I recently upgraded my system and, after installing and using Firefox, I notice the Find (Ctrl + F) bar is now at the bottom of the window. Whereas, it was previously at the top (which is more like every other application I use).

After some head scratching and web searches, I remembered I had to fix this issue previously (after a Firefox upgrade some time back). The method to fix it then could be found here: [there a way to put the Find Bar at top] That link is of course to the same question asked 4 years back.

I have once again followed the procedure there explained per: • Access my Firefox profile folder. In my case:

  C:\Users\<Me>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\5ym42ewi.default

• Create folder therein called ‘chrome’ • In that folder create a file called ‘userChrome.css’ • In that file add text:

  .browserContainer > findbar {
    -moz-box-ordinal-group: 0;
  }

However, after doing that (and restarting Firefox), the Find bar stubbornly remains glued to the bottom of the window.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue?

As a separate note to the developers: This issue is long-standing, that a web search reveals is still relevant to many users. Any chance of considering making it a standard option?

I am unable to clear history. when I try, the screen turns gray and nothing pops up or opens. Also, now I am getting a cookie message for gmail and can't sign in. It directs me to sign into Chrome and allow cookies.

I will start by saying that I have not opened my laptop since March of 2022. It is now November. I go to my Firefox browser like I always have in the past. It opens and does an update. It comes back and I notice that my bookmarks bar is gone. I go to the bookmarks tab and all of my bookmarks are gone. I have never had a "Firefox Profile" before until now. I had to create one to try to get help. How can I get those bookmarks back? I tried to use the troubleshooting option that is listed and it did not work for me. I have a very important account that was in my bookmarks that I need access to. Someone HELP?!

I have performed many searchers on the Internet and on this website to locate where the message filters are kept on FF v.98. If I go under the hamburger menu there is no "Tools" entry only "more Tools." If I access Tools on the MenuBar there is no Message Filter entry.

It used to be quite simplye Mozilla needs to follow the lead of smartphones who have the exact same problem with users attempting to find the controls whose locations change in every update. Their solution is a built-in search lookup app. Instead of making users "go hunt" the smartphone app allows the user to ask the app to find what they are looking for. That's why they are called "smartphones."

As for now, I need to know if my version of FF has bugs or if not how to I modify my message filters?

Hi can anyone help on i am trying to tun off disable private window in firefox i know you can do it on windows but can't find how to do it on linux mint. I'm using firefox 98.0.1 (64bit) flatpack 1.0

For over a decade I've used FF, and when I download things (99% of the time from Yahoo) I set FF to "always ask" what to do with downloads. Suddenly that changed and it started downloading everything automatically to the Download Folder.

I went to options and changed everything back to "always ask."

FF does always ask... but... it ALSO still auto downloads to the Downloads Folder now.

And I can't figure out how to stop that.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm no longer able to a particular website: https://www. bdo.com.ph onFfirefox. However, I'm still able to do so on other browsers, specifically Chrome and Edge.

The error message I receive is:

"Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.bdo.com.ph. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

In hidden Taskbar mode (W11), Firefox (98.01) is the only program that will not allow the taskbar to appear when hovering the pointer over the bottom area. All my other programs -and browsers- let the the Taskbar appear normally. What can this be? Thanks very much, Mark

i'm using FF (version 98 at the moment) to print local files. It is key to me to edit header and footer for each print! the only solution i found so far to edit them at all, is to go to about:config and for example search for print.print_headerleft. Besides that is not usable at all, it simply doesn't work! The header and footer remain the same. Please tell me how can i change header and footer?

If you delete the, in my opinion much better "page setup", why don't you include all it's funktions in the new print dialog?

another problem is the size of the new print preview! it's much to small! make it resizeable please.

Or just give us back the "page setup". That would be a big advantage over chrome and edge, which suffer the same printing problems.

Quite à few month ago, after update, my new Firefox for Android does not allow me to access to the print option. I cannot find the page nor the tools options using my mobile. When using edge, chrome or other browser, I still do have this option and therefore able to print pdf copies of the resources I do want to archive. Is it possible to know why these printing options are unaccessible on Firefox using Android ?

Hi, new updates on Version 98.0.1 quite a hassle for me. It auto-download all my files even when I just want to view. Is there any other way to disable this feature? I opened Setting>Download but there is no disable button or checkbox for that. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

my bookmark star has disappeared from the search bar ( along with the little page icon for the more friendly reader version) weirdly when I opened this help page it is present again, but then when I try to reopen another tab it's gone again

been looking for a remedy can't find one that recent doesn't talk about the 3 little dots in the search bar

I have some local services under a local domain name: example.lena

Every time I try to access any of those services that are not in my history, Firefox chooses to search google instead of load up the url, with an option appearing under the toolbar saying: "Did you mean to go to http://example.lena/?

How can I force Firefox to first try the url instead of the google search?

Hi, FF crashed yet again this month for no reason at all. And was unable to restart, said I can open a new profile. I tried signing in, but got "wrong password", so I tried reset. After password reset I lost all of my bookmarks, which I stored for 3 years for work. Thanks to this cr*p of a browser I am now unable to work! Can someone help restoring my profile settings and bookmarks or are they gone forever and I need to change a browser I use for work, because this bullsh*t is unacceptable?

Dear Sir I went to an organization on 21/03/2022 for assistant on an issue, in processing the matter I need to open my yahoo mail box for the relate documents within my mail. A lady who assistant me use her lap top computer to open my mail box - I enter my pass word, then a window camp up to asked if I want to save my pass word (with dark color) or not,(with gray color) I was in a stage of rush I just click on right top Conner 'x' she took her computer to other room ( in where I can not see ) I was too naive and don't know if all of my mails had been read by them? - It is my privacy. When I got home I was worried and at next day I changed my yahoo mail pass word. As my pass words are saved within Firefox when I want to open a site it is auto fill the pass word. 1: Is my pass word will saved in that lady's computer? 2: Although I have changed my yahoo mail pass word is it safe? Can that lady able to get to Firefox to see my saved pass word and open my email box? - explore all my emails? Please help I am really worried. I look forward to hearing form you soon. Thank you.
