When sending a message in Thunderbird (from my desktop), apparently I can only send one CC and one BCC. The little icons for those (to the right of the "From" line" disappear once I use them one time. This didn't used to be the case. I could send as many of either of these types of copies as I needed.

I had a folder that was its own folder. Now it's a sub-folder. I can only make it a sub-folder of another folder. How to fix this?? I have tried to drag the folder in between other folders, but that does not work...a circle with a line through it shows on the screen. Thanks. TomS Houston

How can I import my intact profile that TB lost if the import dialog doesn't show the hidden /home/linux/.thunderbird folder ? My Nemo is set to & shows it, but I see no way to make that happen in TB running on Linux Mint 20.3 to do the import. Am I missing something ?

Windows 10, Thunderbird 102.9.0. I have a local folder for "Clients". There are subfolders for the individual clients. Within these there are annual subfolders. I move emails to the local client folder, then at the end of the year I move them to the new annual subfolder. I’m looking for a recent email in a local client folder, but all I see are the star and “read” icons – no entries for the various headers. The annual subfolders are fine, location correct etc. The local client folder “Properties” shows no location for the file index, no size, unknown number of messages. The “Repair Folder” option is unavailable (greyed out). Looking in File Explorer (Windows 10) I don’t see any file or .msf file for the local client folder, although there are files and .msf files for the annual subfolders. If I move a new email to the local client folder, it vanishes into the abyss. I ran a surface check on the SSD which showed no problems. HELP, please.

If I select File | Save in Thunderbird when composing a message, where does Thunderbird put the file? The saving notification flashes past too quickly for me to read, and I can't find it in the usual email folders.

A la suite, j'ai constaté que Thunderbird a "dédoublé » cette messagerie (qui contient plusieurs comptes) pour créer séparément un second compte Thunderbird et y recopier -pour partie de son contenu- l'un des comptes existant,, ( certains messages s'affichant tantôt sur les deux comptes, tantôt sur un seul) ; ce qui devenait peu praticable, d'autant que je ne pouvais plus, depuis mon compte habituel, répondre aux messages que je recevais, il fallait que j'initie une réponse sur le compte nouveau dont je me suis alors aperçue qu'il s'agissait d'un compte « bêta ». et, Depuis 48 heures, toutes mes autres messageries usuelles ont disparu de ma messagerie initiale, ; tandis que seule subsiste la messagerie THUNDERBIRD beta – Comment les rétablir ? – Comment supprimer le compte bêta sans rien effacer de mes autres comptes auquel je n'ai plus accès, sachant que j'ai constaté que le contenu de ces comptes existait toujours, puisque en ouvrant ce jour mon ordinateur portable lié à mon ordinateur de bureau par l'abonnement Microsoft 365, je les y ai retrouvés, et, je le suppose, à jour.

Hello, need to automatic delete all mesages older than 30 days. Have filter for that but seems it doesn't work because I still see 369 messages in folder. If I run filter manually, it works and remove old messages fine.

Any idea please? Thank you

I have 2 computers and have Thunderbird on both. On one PC when I delete emails, they go into the Trash folder for that email account, but on the other PC, when I delete an email it goes into the Trash Folder under Local Folders. I must admit that I don't know the purpose of Local Folders, but that's beside the point. I just want deleted emails to go into the Trash folder for the email account in question. These are all POP email accounts.

Well, I created a new website for a specific vendor in my hometown. Despite the storage change (from a shared server to a dedicated one), and the recreation of the e-mails on this new cPanel, with the same settings, I keep getting "This e-mail can't handle encrypted passwords". All settings are correct, with encryption on, but that IMAP error keeps showing...can you help?

Have FOLDERS pane; some have subfolders.

For some reason -- which has never happened before -- copying messages from INBOX or SENT and pasting into one of the subfolders, T'Bird has decided to make all of those messages "subfolder subfolders" (best I can call it, what with the graphic below); i.e., the first message moved over looks fine, but then the subsequent messages all suddenly are listed in this stairstep business.

No. I want each, individual email that I move from INBOX or SENT to remain individual, not chain-linked or whatever it's called.

Why did it decide to do this? How to fix?

I received 3 emails on 16/03/23 which were readable. I need to recheck the information and they have become unreadable and seem to not be related to the original topic. As this involves some payments to Paypal, I would like to be able to resolve the problem. Thank you

Hey folks, I don't know if this is a new feature or whether I've just noticed it now because I'm getting a lot more e-mails from the US East Coast. I'm on US West Coast time. The time of the received emails appear based on the sender's time zone, not the time I actually received the email, in my time zone. Is this a feature? If so, can I modify it to show received time as per the local time? Thanks, Steve

Both Firefox (110.0.1 running as Flatpak) and KDE Settings indicate that Firefox is my default browser (in Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS). Nonetheless, when I click on a hyperlink in a mail in Thunderbird, the link opens in Chromium. Hello, TB saves two copies of each email I send in the Sent folder. This does not happen in the MS365 server that hosts my school emails. How can I get rid of the duplication? thank you.

I just bought a new PC and had Thunderbird (TB) re-installed.

In mail threads in the re-installed TB, the dropdown menu under the More button is now gone, and the Save As option is gone with it. The only two buttons active are Archive and Remove. I used the Save As option to save backup copies of emails outside TB.

Are there any alternative methods to save backup copies of emails outside TB?

I tried the Archive button on one email, then went to TB Menu (upper right corner) and chose Archive/Open/Open Saved Message. This took me to File Explorer, where I was asked to enter a file name. How do I proceed with this option?

I used to be able to use my arrow keys to scroll through email folders (in/out, etc), reading the previews rather than actually opening up the emails themselves. For some reason this no longer works? Instead of remaining in preview, the email open up. Is there a setting I'm missing? Peter

When I try to send email from Thunderbird, it gives "Sending of Message Failed" error. I'm running Windows 7 with Thunderbird 102.9.0 32bit. I tried with a gmail.com and a hotmail.com address, but it gives the same error.

On Windows, I have an Admin account and a User Account. I can login to the Admin account and it'll work fine. It's just a specific Windows user where I have the issue. I tried reinstalling Thunderbird, deleting %APPDATA%/Local/Thunderbird and %APPDATA%/Roaming/Thunderbird, but the issue persists.

Any ideas?

Since the last update of Thunderbird for Linux (upgraded to 102.2.2), my unified folder is now ignoring one of the mailboxes.

The corresponding mailbox still receives e-mails and I can consult them by clicking the mailbox itself, but its messages do not appear in the unified folder, they are not even counted (see attachment) and the quick filters does not return results from that mailbox either.

This is a company mailbox synced with IMAP/SMTP.
