Safari requiring master password to import in Firefox passwords

I'm trying to import all Firefox saved passwords into Safari, and it keeps requiring me to enter my "Firefox master password" which I do not have. Even worse, when I went ahead and assigned a master password, Safari would spit out "master password incorrect" error and wouldn't import the Firefox passwords in. Apple says they don't have any reported problems and told me to ask Firefox. Please help.
