When using "send link" why does Yahoo Mail always ask for my password even if I'm already logged in?

It used to be that when I sent a link from Firefox using "send link", it would work fine; a new email page would open up in Yahoo Mail with the link in the body of the email.

Now, and perhaps this is because Yahoo Mail has changed their system, I am asked for my email password even if I am already logged into my email account.

Does Firefox need to update the link used to access one's email account (as found in the Applications section of Options) from this:

http://compose.mail.yahoo.com/?To=%s

to something else?
