Please give me very simple instructions on getting Firefox not to display trash text. I am sending a screen shot. The trash text seems to be a problem when I open an email in Firefox only, not Safari or Chrome. Problem occurs in both of the two email clients I use: Yahoo or Apple Mail.

--What I Did With The Problem-- I went to the Mozilla Community for what to do about random text showing up and found a couple suggestions for command line “fixes" from a few years back. I don’t know if they would have worked for my problem, since the problem they were fixing didn’t sound exactly like mine. Also it has been 30 years or so since I used a command line interface. Not wanting to start with that now.

I tried reinstalling Firefox. No change.

I tried translating a line of text from Turkish to English (it looked to me of Turkish, and no, I don't know any Turkish) and it translated. But when I tried with Hmong and Spanish, the same line translated to English. I abandoned this “test.”

I tried looking for more help at mozilla.com on Facebook and found a Help page that seemed more concerned with Indian politics and Excel fixes than Firefox.

--Please Help-- This is my default browser and has been for years and years. Now I am using Safari as my default. Yeow! It hurts! I’ve been dealing with this for a couple weeks now. It is getting OLD.

I recently installed AdBlocker, but then a site I visit daily closes after it loads.

I uninstalled AdBlocker and the site still closes after it loads.

I assume the problem was from AdBlocker, but not really sure why this happens.

Hi Running FF 99.0.1 on MacOS Big Sur (11.6.4) and my Lulu outbound network monitoring app (https://objective-see.com/products/lulu.html) is flagging an attempt by the FF MacOS plugin container trying to access a high risk site (93/100) according to https://www.ipqualityscore.com/free-ip-lookup-proxy-vpn-test/lookup/104.16.248.249.

=======The lulu popup notification shows: Message : plugin-container.app is trying to connect to 104.16.248.249 Process ID: 44441 Process args: -parentBuildID 20220411174855 -prefsLen 6210 -prefMapSize 255244 -sbStartup -sbAppPath /Applications/Firefox.app -appDir /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/Resources/browser -profile /Users/xxxxx/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/dps0ori7.default-release 44428 gecko-crash-server-pipe.44428 org.mozilla.machname.1552309677 socket Process Path: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/plugin-container.app

IP address: 104.16.248.249 port & protocol: 443 (TCP) reverse DNS name: unknown

==

https://www.abuseipdb.com/whois/104.16.248.249 shows a hostname of aofeisheng.com.

Cannot really tell if this is a false positive or something I should block permanently. Not sure why my plugin container is reaching out when the browser was just updated.

Thanks

French expat in Asia I noticed that since the launch of this free website, Firefox 93.0 running with macOS Big Sur 11.6 is unable to connect properly with the French TV5MONDEplus website. Access to the site is entirely possible but the connection seems to stop as soon as you try to view the programs offered… This problem doesn't arise by using Chrome.

[report] [#1] [#2] [#3] [#4] [#5]

Firefox has been crashing constantly since Oct 6. Out of nowhere. Initially it would happen occasionally, but since Oct it's like seconds after I open it. Every time I have to force quit the application (colour wheel). Even though I am starting with a "refreshed" version (holding ALT + clicking on the icon and selecting refresh) it still happens.

Any help or tips are very much appreciated, FF is my default browser and because of this I have to shift my workflow to Chrome, which I am not fan.

Tabs I usually have open:

  • Gmail (pinned)
  • Whatsapp (pinned)
  • Google Keep (pinned)
  • Google Calendar
  • Google Spreadsheets
  • Reddit
  • Kotaku (sometimes)
  • The Verge (sometimes)

What I already did:

  • Update it (I had initially the previous version)
  • Open it holding alt → Refresh Firefox
  • Restarting the OS
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox
  • Disabled hardware acceleration
