Mentioned as "service"? As soon there is a better alternative, I will switch anyways for that double moral thing is going on here.

Chosen solution

uath method is STAR/TLS. No oAuth Shit involved. Thats exactly what I mean. You have also you hoster, I have mine.

There should be definitely no third party in this party allowed. I just wanna dance only with thunderbird, but no: I'm forced to participate with/to google, through thunderbird. Nevermind what auth type and font family and other shit I'm actually using and how much much helpful this might be, but not for me. And therefore, I dont need "help" with that. I wanna get rid of it, asap. I recommend to save your energy and thank you!

Hello,

You most likely set up a Gmail address. Google uses a new authentication method called OAuth2 to make sure that approved apps (in this case Thunderbird) do not have full control over your Google Account. This authentication method is more secure, and allows you to deny access to your Google Account without changing your password.

Also, not to be condescending, but using google's mailservers will transmit your IP address as well.

Hello, no, sorry. I'm setting up my own POP3 Server, google gmail poopmail - free. And fun fact, everytime I'm creating an emailadress, this google loginpage shows up. -.- I'm in love with evolution these days, I surely slowly reduce the usage of mozilla for this google-calls. Same with Firefox, which is sendig your IP every 30 min by default to google services (safebrowse-"feature", by default) . What is going on there, I can't get it? Nevermind. Thanks for response.

re : this google loginpage shows up. -

It shows up if you are using a Oauth2 as the Authentication Method.

If you do not want to see this then logon to gmail email address webmail account via browser and enabled the 'Less secure apps' option.

Then start to create the new account in Thunderbird. New > Existing Mail Account Enter name, email address and password, select to Remember and click on 'Continue' Thunderbird automatically will set up as IMAP using OAuth2. So you need to fix this. click on 'Configure Manually' and alter the settings, so choosing POP and then reset all the server settings for gmail pop and also change Authentication to Normal Password.

Hey Toad-Hall,

it seems were talking from different things. Maybe you understood, that I want to establish Thunderbird and a gmail, google, or anything account. This is not the case. I'm running a webspace and got my own mailadresses and pop server. So no google, or any third party involved. Clear, so far? :)

My point is, that this is happening by default. So what kind of "workarround" you ever might have, I dont care.

re : I'm running a webspace and got my own mailadresses and pop server. So no google, or any third party involved. If google are asking for a logon then there must be a reason. I've got my own domain name and website and it is hosted by Fasthosts. It is also possible to have your own domain etc and use Google workspace.

But in order to understand what could be going on it would be helpful to say what server you are using. What 'Authentication Method' are you using when you try to create mail account? Normal Password or OAuth2 ? Who hosts your website and email server? In email address what comes after the '@' sign?
