History not syncing between iOS and desktop

There are things in the history on my desktop that do not autocomplete on my iPad.

There are things in the history on my iPad that do not appear when I search the history on my desktop.

Both are set to sync history. I've tried unsyncing the iPad browser and re-syncing it, to no avail.

I can even open a page on my iPad and see it in the list of synced tabs on my desktop - but that same page does not appear in the history on the desktop.

p.s. is there any way to *keyword search* the history on iOS? All I seem to be able to do is scroll through the pages by date, from most recent.

p.p.s. is there any way to view my synced bookmarks on the web?
