The main taskbar on Thunderbird has disappeared and I can't see any way of restoring it. When i open Thunderbird all that is displayed is side panel showing my email accounts and folders.

Press Alt or F10 to restore the menu bar in case it's hidden.

Then from the main menu bar: View (Alt-V) - Toolbars Check 'Mail Toolbar'.
