This is a comment, not a question. I really only want to applaud Firefox and all the volunteers that contribute their thoughts and efforts in writing solutions, explanations and more to the many areas that need to be addressed, especially newcomers to the world of computers and Firefox. I was not raised in a computer environment, in that I am old, born in 1953. Everything and anything I know is from being self taught by jumping online and giving it a go, stumbling around on the web until things made sense to me. Volunteers at Firefox have been invaluable as they have been my teachers almost from the start. In addition to just turning 69 years of age and a bit out of the range of "computer age" I had undiagnosed learning disabilities (ADD, dyslexia, etc) which made classic classroom learning very difficult. With Firefox (and others) volunteers, I am able to take my time, going over what I read several times until it sticks and I can move on to take in a little more knowledge each time I logged (and still log) on. So thank you to all the volunteers who share their expertise and thank you to Firefox for highlighting the names of the authors and teachers and posting them at the end of their articles. Firefox does not just talk the talk, they walk that walk, and stand as a fine example of how well community, helping out and giving of yourself makes for a better world. Without naming names, there are others who now prefer to remain more self-serving in their efforts, pumping up their version of "security" by becoming CENSORS TIMES TEN, limiting and blocking any and all comments that do not conform to that company's beliefs. Like I said, I prefer not to name names....but "YIPEE !" Thank God they are the exception and not the rule. Ain't that right, "YIPEE !" or whatever your real name is ! As they say...'DO YOU !" Firefox. Keep up the great work and again, thanks to all of the many contributors who volunteers their time, energy and expertise in spelling things out, helping to teach Old Knuckleheads like me, how to follow the maps you draw in verbiage, that is the standard for great teaching methods in the many, many areas of computing that I personally got a late start on. Be safe and Be healthy, everyone, in particular all you volunteers. All of your efforts are deeply appreciated. p.s. My apologies for the length of this, I just don't know when to SHUT UP ! LOL

Once again, Mozilla has changed a good thing. I like searching from the middle of the page because I can actually see it and never use the address bar to search. Now with the latest downgrade, I can no longer use the search bar in the center of the page, it sits there with no use or purpose. I can only search from the address bar. I tried the fix of going to about:config, then handoff, then browser.newtabpage,activity............followed the directions exactly. IT DID NOT WORK. Someone needs to help fix this or I will dump mozilla as they continue to ignore functions that are PERFECT and change them to accommodate a group of people that live on their phones and make all changes preferential to that genre. I use a desk top to access the internet. Do not forget about PC users when you make these asinine changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That, simply YouTube does not work well with Firefox, among the problems we have that it is possible to log in to YouTube in a normal way, but immediately and frequently in the use of the page the information and interface displayed is that of someone who does not log in, for Therefore, you cannot comment, you cannot save videos in lists, it is a problem that makes me no longer use Firefox but I want to use it again.

I have tested this on other computers and the problem is the same.

What is happening?

Thanks

There was a clear indication that simply resetting Firefox would save passwords while hopefully improving performance. BUT ALL LOCKWISE PASSWORDS AND LOGONS HAVE APPARENTLY BEEN LOST. There are online instructions to copy/paste all data in the Old Firefox Data fldr to the "new profile fld" in 'about:profiles'. But the lost passwords still do not appear. Can anyone explain:

(1) is it possible to recover lost passwords from Old Firefox Data ? (2) why this happened despite false re-assurance that passwords would not be lost ?

Thanx. Boiling Madman

Three times now I have lost over 150 open tabs on Firefox and have spent hours trying to recover them but to no avail.

I have tried absolutely everything I have read in multiple support posts such as clicking on the 3 lines, trying to go into history, etc. The best I can do is go into my history to see thousands of website that I have been to in the past several months, but seemingly no way to restore only the 150 tabs that I had open.

Several of the posts refer to trying to find previous files with names in them such as "session..." and "json..." etc. but I cannot find any of these files on my hard drive.

MESSAGE TO FIREFOX DEVELOPERS: Please please please add an option to load a previous set of tabs that were open a week or two ago. Not an option to open the websites I was on, but the actual saved tabs. Very frustrating!!!!!! It's not reasonable to expect someone to go through 3,000 web pages in the history to find the 150 that I opened and left opened for a reason. A couple of hundred hours of my time in research down the drain.

Please help. I'm using the latest firefox browser on Windows 7. Thanks.

I created an e-learning course and published it to web. On several slides in this course in Firefox browser (91.0.2 v.) some pictures disappear and appear randomly after some time (for example 30s). These errors do not occur in Chromium based browsers - like Microsoft Edge. These images disappear/appear when the window of Firefox is rescaling too. The problem has been reported to authoring tool support and has been confirmed by them. Any suggestions from Firefox browser users?

When using Firefox and searching with Google.com I will experience an issue where the Google links/websites won’t load. And if they have previously loaded and the issue begins none of the elements work. This issue is frustratingly intermittent. It will be fine for a few min and then break for a few min. I'd attach screenshots but there is no error - simply does nothing. I have done a bunch of troubleshooting and testing to get to the root of the issue.

  • Reload page
  • Restart Firefox
  • Cleared cache
  • Disabled Privacy/Security settings
  • Disabled Plugins
  • Updated Firefox
  • New Private Window
  • Tested another browser - Other browsers load google sites
  • Tested non google websites – Other websites are loading
  • Tested another network

I’ve noted that google.co.za seems to have a separate intermittency from google.com. However, I have tested and found both can be ‘broken’ at the same time. It also happens with Youtube.com. I am quite happy to continue troubleshooting, I just need some direction.

For a couple of days i have a problem with the playback of videos in Firefox.

The Video freezen for a couple seconds (3s - 5s mostly), but the audio continues without any problem.

This problem accours predominantly on Youtube videos and livestreams. But i noticed it on Twitch as well, although the freeze duration was shorter.

I could not notice this issue when using other browsers.

I tried: - turning of hardware acceleration - disableing addons - different video qualitys (480p - 4k) to no improvement.
