Hi, My inbox shows that there are messages in the inbox but it does not display them. Any action on the inbox gives the msg. "The current operation on "inbox" did not succeed. The mail server for account (my Optimum acct) responded: IMAP4 server terminated connection." I can see the messages on the Optimum website.

I forwarded my incoming mail to a Gmail account and can see the incoming msgs there. Also as can see them on my Apple phone.

Upgraded to latest version of Thunderbird. No help. Other folders seem okay. When I look at the ImapMail folder, I see the msf file for INBOX but I do not see a file for the inbox emails.

I am on Windows 11 and use MS Defender for security

Please help - Thunderbird is my workhorse and contains all my important files. Thank you! Carol

Apparently my Firefox account, tuulen@gmail.com, has me as using Windows 10 although I upgraded to Windows 11 last spring and there is no obvious way for me to update that information.

I have a secondary email listed in my Firefox account, email.hp15c@gmail.com, but that secondary email is in need of verification and I am having trouble in getting that done. On my tuulen@gmail.com Gmail account I can send a test message to my email.hp15c@gmail.com Gmail account and can receive it there, but for some unknown reason my attempts to have that same secondary email verified have failed by its not appearing on my Gmail account where I have it listed as a secondary email. I also have spent time in trying find ways to correct this and to contact Google about this, but have not found any such corrective ways and have had no response from Google.

Hello, I'm experiencing a issue with my web server specifically on Firefox, allow me to explain: 1. A user clicks a login button and receives a HTTP 401 response, which the user responds to by entering their credentials in the built-in Firefox browser popup then selecting "Sign In". 2. After authenticating successfully, "Save" is selected when Firefox prompts to save login information for this website. 3. User then navigates to a page outside of the origin/index (ex http://192.168.0.3/foo/bar.html, origin/index being http://192.168.0.3), to which they're prompted to save login information again. Issue here with the second save login prompt.

If in step 3 the user selects "Save" this issue goes away, however, more than one popup for saving user credentials is not a good look. Additionally, the save login popup in step 3 is filled out with bogus user credentials; blank username and "password" as the password.

If "Save" is selected in both steps 2 and 3, about:logins will show two entries: 1. 192.168.0.3 (REALM) 2. 192.168.0.3 Where entry 2 contains the bogus user credentials and entry 1 contains the correct user credentials. In entry 1, the REALM is set as the correct realm I send out during the digest authentication process (per digest auth specification).

During both instances of the save login popup, in the Firefox Browser Console the following is printed: LoginManagerPrompter: Couldn't process supplied URIString: http://192.168.0.3 LoginManagerPrompter.jsm:994:16

As I've mentioned this happens with Firefox and never in Google Chrome (Chrome only has 1 save login popup after the initial authentication).

Would someone be able to shed some light on this behavior? Why is Firefox saving a login with my REALM and another without? Is the failure in LoginManagerPrompter related?

when opening tickets in our helpdesk system, TeamDynamix, the new window opens on the main display. if the Firefox browser is open on another display the new window has empty space on the right and bottom (see attachment). if the Firefox browser is open on the main display or the new window opens on the same display as the Firefox browser there is no empty space. dragging the new window from the main display to the display with the Firefox browser open the empty space disappears and the new window displays correctly.

this only happen recently. with an older version of Firefox (not sure which version), there was no empty space on the new window.

Long tome TB user currently on 102.5.0 under W10. For some time now, when I start TB, about 50% of the time it will report that TB is already running and it won't start. If I go to Task Manager I usually find 6 TB processes running and once I have ended them all, I can then start TB.

Further research shows that after the PC is started there are nearly always a number of TB processes running even though TB has not been started.

A number of questions really: Why are TB process running before it's started? (It's not a 'startup' program) When TB fails with the 'already running' message, why does the 'Close TB' option always fail? ... and overall, how can I get it back to working properly! Thanks

Thunderbird for Mac: 102.5.0 Mac OS: Ventura 13.0.1

On Mac OS 13 (Ventura), Thunderbird lists Mac OS X Address Book but it is empty. On Mac OS 12 (Monterey), Thunderbird can see (under the same entry) all my contacts (iCloud and on my Mac).

On Monterey: Mac OS System Setting: Security & Privacy > Contacts has Thunderbird as item that can receive permission to read the Contacts on the system. On Ventura: Thunderbird is no longer listed on Ventura in the same entry.

I have re-installed Thunderbird after upgrading to Ventura. But that has not helped.

Hi all - downloaded Thunderbird on a new laptop a month ago (specs fairly similar to the Dell Inspiron). Initially messages worked just fine - popups, sounds, the works - but after I added my Gmail a few days after install, every message in my default account is automatically marked as read no matter what settings I tweak. I even added the Mailbox Alert extension hoping it would override the automatic marking as read for the default account, but no luck.

The gmail works just fine - regular sounds and popups for new emails. My default account is a custom domain, but it's a standard IMAP server just like the gmail, so no POP3 shenanigans going on there.

My current Thunderbird version is 102.5.0 64bit, but the problem has been present since 102.4.0 64bit, on W10 Pro.

Ahead of time, I am not using Bitdefender.

Thunderbird 102.5.0, 64 bit, on Win 10 Pro 22H2

I have multiple email accounts in my Thunderbird, and 2 of them have S/MIME certificates. The digital signing of emails by default is enabled in both accounts. The certificates are valid and not expired. Today I had sent a signed email (not encrypted) from one of these two accounts to the other one, and I noticed that the S/MIME icon in the received email has a red exclamation mark. When I click on it, the message box says "Digital Signature Is Not Valid". I did several tests and found, that this only happens when the email contains non-ASCII characters and the encoding changes from "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit" to "Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable".

The easiest way to reproduce is: Send an digitally signed, but not encrypted email from an email account with S/MIME certificate to any other email account. The subject is empty, the email body contains only one single character: "ä". (German Umlaut, a with 2 dots above it). You may also use other characters like "ö, ü, ß, €".

The wrong signature in the received email is noticed not only by Thunderbird, but also by other email software (e.g. Android FairEmail), which means the failure happens during creation of the email in Thunderbird and it's not a decoding problem of Thunderbird.

I also managed somehow to send emails with text that contains these characters and has "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit"; however, these emails are signed correctly.

Please tell me whether I should open a bug report in bugzilla.mozilla.org; I assume that Product="MailNews Core" and Comp="Security: S/MIME" would be the right parameters.

Here's the source of one of the faulty emails (subject="Test", body="ß"). Since the email contains only the public key, it should be no problem to reveal it.

I'm using Firefox 107.0 on macOS 12.6.1 and I'm having weird issues with the displayed font. It appears on the startup screen of Firefox and on websites (see screenshots attached).

The garbled font is called ".SF NS".

I've tried turning the option "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above" on and off without success.

I have also tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration - also without luck.

The issue does **not** appear in safe mode. Unfortunately resetting the theme and disabling all extensions hasn't helped either :(

I have also downloaded and installed a font called "SFNS Display" but the issue persists.

Uninstalling Firefox (with AppCleaner) and reinstalling hasn't fixed the problem.

I don't know what else to try. Can someone help me please? :)

Hi, I needed to clean up my Inbox as there were a few corrupted emails there which couldn't be deleted and prevented the Compacting process. Firstly I created a new temporary folder and moved (dragged) all the good emails to this folder. I then ran a Repair Folder on the Inbox and all the corrupted emails disappeared - all good so far. I then attempted to move all the emails from the temporary folder back into the Inbox folder - this removed all the emails from the temporary folder but nothing appeared in the Inbox. I checked all my other folders and the emails are nowhere to be found. Please advise how I can get all my missing emails back. Thank you

I have downloaded the Portableapps version of Thunderbird and it has worked for me over the years for running Thunderbird from an external HDD. Recently there was an USB connectivity issue and the volume was dismounted unclean. Now when I start ThunderbirdPortable.exe, TB can't find my profile anymore. Luckily, I see the profile folder is still there and there are backups of my emails, but how can I make ThunderbirdPortable recognize my profile again?

The problem is only in Thunderbird and not when I want to send emails through another email software (like an app on my phone). I did not change anything in the settings before.
