I installed the "Google" app and the "Firefox" app. When I used the "Google" app to search for images, I found that I couldn't open the searched websites. I tried to use the Samsung browser or Chrome browser and did not have this problem. I am attempting to set Firefox as my search engine on my Android phones. I have to add Firefox under "Other" as a search engine but it is asking for the "Search String" for Firefox. I am looking for the search string address for Firefox and gives an example using Google. How do I find the Search String for Firefox?

Google has started to put itself in the header of websites when I open Firefox. This started happening about a week ago. I use google drive at work, but have never chosen or selected for Google to do this.

Can't find anything about it, just presumably on browser Firefox. When I accidentally tap "Bing search", it opens up Microsoft Edge, which I don't even have. Deleting Bing as a search engine does nothing. So yeah, please help?

There is no option for me to search through my browser history of bookmarks by selecting search and entering text. The search option does not exist in my browser.

I'm sure I have the latest version and I find no way to solve this.

As the title says, how do I disable firefox suggest in the firefox app on IOS? It suggests websites when typing into the search bar, which I have only ever visited in private browsing and it suggests them, even after clearing private data in the settings.

I'm new to using a smart phone and have downloaded Firefox Mobile onto my Android phone. It works great when searching for a website but I have one that I already know and would like to go directly to it. Unfortunately every time I enter the URL I get a search for the website, not the website itself.

What am I doing wrong?

BTW, I'm not using my phone to post this question but rather my laptop (which I find easier to use). My phone is a Moto G Power (2020) using Android 11 and FF 110.0.1

I'm not very tech savvy and am hoping someone could please explain to me what the roles are of a search engine and a browser on my mobile Android phone. Again, keeping the explanation simple will be most beneficial. Thanks for your help.

how can i find the search box in firefox , or the next best thing. i"m not an expert with computers as i'm 79yrs old & disabled, any help will be a large help. Dennis [email address]

On Firefox 109.1.1 (Build #2015927171), on every website I've visited, when I enter full screen, the Android Navigation Bar hides, as I would expect. But when I leave full screen, the Navigation Bar stays hidden, as if I'm still in full screen, requiring me to swipe up to show it. The app will continue this behavior across multiple tabs and on every website, until the app is force-closed and cache cleared.

Using Firefox 109.1.1 (Build #2015927171) on a Samsung Galaxy S22 Running Android 13 with One UI 5.0. No other browser or app shows this behavior. Attached screenshot shows Nav Bar hidden.

I recall Firefox having an option of not to search yet to go directly to site I wish to click this option yet I cannot find it. Either you have removed it from the options or you have hidden it where someone that has been using the app for years cannot find it hence why I do not like updates

When I search up something for example batman I get it in my native language even though I prefer English and have set my language to English Tell me how to prevent that

The first Tab that pops up upon opening Firefox does not pick up the entire word/subject I am looking for. I use an Ipad/IOS and my search engine is Bing. When I type in the subject I am searching for, only half of the first word is picked up. I have to move to the next open tab to retype the word. It only happens on the first tab. Example: looking for Genealogy. It only picks up “ealogy” the first 3-4 letter ALWAYS MISSING. Can someone help. Thank you, Lynn

1. My seach icon defaults to the dearch bar - before I used to see the Google page with the search window in the center of the webpage - Is there a wau to change my setting to that as a default? 2. Search times on Firefox are taking longer than usual - is there a way to check why and speed this up? In internet speeds are higher than normal so I guess its not related to my internet speed. 3. Cn I talk to a firefox rep?

Hello, I am trying to add the URL https://searx.org/search?q=yellow (omitting: &language=en-US&time_range=None&safesearch=0&categories=science) as my default search engine (when I type in the address bar of a new Firefox tab).

I have tried every combination of removing characters from the search (https://searx.org/search?q= and all the way to just searx.org) in Firefox iOS -> Settings -> Search -> Add Search Engine, I get the response, "Failed Please fill all fields correctly." It only gives two fields: 1) Title (searx) and 2) URL (and I filled many different ways as stated above).

Trying to do this on my Linux Mint desktop on Firefox too and am having even less luck! Seems like I don't even have the option to change my default search engine, or even my New Tabs (only if I open a New Window does it open with https://searx.org). New Tabs is only giving me the option for the MFirefox front page or a blank page (both that automatically search Google from the address bar).

• Even the option of adding a shortcut like "s" to search "searx.org" when I type a query in the address bar is not up for grabs in my Linux issue.

Anyways, if you can help with any of these, that would be great. I couldn't find anyone having issues with adding a search engine to Firefox with similar issues as to mine (I never had crashing issues).

P.S. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/search-searx/ MAY be a valid option, but the fact only 400 people have downloaded it and use it which is very phishy if you ask me. Sure, searx is not too popular, but I am not equipped to test random app (extensions) I find on the Internet. Trying to see if they are connected to searx at all, and I don't personally have the developer knowledge to tell if this is a trustworthy member of the searx community.

Why can’t I turn this off or delete suggested sites? This question has been asked and never responded by you. If I cn’t turn this off, I’m delete it all my Firefox Browsers. It will pain me to do so but,,,,
