Since upgrade to el capitan 10.11.3 firefox pages jerk and jump, no smooth scrolling. What has happened?

Can't scroll up and down. Using a mouse scroll, or grabbing the scroll bar, or using arrow keys, webpages jump around and are impossible to control. Also, filling in any text is jerky too.
