I am using Thunderbird version 91.5.0 on an Ubuntu 20.04 machine and, since a couple of days, I find that e-mails containing an invitation to an event no longer display properly. I see the top banner with "This message contains an invitation to an event" but the rest of the e-mail does not look as it used to and it does not contain information such as the time and date of the invitation.

I have a similar problem on an Ubuntu 18.04 machine also running Thunderbird.

Since my Thunderbird updated to 91.2.1 today, provider for google calander (91.0.2) asked me to log in to google account again but returns Error 403: rate_limit_exceeded.

I'm also really annoyed that somehow automatic updates have been switched on without me knowing. I've had them disabled for ages and was getting prompts to update. If I'd have know a major change was coming, and been prompted, I'd have waited.

Calendat sync btween TB and Google Calendar has ben fine until today, when I had error message ["403_rate limit exceeded. This app has reached its sign in rate fore now etc" - screen clip attached]

Google suggests it's a developer issue. If so, is it jus a question of time until it can be fixed?

I'm running TB 91.5.0, with no other issues - and apart from the error Google Calendar is fine too.

Outlook Calendar Meeting Invitations - Thunderbird and Lightning not displaying detials

I'm getting meeting invitations from customers that do not display the meeting details of date/time/duration when displaying the message body as simple or original HTML. I get an event acceptance bar at the top of the message with Accept/Tentative/Decline buttons, but no meeting time or duration information, and no indication of an ICS attachment.

If I display it as text in Thunderbird, I see the plain text message content followed by a horizontal line and what appears to be an HTML rendition of the meeting details in the form I expect; (Title/Location/When/Description, etc.) I see no indication of an ICS attachment.

If I look at it with an IOS device, I see an ICS attachment that I can use to view the meeting details.

I suspect this is something non-standard that Outlook is doing. I'd like to be able to collect diagnostic data to figure out what is going on.

I can't forward the invitations because they contain confidential client info. I'm trying to get a test invitation I can forward.

Possibly related: when I receive meeting invitations with updated attached content (like a presentation) the meeting duration is set to zero and accepting the update deletes the meeting.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.

I keep getting this request/error related to my [email edited from public] @gmail.com which is the account my calendar is on from Google

"Error 403: rate_limit_exceeded

This app has reached its sign-in rate limit for now.

Google limits how quickly an app can get new users. You can try signing in again later or ask the developer (provider-for-google-calendar@googlegroups.com) to increase this app's sign-in rate limit.

If you are the developer for this app, you can request a sign-in rate limit increase."

Can you let me know what you can do about this as it is a real nusance.

Thanks Phil

Hi all,

Events were mistakenly deleted and I can find them in the deleted.sqlite. The events show with a GUID like :

cb93cb40-694b-4854-aefe-b0d6b849df44 567f72cb-a490-43b6-8511-768a25b399c2 3222e825-7e1f-41d0-8894-7665bfd11cd0 86051783-8f4d-466f-a992-9d4ddd8f77f5

I have a full backup (but after deleteing the events) and a full access to the account. I only need to know the basic information of the event (title, name) as I was able to fing the time of start in the "time-deleted"? Is thre anyway to have this information, like reverting the time of the laptop, or using the local stored key to decode the information?

thank you for your help this is an important issue, and we really need to find the information.

Certain calendar events that have been created as a result of receiving an invitation from another party cannot be dismissed when the even notification goes off.

These particular events are part of a monthly recurring series. They have a notification 30 minutes before and an email 4 hours before.

I can click the Dismiss button for the event in the Reminder pop up but it just keeps coming back. I have to delete the the notification setting for the event on my Google calendar using the Google website. Removing the notification setting for the event using TB does nothing. The notification setting comes back after the calendar is synchronized and TB just keeps notifying for the event.

In addition the event cannot be deleted, moved (dragged and dropped), copied or cut-n-pasted to another day using TB.

FYI, I am not using the Provider for Google Calendar add-on. I just added my calendar directly as a Network Calendar using the CalDav URL provided by Google.

I am running Thunderbird on Linux, using version 91.4.1 (64-bit). My OS is set to use a 12 hour clock, yet all times in Thunderbird use a 24 hour clock. I checked out the help article, and it seemed to indicate having the locale set to English (United States) in preferences should get me the 12 hour clock, but both Application locale and Regional settings locale show that option. Switching does not change anything. I tried looking in the config editor, but I was unable to locate any of the settings to change time formats mentioned in the help article.

Why is Thunderbird stuck on a 24 hour clock?

The help article I tried: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-date-time-formats-thunderbird

Hello, I have Thunderbird v 91.3.0 installed on Windows 11. When trying to import into a calendar from an .ics file the "Import Calendar Events and Tasks pop-up comes up with a "Loading items..." message and nothing else ever happen. The window is never populated. Hitting the "Import All" button result in the window closing. No import happens.

When trying to import from a .cvs file, the pop-up is populated with - what looks like - all events, but when "Import All" is selected, nothing is imported into the calendar.

Bug or am I missing something?

Thank You, Reed

In or around TB 91.3.1 double-clicking on an event, you get a dialog box such as the attached. In order to edit the event, you have to hit the Edit button. In the past, TB would just open the event and allow you to edit it. If the event was recurring then, and only then, would a small dialog box come up to ask if you were editing just this event or all events. I see no advantage to this extra dialog box, especially for one-time-only events. It's just another unnecessary click of the mouse.
