Opening pdf links in firefox without downloading

Hi,

Till now, in the settings for pdf files i had opted to save files.

So when downloading a PDF file I will be asked where to save the file. If I was opening a URL that ends with .pdf it would simply open in firefox.

However recently this has changed. If I choose save file for a pdf it does not open any URLs that end with .pdf and ask where to save the files.

If I choose open with firefox - the URLs ending with .pdf opens in firefox, but if I want to download a pdf, I am not asked where to save it, it automatically downloads the file and then opens it in a new tab in firefox. My download settings are set to "always ask where to save files."

Earlier I could open URLs in firefox and download files to my preferred destination. Now I can only do one of these.

In other browsers, .pdf links still open and if I want to download pdf I am asked where to save the file. But in firefox this issue has come up in the last few weeks.
