It's been a while since I noticed Firefox video is laggy on every website. I thought it was about some driver problem but everything else seemed to work well. I downloaded Chrome and it didn't have any problem running any video.

I tried clearing Firefox's cache and I tried to "refresh Firefox" on about::config, but it didn't work. I don't have any missing system updates, I'm running Firefox 84.0.2-1.fc33 on Fedora Workstation 33.

I don't like using Chrome so your help will be really appreciated.

i erased both of Firefox and Chrome and install only Firefox without any addons. one time i erased cookies and still same problem.

this problem only happenas after first youtube video. only the first youtube video is fine. there's no freezing, lag, latency on the first video.

Hi, Thunderbird notified me of an update this morning, worked fine before that, I installed the latest update (78.6.1) and since then, the program starts with a blank window and isn't responding anymore. Running Windows10 home 1909. Since I've had this problem before after another update, I already tried the following: - new profile, I completely removed all traces of Thunderbird files under my AppData folder (local, localLow and roaming), it does exactly the same with a completely fresh profile so the issue is not profile related. Everything after that has been done with a fresh profile every time. - uninstalled Mozilla Maintenance Service, because last time I had this problem, uninstalling this service fixed the issue, not this time. - tried safe mode, even with a fresh install it would load at least the menu this time before not responding. - restart windows, several times. - tried 32 and 64bit versions, tried 78.5.1, same thing, 68.9.0 started right away, but I can't use my old(new) profile with this one, splendid.

I've already wasted several days with this issue last time and this is getting reaaally frustrating, I don't know what changed the past couple updates, but this is getting worse every time. Thanks for any kind of help.

There is a site that I've been accessing for months from firefox. Today, all my attempts to access it result in "Forbidden: You don't have permission to access this resource." If I bring up a safari browser, the exact same URL loads fine. I didn't change any firefox configuration settings. Any ideas?

After upgrading to FF 84, my previous sessions are no longer saved and restored unless I restart in Safe Mode.

- I have Restore previous session checked in Preferences.

- I have opened new windows and tabs and one by one disabled and restored every add-on that I have had enabled and quit and restarted each time, until every single add-on has been disabled, and still the previous sessions are not saved and restored.

- I have looked in the sessionstore-backups folder with each restart, and there is never any file for the previous sessions in it.

- I have cleared all my cache before quitting and restarting.

- Again, even when there are absolutely no add-ons enabled, the previous session is not saved and not restored.

- Again, only when I restart in Safe Mode is the previous session saved and restored.

What is the solution?

Hello,

I am using an OpenSuse 42.2 system. Around a week back, I upgraded to Thunderbird 78.6.0 by doing a manual install, since support for automatic update by opensuse is not availabe as the system is old. I am using a Dell Inspiron 15 7579 laptop.

After a few days of downloading all old mails on POP3 from various mailboxes, I started facing the problem of my computer hanging suddenly. The keyboard, display freezes and if left as it is it stays the same way for hours together. The only way of coming out of the situation is to do a hard reset by pushing the power button of the laptop. I used to face similar problems in Firefox, but it was not that frequent and a recent update from Firefox version to the latest version with a manual install helped in resolving this issue.

I managed to capture the error message which appeared a couple of times after a few hours on my mobile and am attaching the same. The error codes in each instance are different.


On searching through the forums, I learnt that sometimes the addons to Thunderbird can cause such problems and the solution given was to restart Thunderbird with the addons disabled. I did the same, but the problem remained. The only addons that I had enabled was TBSync, CalDAV, Provided for Google Calendar and Google Calendar Tab. I have also disabled all the addons, but the problem persists.

Over the last few days, I have been able to work on my laptop for less than a couple of hours (without Thunderbird running) due to this issue.

I also checked the Tools - WebDeveloper for error messages and found the following:

I am not able to make out anything out of these errors.

I have been using Thunderbird (as well as Firefox) since its inception in 2004 except for the last 3 years when I was using Evolution. I hate to give up on Thunderbird and request for support to find out what causes the Frequent Unresponsive Script Error.

PS: As an afterthought, as a remote chance, could the issue be due to some hardware problems on the laptop. I am not sure since I am not facing any other problems in any other application except for some noise due to the fan.

I have changed the password multiple times in Gmail and tried each new password in Thunderbird. How do I recover or change the saved password on the smtp.gmail.com server? No problems with Gmail on my IPhone and iPad. Thanks.

After I updated to the newest Firefox on dec. 16, 2020, my computer began to operate at a terribly slow pace. Not just Firefox, everything. I worked with Apple senior advisors and their engineers to try to isolate what could be wrong. In my Mac activity monitor, the kernel_task was using over 500% of the CPU, even with no browser or application open. After 2 or 3 weeks of checking everything, Apple told me it was Firefox that was causing the slowness. I threw Firefox in the trash but nothing improved. I realized that throwing just the application in the trash did not eliminate all of Firefox, so I reinstalled it and then tried to remove anything related to Firefox from my computer. I’m not sure if I got everything, but the situation stayed the same. I reinstalled Firefox and went through all the solutions that I found on these pages. Nothing has helped. My cpu still shows amazingly high activity even when nothing is open. I cannot figure out what to do and my computer is working so slowly it is essentially useless to me. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions?

Sometimes the vids work fine, sometimes eventually they load, sometimes not at all. And now Adobe Flash is finished...is some sort of replacement needed? My secondary browser is Vivaldi, and the vids open fine there.

I need to know why, for a month now if I install User-Agent Switcher then I can no longer access Whatsapp PC. With the User-Agent Switcher extension installed on FireFox, every time I access Whatsapp PC it asks me to update the Browser and to update it I have to go to restore FireFox and thus restore the Browser. When I open the Windows app it says "searching" with what looks like a soundwave symbol/double back to back sideways wifi symbols "((( )))", never finds anything and doesn't check for new messages unless I physically click the Get Messages button. The account identity is set to get new messages automatically. Recently I deleted a second email identity. I get the feeling the program is not treating an email account as a default or primary or something. Note where the "focus" is on the upper left column. When I click Get Messages it moves to the active email account.

Running Version 78.0 / Windows 64 bit.

When I use firefox last couple of days, my pc runs particually slow and firefox reguarlay goes into not responding. I check task manager and my firefox always appears to have multiple processes open whether i have 4 tabs open or 1, It appears on taske manager like : Firefox (Logo) (6), and you can expand it so you can see each process individually. I search online and it reccomended i go on firefox setting on about:preferneces and ive set my process limit to one. However on task manager it still says i have 5 firefox process running. I am not the most tech savy however so dontknow if these multiple processes are the cause to my laptop runing slow. I have attached some images so my description makes sense. Thanks, Sean :)

Firefox closes keyboard on Surface Pro 7

The Firefox browser keeps closing my touch keyboard whenever I try to use it in the browser. Works just fine in any other application, not sure why Firefox is getting jum… (read more)

The Firefox browser keeps closing my touch keyboard whenever I try to use it in the browser. Works just fine in any other application, not sure why Firefox is getting jumpy. The keyboard opens for a hot second before immediately closing, so it is recognizing it to some extent. Could I get some help? Thanks

Why is display name of some contacts shown and others not?

I have a number of contacts in my main address book. I'll focus on two. Both appear in the address book as {Last Name}, {First Name}, {Email}

I've dragged these two names to a new mailing list. The list has headings of "Name" and "Email". One contact appears on that list under "Name" as {Last Name, First Name}, with the contact's email address in the form xxx@yyy.com under "Email"

However the other has only "xxx" (i.e., the first part of the email address) under Name, though with the correct email address under Email.

If I double-click either contact's name, both appear with exactly the same format. I have "Always prefer display name over message header" checked, and the display name for both is {FirstName LastName}

Why are most contacts listed with their last and first names, but this one is listed with only a single "name", namely the first part of their email address?

(In this particular example, both contacts have the same last name but different first names and email addresses. However I believe I've run into the same problem with contacts with completely different names.)
