On my Android 12 Motorola phone watching YouTube on Firefox for Android, I am seeing captions/subtitles both on the YouTube screen and separate from the YouTube screen overlaying the page. I do not have a caption add-on. I can turn the YouTube screen captions on and off using YouTube Payback Settings, but I cannot see how or where to turn off the captions overlaying (see screenshot) the YouTube web page/Firefox for Android app. Any help would be appreciated.

Streaming video on websites using Firefox or Firefox Nightly like YouTube, Tubi TV etc on my smartphone running on Android plays in a low, sluggish frame rate that can be hard to watch. When using a chromium powered web browser for media consumption like Kiwi Browser, the same video on the same player from the same website plays perfectly smooth every time.

The only extension I have installed on both the Firefox and Firefox Nightly apps on my phone is UBlock Origin.

Does anybody know of any settings or optimizations I can make that can help smooth out video streaming playback on Firefox?

Yeah YouTube is really really jumping every time you go watch something on it doesn't play correctly. I believe it needs to have some work done to it if you could let me know what it needs to have done I thank you very much.

When I play YouTube videos the audio functions but I get a black screen. Tried it with add ons disabled still have problem. Videos play in other android browsers (opera and chrome) and in YouTube app but not in fx.

Cleared cache, cookies, restarted phone, checked for system updates. Not having problem with non YouTube videos.

Firefox for Android has issue while playing media in backgroun, Xperia devices. Using the nightly also, and nothing is changing for the best in the latest upgrades, and this is quite an issue. So, there is so much sound clipping while listening to any kind of Youtube content and it's really annoying. It interacts badly with any stock or third party equalizer or virtualizer (360 sound of Xperia). Xperia 1IV user. Please help! Thank you!

YouTube videos on Firefox Android Stable, Beta, and Nighty, experience significant frame drops when viewing "Stats" both on AVC1 and VP9, and on all resolutions. I checked about:config in both Beta and Nightly and HW acceleration was enabled. This was true for a FRESH install as well. I tried this on other devices and the problem persists. Mull, which is a fork of Fennec, plays the same videos without any problems. Other browsers are also fine.

Tested on Samsung S20 One UI 5.1 (Android 13). Tested on Samsung A13 One UI 5.0 (Android 13). Tested Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (Android 10). Tested on Sony Xperia XZ1 (Android 9).

I am using the latest build of Android on a Pixel 7 phone. My Firefox is up to date per the Google Play store.

When I first started using Firefox for Android, I really liked that it would continue playing my audio without and user interaction. I turn my Bluetooth devices on, and it continued to play audio in Bluetooth device. When I turned it off, it then continued to play on my phone.

Maybe a couple of months ago, I noticed that it would pause my audio when I disconnected my Bluetooth device. So I would then have to open Firefox to resume playback to play on my phone. There were no issues at the time when connecting to a BT device. It would seamlessly play from phone to BT device without me interacting with my device.

Now maybe a couple of weeks ago, audio will now pause in BOTH cases when connecting and disconnecting to / from a BT device. I have to open the browser to start playback again in all cases now.

Is there a way to force it to keep playing when I am connecting or disconnecting from a BT device? Unsure if this is a bug or a setting that I am missing.

On some sites Firefox will not play the embedded videos. For example embedded screencast recordings like those used by employee time management platforms eg time doctor. Not sure of the format maybe webm

In the tabs view, instead of the right preview picture for a website I see a preview picture of another website I recently closed in private browsing, completely ruining the privacy. This has happened many times before.

So i just got back on using firefox then this annoying bug keeps happening which is i cannot play a single video thats in full screen mode even though i already click the expand button, any site from youtube, imdb etc. will not play in full screen.

There always this gray area from top like in the line of the front cam of my phone. Before i can watch videos in full screen but now idk whats happening.

after fast forwarding/rewinding with the drag and seek or double tap feature, the video begins to stutter. it seems like "micro pauses" I have to pause the video for 10-15 seconds and resume or refresh the page to solve the issue.

I'm encountering an issue on Firefox mobile where in-browser video playback only buffers a few minutes of a video file, plays it normally for a few minutes, and then stops and won't load any additional video. Refreshing the page and scrubbing forward on the video to the point I left off will let me continue for the next few minutes but it inevitably stops again after a few more minutes. It's as though Firefox is only willing to buffer a video when the page is first loaded, and it forgets to keep buffering as the video is played through. This is frustrating for short videos where this would need to be done a couple of times, but is untenable for anything longer.

This issue replicates on any streaming website I use the browser for, it happens on multiple different networks, and it not an issue with any other video apps on my device. So I suspect it is locallized to an issue with Firefox mobile. I have tried updating Firefox (running v 110.0.1) but the problem persists

Is there a fix for this? A setting I'm missing somewhere? Maybe is it possible to increase the buffer limit on the mobile app so that it can load a whole video at once, instead of just a small portion of it when the page first loads?

I am using the video background fix addon but whenever i minimize firefox, it will play the current video untill the end and will not autoplay the next one. I have to bring forefox to the screen again and then it starts the video.

On my much older Android device, i am using the same setup and have no problem with autoplaying the next video, even when firefox is minimized. Any suggestions?

I am trying to set my tablet up for use with jpay.com video visits which are live with the prison system in Georgia how do I do that it continuously tells me that the browser is not up to date through Firefox which it is and indeed to download the latest version of their securus vre which I have done. How do I get this to work?

I tried tuning off and on "open links in app". I have the newest firefox nightly app. My Phone is huawei P40 pro.

I cannot view CNBC investing club videos (yes, I'm logged in), in Firefox on Android 13 immediately after yesterday's Android update.

Chrome can view videos perfectly.

Firefox should adjust for the latest Android update.
