Firefox links from Google images open very very slowly, works okay with IE

Google images search page loads okay for the image icons. When I click on an image, the linked page is very slow (5 minutes) to open. I am using Firefox 5.0 with all the latest updates on a Windows 7 system with all updates. Within Firefox, I have the IE Tab add-on which allows me to open the link in a tab rendered by the Internet Explorer engine. This tab will open and load the page correctly at the same time that a native Firefox tab will not.

I use a proxy (Privoxy) to access the internet. If I disable the proxy (direct internet access), then the Firefox tab loads normally. I have tried turning off Privoxy without disabling the proxy and the problem still happens. I have restarted Firefox with all add-ons disabled and restarted the computer, none of which solved the problem. No pages other than Google Images links have the problem.
