Can't Move Messages to Trash

I have several accounts working with Thunderbird. All my G-mail accounts operate perfectly. However, a university account (from U Illinois) is giving me problems. I can send and receive e-mail fine with this account, but I'm unable to move any messages to the Trash. Whenever I try, the to-be-deleted message just returns to the In box. The "Trash" folder name is also greyed out and italicized. I called the Tech Help desk at my university, and together, we verified that the Trash function works perfectly in the campus interface version of e-mail, so the problem is definitely with the Thunderbird interface. She walked me through all the steps from this webpage, to delete all the trash folders: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-delete-messages*thunderbird:mac:tb78__;Iw!!DZ3fjg!vY9BO1nZ1euFy0qldXQIcIIw2yoveyYkfVcgzIiM4Jzn_9LbJqlQTOgKn4LkReZk4MQ$ After that, we checked the Trash folders for my G-mail accounts and verified that the Trash folder works on the supported Outlook web app for my U Illinois e-mail account. But the problem still remains with my U Illinois e-mail messages being unable to be moved to Trash. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
