Occasionally all tabs close in Firefox iOS

I use the iOS Firefox app as the primary browser on my iPhone 12. Usually everything works fine and I keep between 3-4 to sometimes 10 or so tabs open for things that I still want to read or get back to. I close Firefox, open it again later, add and close a tab or two and all is well.

However, sometimes (I believe when Firefox is closed, but I'm not 100% sure), when I click on a URL from another app or ask an app to open a web page in my system browser (which have set to Firefox app as the default), it opens the new tab and ALL of my other tabs are lost. They are just closed and there is no way to get them back other than scrolling through all of my history and trying to find the related URLs. If some of the tabs are older, that makes it almost impossible to find because history also includes all of my browsing history form my synced laptop Firefox. Speaking of syncing, you might think that tab syncing between Firefox running on different devices would help. It doesn't, because it appears to sync the new "only 1 tab open" state almost immediately to my other browsers. So if I check the tab history from my laptop, all the older (just closed) tabs are no longer shown in the tab history for my phone.

This is very frustrating and, honestly, about the only reason I would strongly consider leaving Firefox and using a different browser for my phone. As a workaround, I try to bookmark sites and add some to shortcuts, but you shouldn't need to do that for every tab that one just wants to leave open for a few days and get back to.

Anyone have any ideas to help? I regularly update my apps and currently have iOS Firefox version 108.
