in bold type. I can delete these duplicates in the Trash folder.

I have looked at my account settings and nothing there appears to account for this. I would like to eliminate the creation of these duplicates. Any ideas?
