Firefox for iOS Support Forum

I opened a large PDF on Firefox (among other tabs open) while checking insurance coverage. After scrolling through the PDF a bit and switching tabs, when I went back to the PDF tab, Firefox crashed. Now it opens to a white screen every time I try to open Firefox and crashes shortly afterward. I was hoping I could close tabs, or clear history, but cannot access anything. I’ve cleared all active apps and tried restarting the iPad a few times. I also tried updating the FF app. Is there any other way to get FF running again, or at leave, recover my bookmarks before I uninstall/reinstall?

When I minimize Firefox and then maximize it launches another window. Why does it add a new tab? I want it to stay on the last tab I was at, but instead I need to go back to the all tabs view and close out the new unwanted window.

When I tap ‘open in a new tab’, if too many tabs are already open, it will load the page several tabs down (instead of being adjacent to its parent tab). This is a further issue, and when exiting the page, the tab menu starts where it should be. This can cause issues when comparing items in separate tabs, and is very frustrating. This can occur at any point after I only had 30 ~ tabs open.

I like to keep tabs open for awhile until I get around to reading them, sometimes I'll open firefox and they're just all closed and gone. I have the older tabs thing on, and tried updating the app but it already is up to date.

so yesterday i was using the Firefox app on ios and today when i reopen the app today all of my tabs were deleted, i had hundreds of important tabs on the regular browsing and a few on the private browsing that were deleted; but i never pressed the trash can at the bottom left of the screen, it is also important to know that the history is still there for the regular browsing but it would take time to reopen all of the tabs, not to mention that some date back for about 1-2 years ago and i cant recover the history or the tabs for the private browsing, or at least i dont know how to. I am guessing that there was some kind of crash or bug that happened when i closed the app. If there is any possibility to recover all of the tabs for regular and private browsing it would be awsome

I recently got Firefox again after having had to get it of it for a while for storage reasons. I remember there being a feature that when you clicked on any link, it would pop up a “switch to tab” option, which was very helpful as I like to open tabs but keep reading. However, now that’s only popping up when I do long-press on the link and pick open in new tab in the menu, and that takes a frustratingly long time. I remember there being a setting for it back then, but now I can’t find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The latest and previous versions for over one year-two years have had problems with tabs.

1. My account is logged off after closing FF with the active tab opened and starting again. Whatever service I am logged in to is logged off. DEVS!!! JUST TRY IT!!! The services in other tabs are logged in but not in the active one.

2. opening a link in a new tab ("right click") throws me somewhere in the list of my tabs. It is not opened just next to the active tab. just somewhere ahead. eg I have 80 tabs. My active tab is 60th. the link opened in the new tab is 75th. Unlike in Chrome next to the active tab.

3. tabs sometimes "lose" their address. They are blank. They very rarely open properly after a few restarts of FF.

4. moving tabs is very difficult unlike in Chrome or Safari

Ugh i've had it with firefox it's so buggy on mobile. I've tried to make a post about an issue with tabs resetting to their original position after being moved around, but it didn't post at all and acted as if I was never signed in and now i've lost the whole thing. and it keeps asking me to sign in everytime I do something on this website, so it'll be a miracle of this post even makes it through.

I would like to know every single option I could possibly turn on or off, or adjust, or do literally anything to, in order to ensure that my tabs stay the [removed] open. I just returned today to find my 70+ tabs, which I regularly use, completely gone. Normally, if Firefox crashes, it at least has the decency to ask me if I’d like to reopen my tabs, but apparently not this time, for whatever reason. Having to scour through my history to reopen all of my tabs one by one is a frustrating endeavor, and while this is slightly uncommon, it still happens consistently and frequently enough to be a major irritant.

I apologize for my somewhat aggressive tone, but I’m about this close to just using another browser if it keeps pulling this [removed]. So to reiterate, I’d like to know every single possible option I could adjust in some way or to some capacity to ensure that my tabs just stay open.

I’m devastated. Please tell me how to recover all the tabs I lost.

I had disabled the sync feature weeks ago, but when I opened Firefox just now, it had 1) synced with my MacBook 2) lost every open tab on my iPhone

Please please someone respond to this. Why is there no solution offered in this forum? Clearly a number of people have had the same problem.

Hello! I have a problem I'm using firefox for ios and I have a setup problem. When I opened a tab and then switched to another application, for example a messenger, and then switched back to firefox, then firefox opens a new window for me, instead of showing the site window that I left. It happens every time. How do I make firefox show the window that I left after switching to another application. Thank you!

Hi, I just installed Firefox on my iPhone and I was looking into whether tab groups are possible, and it didn't seem so but I came across [article] that is confusing. Under "View Open Tabs", it references "tab groups in ascending order", but I can't seem to figure out how to create these groups. Is this actually possible? Thank you!

Hello I'm trying to make a switch to FF from Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome but I can't get saved login IDs and passwords to sync with FF for iPhone and Android using the same account. Any ideas? Here are a few more details: 1. All other items, like, Bookmarks, Tabs and History are syncing across all devices, no problems. 2. I deleted all old login IDs, bookmarks and everything stored in my FF account previously, then imported new and updated ones from Microsoft Edge. 3. Login IDs and Passwords are all showing up and working with Auto-fill in FF for desktop. Just that these IDs and Passwords are not showing up in FF for iPhone and Android despite manually syncing multiple times and ensuring that Login check box is ticked on. 4. New passwords created on FF for either iPhone or Android are syncing across all devices (including desktop), but the vice-versa (imported and new ones saved on desktop) are not syncing with mobile devices. 5. I have tried re-installing FF on all 3 devices and still only passwords remain to be synced. Rest everything syncs perfectly. 6. I have tried importing from Google Chrome as well, but the same problem ensues.

I have not been able to get my Firefox iOS app and desktop to sync. On both my desktop and phone logins are selected for syncing but each device has its own list of logins which they wont share with each other. I can sync tabs and send tabs from desktop to my phone and the same the other way around. The only thing that doesn't seem to sync is passwords/ logins.

I have uninstalled the app on my phone I have logged out and back in I have cleared connected devices on my account and relogged in

None of the above have worked in getting my device to sync.

When I do a fresh install I only get back the logins that I've manually entered onto my phone. It seems to have it's own list separate form the desktop and neither device is sharing login sync.

Any help would be appreciated, I have 300+ logins on my desktop version and have only manually moved over a small handful to my phone because manually doing so is a pain and they won't sync if I update one on the phone or computer to the other device.

I'm on iOS 109 and desktop version is 109.0 (64-bit). I have been trying for weeks on and off to resolve this issue.

The first Tab that pops up upon opening Firefox does not pick up the entire word/subject I am looking for. I use an Ipad/IOS and my search engine is Bing. When I type in the subject I am searching for, only half of the first word is picked up. I have to move to the next open tab to retype the word. It only happens on the first tab. Example: looking for Genealogy. It only picks up “ealogy” the first 3-4 letter ALWAYS MISSING. Can someone help. Thank you, Lynn

When I open a new tab in iOS, it does not appear automatically appear in the tab switcher, and only shows up if I toggle to private browsing and back to normal. Then once I go to a tab and open the tab switcher again, same problem. I had this problem start over a year ago, and in that time, after waiting through multiple updates to see if it would solve itself, I did an uninstall/reinstall (which did solve the problem for a few days before it came back), cleared website data, got a new phone, and did the uninstall/reinstall again. Nothing works except the uninstall/reinstall, which works for a week tops (not worth having to redo my pinned pages and open tabs every time though). Please help me figure out what’s going on here.
