Firefox only opens in background of PC (seen in task manager)

Firefox will only open in the background of my computer no matter how many times I try to open it. I have reinstalled Firefox and deleted and reinstalled its files many times. When I try to open Firefox, my mouse shows that it loads and then it only opens in the background. I have tried safe mode and editing my profiles too.

If you use Webroot security software then look at this thread for possible workarounds for now like to run Firefox in Windows 8 compatibility mode or Firefox 98 Developer Edition.

Have you tried Windows in Safe Mode? Press the Windows Key + R. 

   Type msconfig in the dialog box.
   Select the Boot tab.
   Select the Safe Boot option and click Apply.
   Choose Restart to apply the changes when the System Configuration window pops up.

What version of Windows? What version of Firefox? What security software are you running?
