The entire INBOX disappeared. How can I get Thunderbird to show it again?

I have a Windows 10 PC. I just downloaded thousands of emails from my CenturyLink email server. The emails were apparently successfully downloaded, but I can't see any of them because the entire INBOX disappeared. When I open Thunderbird, all the other folders are there, but no INBOX.

How can I get the INBOX to show again?

Could this in any way be related to IMAP vs. POP. I used IMAP. I saw several people reporting problems with IMAP. Should I switch to POP?

I dont have the split screen where you see the email header on top and the message beneath. So when I click on an incoming email, it doesn't show me the message unless I double-click it.

New issue for me. Trying to delete multiple emails causes a freeze and then crashes. I can "move" them to trash but I prefer the delete method. I am looking for a solution to get me to where I once was.

Following a recent update (May 25th, 2023) I have lost all my notes. I know Mozilla does not monitor the Notes extension actively and the corresponding Github repo is archived (https://github.com/mozilla/notes).

Mozilla also notified the users about the decision to discontinue this service: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1328311.

However, I found the "Notes add-on" useful, and kept using it. Finally with a sudden update in late May 2023, I have lost all my past notes. While searching for possible solutions for the data recovery, I came to find the following solution by " jscher2000".

For anyone with similar issue I am describing below what worked for me. Following the suggestion by "jscher2000" I first generated the "Old Firefox Data" folder on my desktop. This is how I did that: From the Firefox browser window, click on Help -> More Troubleshooting Information -> Refresh Firefox and follow the instructions.

After creating the "Old Firefox Data" folder you will be able to see one, or multiple, "profile folders" therein. On my system I was able to see multiple "profile folders".

Next, type "about:profiles" in the URL space of a Firefox browser. I saw only a single profile (the default profile) on my screen that followed. Next, you need to "create a new profile" and point the system to one of the "profile folders" inside "Old Firefox Data" folder. Lastly, hit the "Launch profile in a new browser". If you can not see your old notes, try with another profile folder inside "Old Firefox Data" folder.

This is what worked for me (Mac OS). If there is any better solution please suggest that.

Junk emails are marked in red but are not moved automatically to junk folder. I have Mozilla on another machine which does automatically move them. I have copied the settings but they still just sit in my inbox marked in red waiting for me to move them. Any help appreciated

I was having issues playing videos. All I would get was a black screen, but I could hear the audio. Although some videos, like facebook shorts, played just fine. And I could view videos in other browsers. Tried several things I saw suggested on threads having the same issues, but ultimately I uninstalled firefox and then reinstalled it and it seemed to have fixed the issue. Hopefully this helps others having the same issue. I tried to suggest it on a few of those threads but they were locked.

Storage seem to be broken in general, although the problem has morphed with my bad troubleshooting attempts. This problem started ~last week (or ~two months after I switched OS from Windows to Garuda Linux, a variant of Arch) and has progressively gotten worse.

Initial problem: Privacy Badger errors and says storage is broken. Putting `navigator.storage.estimate()` into PB's extension console leads to a quota of a large number, and a usage of 0. Pandora.com then logs me out, and doesn't allow me to log back in. Console reveals it's an indexedDB problem about storage quotas. Many websites are forgetting tokens - I'll log in, and then 15 minutes later, log in again. This happened on Discord, Fastmail, and this support forum (in fact, I couldn't log in on Firefox here. Had to use Chromium). Bitwarden's extension also errors, although this one doesn't directly mention storage and instead says that the sync is out of date directly after syncing. Alright. (If I had to guess, the sync process no longer can write to storage so it's stuck with an old sync).

OK, this is odd. I load back the profile directory I still have saved from the last machine. Still symptomatic. Maybe it's a permissions problem? I run `chmod -R 777 ~/.mozilla/firefox` and relaunch. Still symptomatic. I nuke my firefox directory entirely, reinstall firefox (switching to For Developers) in the process, reimport my bookmarks, and run chmod again. Still symptomatic. Alright.

Maybe it's a problem with my extensions. I really, really doubt that, but maybe. I restart into troubleshooting mode. The problem still exists, but when I go back my bookmarks and extensions are gone.

Problem as it stands now: Pandora.com still logs me out, but I can log back in. Sometimes. It just doesn't remember when I relaunch firefox. Along the way at some point, visiting about:support now shows nothing. As in, when I press "copy text to clipboard" this is the report I get back:

I see the error of "database or disk is full" - however, my disk is new (6 months old) and is literally 95% free space (see attached screenshot). I'm out of ideas, so hopefully someone else has more.

Often when I click on links that take me to video's Foxfire will not launch the video. It stalls and takes forever to load or it does not load at all. I am finding that with more sites as time goes on. Google photos also won't load in a timely manner BUT of I change to Chrome everything loads quickly. This didn't use to be a problem but now is, any solutions out there.

I'm having a problem using my bank website with Firefox - I get a message when I move from one page to another, and that message closes the bank website - Here is the message: "Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit." It is very important to me to be able to view my accounts and investments daily - please help me solve this!

When I have an email conversation with someone who is replying in html format and I reply to them in plain text format, I get a multiplication of hyperlinks until the email message doubles in size each time I reply.

For example, if I receive an html formatted email with this line: https://www.domain.tld/ where that line is a hyperlink. The html source that I see in Thunderbird is: <a href="https://www.domain.tld/">https://www.domain.tld/</a>

and I then reply to that html email in plain text, Thunderbird converts that line, in my plain text reply, to: > https://www.domain.tld/ <https://www.domain.tld/> instead of keeping it as > https://www.domain.tld/

Then if the other person replies in html to my plain text reply. So I receive an email with this line: > https://www.domain.tld/ <https://www.domain.tld/> where those are hyperlinks - the source code of that message is: > <a href=3D"https://www.domain.tld/" rel=3D"noreferrer" target=3D"_blan= k">https://www.domain.tld/</a> <<a href=3D"https://www.domain.tld/" rel= =3D"noreferrer" target=3D"_blank">https://www.domain.tld/</a>

And so, on. Each time that I send a reply, Thunderbird doubles the hyperlinks in that part of the message.

Eventually I get messages with 4MB or more of text in them (no attachments) and Thunderbird gets very slow, freezing, etc.

Basically Thunderbird converts each html hyperlink into an enhanced plain text in this form: https://www.domain.tld/ <https://www.domain.tld/>

Is there any way to stop Thunderbird 'enhancing' my reply to: https://www.domain.tld/ <https://www.domain.tld/> and just keep it as the simple displayed text, as seen in the email that I'm replying to. i.e.: https://www.domain.tld/

I have multiple email account settings like Alibaba, Netease and Gmail. I found Alibaba account do not notify me new message arrival until maually click the subfolder, it annoyes me. I have done all the solution i can found on the web and dig into the source code, check bellow.

1. Solution 1: change global config as http://kb.mozillazine.org/Checking_for_new_messages_in_other_folders_-_Thunderbird#IMAP wiki issues. NOT WORKING!!!

2. Solution 2: mark folder as sync and subscribe. solution detail.

3. Solution 3: Source code inspect. 1) get new message for non inbox folder. doc 2) updateStatus 3. updateFolderStatus 4. then i use python check server folder status ❯ python -m imapclient.interact -H imap.qiye.aliyun.com -u chenlei@lidig.com password: Connecting... Connected.

The Server return the number of UNSEEN email is 1.

What is it about YouTubeTV in Firefox that breaks my ability to control playback? I can click with mouse, but shortcuts ("Play (k)", "Back 15 seconds (j)", or "Forward 15 seconds (l)") stop working repeatedly and I'm forced to go back to using my mouse (Wacom Intuos Pro M). This doesn't sound like a big deal until you're forced to watch an offensive "My Pillow" ad or worse, and I can't immediately stop the playback of these radicalized terrorists. Or if while watching a DVR recording, it stops allowing me to skip thru commercials, or pause playback without picking up my pen (mouse) to get back in control of the 'playback' features.

Strangely, this never happens on YouTube videos/content. Those same controls ('shortcuts') work fine there.

I opened my address book today and all my mail lists have disappeared. How can I get them back. I don't when this actually happened as I have not tried to use a list for several months. I suspect it may have been when I made the jump from 92 to 102. Running on win 10 on a PC.

Hi, I experience consistent tab crashes in my Firefox app on the computer since yesterday. It works only in troubleshoot mode and not in normal. I tried refreshing and reinstalling the app, installing Firefox for Web and nothing worked. Cleaning data and turning "false" preference media.wmf.vp9.enabled didn't work either. I also tried deleting all extensions, turning off recommended performance mode (using hardware) and enabling default theme. I haven't installed anything recently. Last Windows quality update 24.05.2023, last feature update 08.03.2023. Firefox app still works perfectly on my phone, so it's probably something with the computer. What can be the cause and what can I do to fix it? Added info about crashes below

I can no longer use Thunderbird with my Hotmail account. It keeps prompting for password several times then error comes up "server disconnected". I removed the hotmail account from Thunderbird, then tried to add it back in. It will not accept Hotmail account anymore, with same error about server disconnected. I am able to log in and use my Hotmail account directly from their, outlook.live.com without any problems.

As I receive new emails at distefan5@verizon.net, my older received emails more than about 3 months old are deleted. Most recent emails received that remain in my in box are from Feb. 2023. (1) How can I recover the deleted emails more than 3 months old? (2) How can I prevent this from continuing and keep received emails more than 3 months old in my inbox? Thank you.
