Has the rollout of v102.7.1 been paused (again) for some reason, or can I reasonably safely manually update to v102.7.1 by going to Help - About Thunderbird?

I don't want to blow off my bookmarks and other settings, but the system to install firefox app on new samsuung phone is reading "working" when I enter p/w and user, but it ain't allowing it to finish. I went onto the mozilla site and checked my firefox saved bookmarks but the moz. will only show me the dots for my p/w and they are WAY more than what I remember!!!!

  I have icloud so all the macs will show the same p/ws, and there's a big fat Mozilla warning telling me if I want to reset my p/w I will lose bookmarks, settings, etc.
  What is a workaround, so I can actually see my own p/w, or at least change the one Mozilla firefox thinks is the correct one (but isn't!!!)?
   I also have a VPN, which screws up the take a pic of the computer screen to set up computer.  I will go to another computer w.o it and try again, but this is truly overkill (it should have a way to show me my old p/w OR reset w.o killing my bookmarks, settings...)....right?!?!?!!?!

Have successfully installed and used Thunderbird on new desktop computers multiple times, but can't do final step(s) on this one. Mail provider is Gmail, ISP is (Emporia KS) ValuNet Fiber, using Windows 10 Pro, Malwarebytes anti-virus and firewall. Download and installation of latest version of Thunderbird works fine, including automatic recognition of account. As shown by attached images, normal home page is present, except dot beside "Inbox" at extreme upper left keeps on bouncing, and (attached image of) Google sign-in window immediately appears. Use of Google password then results in error messages of "Authentication failure while connecting to server" or "Network Protocol Error". As shown by attached image, SMTP settings are correct. All other Internet (via both WiFi and Ethernet) work fine, as does installation and use of (non-preferred) Outlook mail provider. Troubleshooting efforts of multiple attempts of uninstall and new downloads, obtaining new Google password, manual setting of server settings (including trying POP), and shutdown of Malwarebytes have proven ineffective. ValuNet Fiber ISP has checked incoming service and pronounces it in good order. What am I missing? Thanks.

Just installed Thunderbird on a new Windows 10 PC and exported the Thunderbird Profile from my old Windows 7 PC to a "Thunderbird_profile_backup.zip" file, copying that file to a USB stick for transfer to the new PC. But when Importing that zip file into Thunderbird on the new PC, and only selecting "Mail" to Import, only the top Inbox, Sent, Trash, & Drafts mail folders (with files) transferred - no subfolders with their files. I couldn't find any option to include subfolders during the Export or Import procedure. What could be the problem? (Zip file was less than 2GB)

I am pretty sure my issue is common, but in spite of having googled the internet up and down, and speaking to googles helpdesk, I am very stuck.

My issue: I am trying to migrate my business email to private email

1) I have downloaded the MBOX file with my email 2) I followed the steps to upload the MBOX into the Thunderbird client, succesfully. This needed to be done in the "Local Folder"

--> Doing this I a) lost the inbox/ sent etc folder structure b) not sure whether this is synching into my gmail account online.

Grateful for any advice!

Had to install version 102.7.1 from an old version. Messages (and other data) didn't migrate. Did an Import from prior version. Folders showed existing messages were there. New messages are coming thru fine.

When checking more thoroughly, found messages that I migrated over are either blank or are all the same message.

Tried import of messages only and get an Error Console message (screen shot below).

TIA for ideas of what I might do next????

I recently upgraded from 108.0.2 (64-bit) to 109.01 but it slowed my PC down to the point of uselessness. Nothing else changed application or OS-wise. PC, OS and all Apps are current & up to date. Defrag, Cache Clear a& all similar utilities run on scheduled basis prior to upgrade and everything A-OK.

Is this a Known Issue? If so, is there a fix coming

For an unknown reason my Firefox browser locked up in the middle of a session. A full system re-start failed to fix the problem – all other software Apple Safari, Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop and Microsoft Office etc. continue to work as normal. Both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes full system scans have failed to identify any security issues.

To remove any possibility there was a macOS issue I successfully recovered the operating system from the mac in Recovery mode.

As the Firefox app would still not respond to the normal app opening process I removed the failed app from the mac “Applications” folder using the AppCleaner app and downloaded a new Firefox app file from the Mozilla Firefox site. I then dragged the downloaded file to the mac “Applications” folder and while holding the control key Ejected “Firefox” from the menu - the “Firefox” named disk icon on the mac screen and showing in the Finder “Locations” disappeared. Following this I successfully dragged Firefox from the “Applications” folder to the dock.

When the Firefox icon in the dock or in the Applications folder are selected the error message appears: The application “Firefox.app” can’t be opened. Repeated deletion of the Firefox app from the mac, restarting the mac, re-downloading the Mozilla Firefox app etc. etc. has resulted in the same failure. In the interim I am using Safari for the web but want to resume using Firefox asap due to Safari’s limitations.

Am I missing something in the Firefox installation procedure or there is an unrecognised security bug in the system? This is the first time I have had any issue arise with a Firefox installation process on either Windows or Apple systems.

Grateful for any advice.

firefox change the state of a file from downloaded successfully to failed although the file is downloaded successfully .

I use firefox 109.01 on ubuntu 22.04 (snap package) and i downloaded text file successfully and firefox indicated that the file downloaded successfully and didn't change the location of the file , then after two or three days i opened the downloads in firefox and it showed me that the file is failed download and i have the choice to click on retry download then i checked the file and the file is not corrupted.

so what are the possible reasons for that and how to fix this problem.

I have been running 52.9.1 because it supports all of the add ons I want. v60 also supports the same addons. v68 onwards does not. Most of them have not been replaced (because of removal of APIs for example), and have not been replaced by native Thunderbird options.

The key addons for me are minimize to Tray (yes I know it's available in 102). Security settings from address book (selective encryption - I don't have to globally enable/disable encryption for my S/Mime certs). And Manually sort folders (As I have over 400 and 52.91 does not sort them).

I also use a custom theme. I cannot use dark mode as I'm old and visually impaired and dark themes make stuff impossible for me to read.

I have a dozen email addresses. Each email account has a number of filters which move emails to subfolders on Local Folders. Basically, nothing stays in the inbox of the account.

I use pop for inbound email. I have moved my profile folder and my mail storage off the C:\ drive to simplying restoring of the C:\ drive or reinstsallation of Wiindows. Email and all Mozilla profiles are backed up twice daily using Macrium.

v52.91. is 32bit. I've downloaded the 64 bit v60.9.1

So my question is; Can I install v60 over the top of v52 and expect that Thunderbird will pick up my exiting configuration as it is now and "upgrade" any DBs or profiles or whatever such that I do not have to reconfigure everything?

Given the difference in bitness, is installing v60 going to break the ability to uninstall v52, or will uninstalling v52 after upgrading to v60 break my configuration or lose anything?

FYI: I did try 102 and 68 before asking this question. I also really cannot cope with square tabs. They just look so bad. I've never been able to get any assistance from Reddit regarding customizing the tabs on Thunderbird (or anything else Thunderbird related for that matter).
