Hi, I haven't been able to download my emails for months from my pop.att.yahoo.com account. I enter my password and Thunderbird thinks for a few minutes before I get the error "Sending of password for user did not succeed. Mail server pop.att.yahoo.com responded: Server error - Please try again later." It's been this way for months, I just updated to the newest version and it still doesn't download

Running Thunderbird on Ubuntu, using operating system color scheme. Prior to upgrade to 78.7.1, calendar background was white, with muted colors for weekend, current day.

Two issues after upgrade:

1 - edit a single entry of a recurring sequence (changing the day); saving the change causes the background color to change to black, with purple for saturday and dark olive for sunday (not my idea of good colors, and definitely not what I want) [ just encountered a second way of causing the calendar color change - start Thunderbird, calendar shows operating system color scheme; change focus to another window then select thunderbird - colors change to black/purple/olive ]

2 - restarting thunderbird restores the operating system color scheme for calendar but the change to the single entry of the recurring series is lost (reverts to the recurring series value)

Any ideas?

Hello. I'm a happy camper. Just converted a bunch of old .pst files to .mbox, installed Thunderbird on my Mac, and have been able to access them. Awesome sauce!

I'm on a roll-- why not go for even more? Instead of having 3-4 different folders in Local Folders, is there a way I can consolidate them into one? These archives are all from same job, but span different time frames.

It might be as easy as dragging everything into one folder, but figured I should check with the experts before breaking anything. Oh, and if there *are* messages that somehow appeared in more than one archive, will "duplicates in the merged folder" be the only problem it causes?

TB stopped working after upgrading to Version 78 and I'm getting an error message on the calendar [Exception... "ComponentManager::CreateInstance returned failure code:" nsresult: "0x80570015 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CI_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: resource:///modules/CalCalendarManager.jsm :: createCalendar :: line 153" data: no]

I've tried changing the TLS level, that did not work....I check with my provider "Cox" and they are using TLS level 3....and the other suggestions on the support site, nothing works.....I can log into and send and receive e-mail from the Cox webmail....I deleted my account in TB and re-entered, no luck....changed my password, no luck....I'm out of ideas....I'm running on a Dell tower with Windows 10.....any other ideas?

Hi,

I'm running TB 78.7.1 on Windows 10 and have my local folders saved to a USB drive. My USB was assigned as the F: drive and I'd configured TB to use this drive for the local folders. After many successful uses of the USB on the F: drive, the next time I started TB I noticed that my PC had assigned the USB to the G: drive. Within TB, I changed the local folder from F: to G: and restarted TB as prompted. After restarting, TB had deleted all the folders on my USB! The USB now has files such as:

[Gmail].sdb [Gmail].msf filterlog.html inbox.msf msgFilterRules.dat Templates.msf Trash Trash.msf Unsent Messages Unset Messages.msf

I found a file recovery tool and was able to restore some of the deleted files. This was a painstaking process. After restoring the files and folders on the USB I was able to get TB to recognize my local folders again using the F: drive. Today, I plugged in my USB and once again the PC assigned it to the G: drive while TB was configured with F:. Instead of changing the TB configuration, I decided to use 'Computer Management' and changed the USB drive from G: to F:. I kicked off TB but it still deleted my local folders and left files similar to the ones listed above. Why is TB behaving this way? I need to use the USB for my local folders since this is a shared PC. Is there a way to stop TB from deleting my local folders on my USB or is this a bug? Thanks in advance for any help!

Lately I've been repeatedly asked for my SMTP password on the first email I send of the day (until closing TB) from certain accounts of those I have.

There appears to be nowhere where I can just ADD an SMTP account and it's respective password.

The particular accou8nt does not appear in the SMTP list of about ten accounts I have. Thus I can't edit it.

Believe me, for the two accounts in which this has been happening, they were once in that list.

Now the account is there but the smtp usage data is not on a line.

And when I do enter the respective password, TB does not ask me to remember it nor make an addition to the SMTP list.

I run my own archive methodology in Thunderbird. In the .thunderbird path with thunderbird not running I usually rename the INBOX to Inbox_year, for example Inbox_2019. I then make a new Inbox and restart thunderbird. I do the same with the SENT mail directory. I am quietly confident that this is what I have done for more than two decades. The process is NOT working at the moment. I don't really know why and I cannot find any documentation that will help me link or directly attach the getting of mail to the new inbox. It is linked to the moved folder. That is new mail is put into the Inbox_year box and not the standard inbox. I admit to not under the presented icons. The icon associate with the Inbox and the Inbox_year just move is an envelope with an unsealed flap. A;; the other icons are folder icons. I hope that my description is sufficient. When trying to send emails with the gmail account ####@utexas.edu my account requests me to sign in using an unrelated SSO login connected to the website www.utexas.edu. We have set the smtp to smtp.gmail.com and the port to 465, and I am able to receive emails to my inbox just fine without having to interact with the www.utexas.edu sso page. Incoming server is set to imap.gmail.edu port 993 and both are set to ssl/tls and OAuth2. Another user was able to successfully install Thunderbird and set it up with the @utexas.edu gmail account with no issues. I am on Thunderbird version 78.8.0 and Mac OS 10.14.6.

Hello. First of all, I was already searching an found this question (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1285465). It seems to be exactly my problem, but it is archived, so I had to open a new one.

I am using Sieve Filter, this is why some new mails are sorted into direcotries via the server, before I even start Thunderbird.

I read in the other questions, that this has to be an issue regarding the VPN, Anti-Virus Software. This is why I have set up the same account in Apple Mail, with the same Settings. In Apple Mail I don't have this issue. New mails show up in their directory without clicking the directory.

Does anyone have an idea, how to find the problem? For me it seems to be a bug on showing new mail. Maybe the new mails are there, but Thunderbird has a problem in showing them?

I am running Thunderbird 52.9.1 (32-bit) on a WIN XP SP3 computer and Thunderbird 86.0b3 (32-bit) on a WIN 10 machine. Both computers use the same keyboard & monitor via a KVM switch. When logging in on the older WIN XP computer the login popup automatically progresses to the next email account for login when the current one is successful. I have 3 active email accounts loaded the exact same way in TB in both machines. When logging in on the Win 10 machine the TB login window will not automatically progress to the next email account so that I can log in. I have to manually move the mouse cursor to the next account. I have the same 3 email accounts loaded in the WIN 10 version as I do on the WIN XP SP3 machine. Is there any kind of hidden command that I can set/reset to have Version 86.0b3 (32-bit) automatically progress through all three email logins like it does in the much older 52.9.1 (32-bit) version? Or does this need to go in as a suggestion for future versions of TB?

Yesterday, when trying to delete the email, I was getting a message: "UID Store failed" every time I tried to delete the message. Today, I'm not getting this message, but I am still unable to delete this one email. I checked (via Webmail), and this message does not exist on the server.

I can "move" the email to Local Folders>Misc>crap, but when I re-open my inbox, it's there again. AND, in the "crap" folder. I've right-clicked the message in the inbox, and selected "Mark as read", but it still remain in bold as unread.

Fortunately (perhaps), I'd taken a TimeShift snapshot, copied my Home Directory, and saved my Thunderbird Profile Wed 24 Feb 2021 12:09:14 PM PST, before this SPAM came in on Thu, 25 Feb., 2021 at 17:19:26.

Any ideas how I can rid myself of this thing?

we have a problem with opening the link in our html Newsletter just only in Thunderbird.

The problem is that the links in the html element <button> do not lead to the specified address in a href, but open a modified adress as a local address.

Example: in the source code in a href there is a link to: https://www.czechia.com/novinka/vyvoj-nove-zakaznicke-administrace-prehled-sluzeb/

however, Thunderbird will open this local address for me: file:///C:/Users/LUKAS~1.TOM/AppData/Local/Temp/rZCq1pcC.html.html

I have synchronized a shared Google calendar via https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@group.calendar.google.com/events in Thunderbird. This basically works fine.

But if there is a recurring event (e.g. every two weeks on Wednesday) and someone moves a single one of those events e.g. from Wednesday to Thursday via her/his Google Calendar app on Android smartphone, this single event will still show in Thunderbird on Wednesday instead of Thursday. While it shows on Thursday in Google Calender app or on calendar.google.com (see Screenshots).

What can be done to show the event on the correct date in Thunderbird calendar, too?

(This is no synchronization problem, other events added later are shown in Thunderbird.)
