I am using the latest build of Android on a Pixel 7 phone. My Firefox is up to date per the Google Play store.

When I first started using Firefox for Android, I really liked that it would continue playing my audio without and user interaction. I turn my Bluetooth devices on, and it continued to play audio in Bluetooth device. When I turned it off, it then continued to play on my phone.

Maybe a couple of months ago, I noticed that it would pause my audio when I disconnected my Bluetooth device. So I would then have to open Firefox to resume playback to play on my phone. There were no issues at the time when connecting to a BT device. It would seamlessly play from phone to BT device without me interacting with my device.

Now maybe a couple of weeks ago, audio will now pause in BOTH cases when connecting and disconnecting to / from a BT device. I have to open the browser to start playback again in all cases now.

Is there a way to force it to keep playing when I am connecting or disconnecting from a BT device? Unsure if this is a bug or a setting that I am missing.

Hi

I have installed firefox on my Samsung S 6 tablet (bought 2022). I can't get Firefox to show a task bar (or bookmarks menu - but the bookmarks do exist from sync) and I can't add in 1password. I synced with my desktop (where firefox and 1 password work perfectly well) and tried everything I can from online suggestions - but either they haven't worked or some of the settings they refer to don't exist in the Android version of firefox. 1 Password - which is also installed on the device - does not show up in the list of add ons accessed via the Firefox 3-dot menu; and doesn't show up either if 1 password is open or closed . I've wasted hours on this and getting nowhere. Any help would be appreciated

Thankyou RC

How can we turn this annoyance off?? I mean turn it off WITHOUT BEING TRACKED! I do realise I can sign into my Google account, and change the prompt from appearing, however I need to be signed into my Google account, have this setting checked, and also cross sites tracking needs to be on.. what a frigging joke! Could Google try and invade our privacy any more? This is an incredibly tactful way for Google to annoy its users, then offer a solution, which INCREASES their ability to track people. Wow! I hope I am not the only person seeing what Google is doing here.

It seems like I have tried for half of my life to not have Pop ups from annoying my user experience, and from what I understand the IOT have agreed that this is not good practice. But C'mon Google WTF! Are you doing! If it's not auto playing videos, cookie warning pop ups, paywalls, Google sign in prompts. This is ruining the internet, and the only way to fix this, is to sign your life away. The IOT already has way more information then it needs to render a website, and have the most basic anonymised user date to function. THIS is all the IOT needs to operate, so why does the internet "need" so much more to work. What a joke. And most people unfortunately are following into this blind, and without questioning the powers that be.

I'll understand if this is a longshot. However, I need to ask.

I have tried the new user interface that Mozilla put out about two years ago. I tried it when it first updated and I tried it again last year to be sure. And I'm sorry, but I hate it. I hate it so much. It's unwieldy, I don't like the way the tabs are presented, I don't like how New Tab works and most of all I hate that my bookmarks aren't the first thing I see when I open a new tab. I've been using I think Firefox 69 or 79 ever since.

But using an out of date browser obviously has issues. Pictures aren't loading, some webpages aren't loading, including ones I need for school, and recently my adblock stopped being able to block everything.

Which brings me to my question. Is there some way I can update Firefox to the new browser without using the new UI? An add-on, a setting I can change? If it's complicated, I can do it with a decent step by step. Even if you can help me find the right phrase to google to get a how to would be great.

Thank you in advance, and I hope you have a lovely day

This is a problem I've been having on and off for a while now. It seems to only happen on specific web sites, and only in Firefox (I use the Beta browser). On some sites the issue seems intermittent, while on others it's there every time. The issue is this: it seems that my keyboard (SwiftKey) fails to correctly recognize text input fields as such. Some times this leads to text input being doubled, as the autocorrect system fails to remove the direct input to replace it with the corrected word. Typically it means every word is capitalized, as every word is seen by the keyboard as the first word in a field. Some times the keyboard doesn't open at all. Erasing text is often either entirely impossible or extremely slow, as is navigating already input text.

Ive tried clearing both browser and keyboard caches with no change. Visiting the same sites in Chrome has everything work as intended.

Toolbar scrolling is buggy Steps to reproduce:

Open any website. (I opened https://www.androidpolice.com). Scroll down. The toolbar will hide during scrolling down. Which is normal and happening. Now scroll upward from any position of website but toolbar don't shows. Have to scroll top of website to show toolbar. Actual results:

Toolbar doesn't show when Start scrolling upward.

Expected results:

When i start scrolling upward toolbar shows immediately.

Note: logic will be simple. When user start scrolling website down toolbar will hide automatically (which is happening) and when user start scrolling website upward (however user start scrolling from any position of website) toolbar appears automatically. This is happening from day one. Also file bug report in bugzilla but no response. Report No. 1812603

In Firefox settings, I DO have "Open links in apps" enabled, because I do want most sites to do this. However, there are some specific sites that I DON'T want to open in app. For most of these (e.g. Aurora Store), it is sufficient to open the App Info (in Android system Settings) and disable "Open supported links" (and also tap the "clear default preferences" button, if it's there). For those apps where I've disabled supported links, webpages will load normally in the browser, and there won't even be an "Open in app" option from the 3-dot dropdown menu for the website.

The problem is, some apps that have supported links disabled will still be opened when a link to their website is tapped in browser. One example of this is Tumblr. Tapping a link to any tumblr.com site will launch the Tumblr app instead (which is a particular problem because the Tumblr app currently has a bug where it cannot open links to specific pages, so it navigates to the homepage instead, which is useless. For this reason, it's imperative that Tumblr links open only in browser, at least until Tumblr fixes their bugs.)

Is there anything that I'm missing that will definitely prevent FF from launching an app, when that app is set to NOT open supported links? Is this a FF mobile bug that I should file on Bugzilla? Are there any workarounds (perhaps like a 3rd-party app that intercepts the intent to open Tumblr and redirects it back to the browser)?

Hey. I hope no one asked this question before because I could not find it. I am trying to build a website, that contains a header, a main-part, and a footer. All of them together should make up 100% of the screen size. The height of the header and footer are fixed to 100px each, so the main part must be adjustable. On desktop this is easy accomplishable in CSS trough: height: calc(100vh – 200px). On mobile however, 100vh does not include the URL bar. Therefore, I used JavaScript. Basically, I am checking if the device used is a mobile one. If so, I use window.innerheight and subtract 200px from it. That fixes the issue, at least on some mobile browsers. And here is where the fun begins:

On Brave-Android it works as expected. On Firefox-Android however, it does not work at all. There are two white stripes on the site. One under the iframe that holds the header and the other at the very bottom of the site.

I have added two screenshots to this question. One screenshot shows how it is supposed to look, the other one shows the problem I am facing.

If you want to check out the code, I did upload everything to GitHub. The site itself is in German, but all the variable are in English.

On Firefox 109.1.1 (Build #2015927171), on every website I've visited, when I enter full screen, the Android Navigation Bar hides, as I would expect. But when I leave full screen, the Navigation Bar stays hidden, as if I'm still in full screen, requiring me to swipe up to show it. The app will continue this behavior across multiple tabs and on every website, until the app is force-closed and cache cleared.

Using Firefox 109.1.1 (Build #2015927171) on a Samsung Galaxy S22 Running Android 13 with One UI 5.0. No other browser or app shows this behavior. Attached screenshot shows Nav Bar hidden.
