I am running TB 102.9.0 and use Provider for Google Calendar to sync my calendar with my other devices. Information that I receive from Google Calendar is correct, but any entry that I add to my computer has been shifting by one hour since daylight savings started. I have checked the timezone settings on my computer and in Google Calendar and all are correct. I tried deleting my Google Calendar subscription from TB and adding it back, but everything is still off by one hour. What more can I try?

When I receive emails with calendar invitations, I can't put the event into my calendar because Thunderbird says that I have "no writable calendar". In the Properties for my Calendar, when I try to associate the Calendar with an email account, I see two, sometimes in the past three, identical email addresses listed, and that's the email address that I need to associate with the Calendar. Sometimes, I just keep trying one after the other until my Calendar becomes writable and I can save the emailed invitation. However, most of the time, no matter what email address (in the Properties list) that I choose, I still get the error that my Calendar is not writable.
I use Thunderbird with Exquilla for Microsoft Exchange. That works fine. Earlier, I had tried Thunderbird with Owl for Microsoft Exchange, which also seemed to work but my office suggested continuing with Exquilla.
Thank you for any assistance with this showstopper problem. Best regards, Damon

Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble adding Google Calendar to Thunderbird. I have added a Google account and all e-mails and some of the calendars have downloaded correctly.
The problem is that I can't see all the Google calendars from within Thunderbird.
In the Calendars section, I click on "+", select "Remote Calendars", enter my Google mail in the user name and I get an incomplete list of calendars (several are missing, including "Finanse", "Imieniny urodzinki", "ProgramyTV").
You can see the differences in the attached screenshots.
How do I correctly synchronize Thunderbird with Google Calendars so that all my calendars are visible? (I do not use any add-ons)

In 2020 I had asked how it's not possible ( and after what, 10yrs of Lightening being in production ) that in 2020 that when a person ( we will call him Bob ) send another person ( we will call her Sally ) an email ( and there are 2 other people on that same email ) that when Sally wants to QUICKLY and EASILY setup a meeting that people from the email from Bob are not just added to that new meeting and you are done?
This should be INCREDIBLY incredibly easy to do: right click --> Convert To..... ----> Event and then when the dialog box pops up, Bob, Sally, and the 2 other people are added to that meeting. Yet, No. Three years later? How can this be ?
In the original post https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1295910 and as commented on by @sfhowes it was suggested to ask on the chat groups. Yep. Did that. Nothing. Again, How can this be?
So, Let's add up the time it takes to do this, the number of clicks, etc,. and it's more than 5 mins just to go back and forth to the original email, copy and past peoples names and put them into the "attendees" dialog box. If I have to do 10 of these a day - and I often do, that's 1hr a day of meeting setup that I could do in literally 1 min if the above functionality worked and which it does on just about EVERY other email platform out there. Add this up, 1hr a day, 20 work days a month that's 20hrs a month * 12 = 240 hrs or TWENTY FOUR DAYS of our lives wasted every month making calendar invites where if right right click --> Convert To..... ----> Event and peoples names and email addresses were already added, this would not be happening.
Is there someone at Modzilla / Thunderbird / Lightening that we can pay to put this functionality which was clearly there in the past back, so we can ALL have 23 days of our life back every year? :))))))))))))))
It's 2023. This functionality is clearly needed to be enabled again.

Events that start late one day and go into the next day past midnight show up on both days, I would love to be able to have it show up only on the first day, like it does on my Google Calendar. Is there a way to fix this? Or a way to set the "beginning of day" to be later like 5AM?

Attempting to import bank holidays from the UK government web site (https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays/england-and-wales.ics) fails with the error code MODIFICATION_FAILED. The description seems irrelevant to import: "If you're seeing this message after snoozing or dismissing a reminder and this is for a calendar you do not want to add or edit events for, you can mark this calendar as read-only to avoid such experience in future. To do so, get to the calendar properties by right-clicking on this calendar in the list in the calendar or task view."
I have successfully imported earlier versions of this file.

I am self-hosting a EteSync server in my home and have the EteSync-Dav software setup on my local machine. When I connect to the calendar link associated with my EteSync account directly and input my credentials it successfully downloads a .ics file. However, when I attempt to connect to my calendar using the exact same link in Thunderbird it results in this error message: "Could not find calendars at this location. Please check your settings." I've gone back through the entire process of setting up my EteSync server and the EteSync-Dav adapter to rule out user-error multiple times and I wanted to check and verify that this wasn't just simply a bug on Thunderbird's side. My hunch has been that this is likely an SSL cert issue, since the EteSync-Dav adapter was setup with an SSL cert, but the cert is installed at the OS level, so I am not sure why this would be the case. I even tried to manually import the cert into Thunderbird with no luck.
Thank you in advance.

I exported three of my calendars from Thunderbird (102.9.0) in .ics format, then opened them on a different computer (same version, just installed).
One of them, the simplest one, which only has recurring whole-day events (I use it for birthdays) imported correctly. The other two both give me the error: "Cannot import from etcetc.ics. There are no importable items in this file".
Opening them in notepad, all three have the following header in common:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Mozilla.org/NONSGML Mozilla Calendar V1.1//EN VERSION:2.0
But then, where the birthdays calendar has the events (BEGIN: VEVENT ...) right away, the other two instead have some extra information like:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Mozilla.org/NONSGML Mozilla Calendar V1.1//EN VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VTIMEZONE TZID:Europe/Berlin BEGIN:DAYLIGHT TZOFFSETFROM:+0100 TZOFFSETTO:+0200 TZNAME:CEST DTSTART:19700329T020000 RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=3;BYDAY=-1SU END:DAYLIGHT BEGIN:STANDARD TZOFFSETFROM:+0200 TZOFFSETTO:+0100 TZNAME:CET DTSTART:19701025T030000 RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=10;BYDAY=-1SU END:STANDARD END:VTIMEZONE
After that, they too have events as expected, so I don't understand why Thunderbird can't import them.
I tried removing these extra lines but nothing changed.
There's quite a lot of history in these calendars and many future events I don't want to either lose or transcribe manually. What can I do to import them properly?

Installed TB, 102.8.0, and all the Calendars I use in my own calendar in Google migrated OK to the TB calendar, except for my wife's calendar, which she shares with me in Google.
TB didn't pick this calendar up to migrate.
Is this a known issue? If not, how can I retrospectively fix this issue?
Thanks, as usual, in advance.

Hi, I have set-up 2 calendars for my 2 email addresses on Thunderbird email client with Provider for Google Calendar, and besides the invites, the calendars work well with 2 way sync, etc.
Problem is when I accept an email invite on Thunderbird from either account it automatically goes to one calendar and not the other and I can't find a way to get it to the proper calendar.
- One calendar is from MS Exchange/Outlook (synced with Thunderbird) where all invites go - One calendar is my Google/GMail calendar (synced with Thunderbird) where invitations do not go Interestingly on my Google Web version (Google Calendar site, not Thunderbird) the invites are properly allotted to the right calendars. So I am guessing it’s my Thunderbird setup.
Have attached 4 screenshots: - Calendars listed - Settings for the MS Exchange calendar - Settings for the Google calendar - Screen where I accept the invite. The invite is sent to the Gmail address and the response is the proper Gmail address. Also something odd about me "not being on the list" shows up whenever I accept from any account.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Some event reminder popups aren't being displayed. There's no apparent reason as to which reminder popups will work properly, although the problem seems to occur mostly with event reminders dated in the future or with reminders that use a custom reminder date/time (e.g. 16 days prior to the event). If I can't depend on the reminder popups then the calendar feature is useless to me.
Also, another slight annoyance is that the events cannot be sort by date, it refuses to sort them in chronological order. FYI...sort by name works.

Hi,
Thanks for your time viewing this question! My name is Jackson, currently hoping to use Thunderbird Calendar. I like the feature of adding an attendee in an event (see picture). However, I failed to search all the event involving a specific attendee. I could search an event by its keyword in title or description, but not attendee (see the picture). I am wondering how to achieve this?
In the attached picture, I hope when I search the name "Attendee 1", there will be a list of events, which contains attendee "Attendee 1". If I put the name "Attendee 1" in event title, or in the notes, there will be search results with events including "Attendee 1".
Best, Jackson
