Firefox for iOS Support Forum

having now gone over to Firefox from Safari I am still finding my way around, so if the answer to this is obvious, I apologise.

One of the more useful aspects of Safari was typing a word into the search window of an open page and getting the options of searching the web or searching on that page. I can see that there is that option within the menu of Firefox but accessing it is a nuisance. Is there a way of either giving me the option within the internet search window or less convenient, adding that icon to the title bar.

Hello, I have Firefox installed on my iPad 5, iOS 16.4.1. I only use it in private browsing mode. Frequently after closing Firefox, and then opening Safari, I find that one of the pages that I viewed in Firefox is also now open in Safari. I have no idea how this is happening. Does anyone know? Thank you

Hi! I cannot access my passwords on my iPad (from the drop-down menu), but can on my iPhone. I get a help screen that directs me in how to do auto fill, etc., but it is stuck in that screen. I can’t get beyond that help screen. Please help. Thx!

I have been saving my bookmarks in Firefox on my iPad mini. I was creating various folders and then when i same across a website that i wanted to save I would bookmark it. Recently when Igo to save a bookmark after selecting the folder I want to put the bookmark in it doesn’t show the edit or save buttons so I am not able to save the bookmark in the desired folder. At first I thought it was a coincidence but then tried it for various webpages. The only thing I am aware of is a recent upgrade to a newer version of IOS. I have been using the same version of Firefox for IOS as far as I am aware of. The IOS version I am running is 16.4.1

Can anybody provide any suggestions or solutions on how to fix this. I have restarted my iPad and that did not work. I also checked for newer version of Firefox - this version is the latest. I have research/that I am doing and need to be able to save my bookmarks to specific folders for future reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks/in advance…

Hi, I lost an ipad (only wifi connectivity, no celular activity), and I am very worried about the iPad being found, hacked and then someone accessing my logins/passwords stored on my account in FireFox, as it does not take much to see those. Simply open the Password tab from the main menu and BOOM. Everything is there in the clear! On my desk top I have enabled the master password so that is OK.

Any suggestions like how to remotely disable FireFox on a device?

Woke up today and ipad crashes each time i try to go to a webpage in Firefox. Worked fine last night. ios14.1, can’t upgrade this ipad now. Have deleted and re-installed Firefox multiple times, rebooted ipad, can’t even access Troubleshoot mode bc it immediately crashes and closes Firefox. Please help.

Command + F has suddenly stopped working. Other command functions (e.g., command + L) continue to work as expected, including cut/copy/paste. But command + F simply does not work (going to the menu and selecting the manually selecting the magnifying glass also still works, so it’s not something systemic with the search window, i wouldn’t think).

I posted a message on the App Store indicating the situation, and received a reply from the dev asking me to post my “report” here - not sure if this qualifies, though.

Whenever i use Firefox on my iPad, if I switch to another app and then back to Firefox, Firefox will automatically open up a new tab. I’d like it to stop, and just go to what I set it as in Preferences, or to what I’ve left open when I switched away from it. I’ve looked in Preferences and cannot find out how to stop it from opening new blank tabs by default.

Is there a way to stop it from doing this?

this happened only on my m1 iPad. firefox on my iPhone doesn't have this problem. 1.suddenly freezes up. need to relaunch the app. 2.sometimes lags and stutters when scrolling, switch tabs, and open settings. 3.sometimes it outright crashes after a very bad stuttering. this happened even when i only have couple of tabs opening.

i had tried everything i can think of with no success. 1.clear all browsing data. 2.delete and redownload the app(+delete firefox's folder in files app). 3.update iOS(both security patches and to next version).

the only thing i haven't tried is too factory reset the iPad. which i hope to avoid.

Since a week of 2 Firefox freezes when I type text in the address bar. After some time the text I typed start appearing. Also websites loading are sometimes freezing. Switching to another app on the iPad makes Firefox unfreeze. However need to use the reload function. Version Firefox 106.2 (21661) iPad Pro (11-inch) iOS 15.7 I removed Firefox, rebooted the iPad and reinstalled Firefox. That shortly seem to help, but now same issues apparent.

Firefox used to be my go to browser in all my devices. But since the latest updates, it has been buggy and slow to the point of not being an option anymore. I have seen that there are many reviews in the AppStore pointing to this, but seems that they go unnoticed. And the fact that you have to actually go through a series of hops to get support is unbearable. There are many examples of how the application’s performance has been degraded: - when switching to another app (i.e. notepad) and then coming back, it freezes for some 20 seconds before it crashes altogether - when opening a new tab, if you want to access the menu (some call it the “burger” menu on the upper right corner), the app takes almost a full minute before displaying it. - sometimes even opening a new tab, it takes forever to respond to the keyboard entry.

Hopefully in some future versions all these issues get fixed but for now, it has been a total buggy experience.

Hello, I use firefox as my main web browser at work, there I use the shotgrid web page to give notes to audio visual projects. I use a wacom cintiq cause I need to give some drawn notes, and every things works so good on the browser, but, I downloaded to firefox version to iPad pro, cause I can sync from my workstation's firefox, but when I try to use the apple pencil to make the drawn notes, it looks like the apple is not drawing, it only let me to draw one point on each touch, it is not drawing as I slide the pencil on the screen. My question is if it is possible? or if I need to set some special setting? Thank you for your attention

Hey, Since I've updated my ipad to the newest os (15.7) my Firefox got really slow and buggy. Often it simply crashes once it's loading a page. I am not be able to use my enpass password manager anymore too... It simply won't show the keyboard once I want to log into anything. A look in the reviews section of the app store shows me I am not alone.

What's going on? I am using Firefox on so many devices but not on my ipad it's just not usable anymore.

On FF on my iphone, I can open multiple tabs in the privacy tab, go back to the normal tabs, and all the privacy tabs remain to check later. On my ipad however if I go back to the normal tabs, all of the privacy tabs are gone. I rarely need to close them all immediately, but often do want to go back to them, just keeping them saved for later.

It would be nice if the ipad was like the iphone in not immediately closing all tabs, though still keeping them locked away.

I needed this browser for my iPad. I had downloaded it on my PC recently. No problems at all. But now when I try and add the BTRoblox extension it says download the app. I DID THAT. Then it says finish setting it up. I don’t know what that means. So if there is anything I’m doing wrong let me know. Thanks! JackyBEAR
