Thunderbird 78.2.1 on MacOS not switching to Dark Mode with System.

I'm running Thunderbird 78.2.1 on an up to date MacOS (10.15.6) system. I can manually change TB to dark or light mode using the theme options in TB. But when I set the system theme to dark or light mode, TB does not change with it. I have TB set to use the default theme currently, but have tried both the dark and light theme with similar results.

Is there a setting I'm supposed to switch somewhere? Or is it a bug?
