If you change your default browser to Firefox on Microsoft Windows 10 or 11, any links you click will automatically open in Firefox.

Make Firefox your default browser in Firefox Settings
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select .Click the menu button
and select .
- In the General panel, find the Startup section.
- If Firefox isn't currently set as your default browser, you'll see the message "Firefox is not your default browser". Click the button to set Firefox as your default.
If Firefox was not able to change your default browser, it'll open the Windows Settings app, with the Default apps panel already open. You'll have to manually update your Windows settings to make Firefox your default browser using the settings below.
Manually change your default browser to Firefox in Windows Settings (Windows 10)
- Click the Windows Start button.
- Type “Default apps” and select .
- Under Web browser, click the browser currently listed.
- Under Choose an app, click Firefox to set it as the default browser.
Manually change your default browser to Firefox in Windows Settings (Windows 11)
- Click the Windows Start button.
- Type “Default apps” and select .
- Select Firefox from the list.
- Under Set default file types or link types, find the Make Firefox your default browser prompt at the top of the window and click .
