Using TB version 102.10.1. Been recently getting messages from three different senders that I wish to delete before they hit my inbox. I read the help article at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/blocking-sender and followed the directions to set up a Block List filter, adding the senders to it. It seems to work automatically for two of the senders but not the other...I have to manually run the filter to make it work. Seems kinda pointless when, if it hits my inbox, I can just delete it anyway. Any ideas why it is still getting through the filter and how to fix it? See screenshots attached.

TBird v102.12.0, 32bit, WIn7Ent.
Just started this morning, I'm getting the following error on one POP3 account:
The stat command did not succeed error getting message number and sizes mail server outlook.office.365.com responded server unavailable 21
This is happening only in TBird--I can get that account's email via my iPhone's built in email app--and it is happening on multiple PCs that are similarly configured.
I have multiple accounts set up on office365 (via GoDaddy). Others are working fine with the same settings.
What I have done so far, with no joy:
I have successfully logged into Office365 directly
I have regressed to an earlier version of TBird.
I have deleted and recreated the problem account (which required resetting the password). The deletion/recreation succeeded, but email will still not download for that account.
I prefer not to use IMAP.
When I signed up I was sent to Mailfence. I want to switch to Thunderbird. How is that done?

Hi there,
I've used (and liked using) Thunderbird as my email platform for more than a decade now. This morning I found out that my primary (GoDaddy supported) email account is no longer compatible with POP or IMAP settings. I've been trying to make the necessary settings changes with help from GoDaddy tech support, but they can't ensure that my contacts, emails, etc. will be saved in the process. Can you please explain how I can export/back up everything in my Thunderbird account before I make changes to the account?
Thanks,
Steve Meyer srm@interstellar-media.com

I have recently installed Thunderbird version 102.12.0 as my email server. I created a "Default Identity" and put in my first and last name in the "Your Name" section. When I send emails, however, the recipient only sees my first name and email address in the "From" line. I would like them to see my first and last name and not to see the email address in the "From" line.

Thunderbird has lost the main body of emails from family members that I had archived over a year ago. The message subject still shows up in the archive folder, but the message content is blank when I try to view it. I am not sure when this actually happened other than to say sometime in the last 12 months.. possibly during one of the may updates to Thunderbird.
I am hoping that the message bodies are still present in the database but since I can't view then when I click on the subject, I can't be sure.
If someone knows how to recover email in this condition, please let me know. Otherwise Thunderebird team: please fix this issue!!

Hi, I am unable to send any email messages to gmail addresses. This is the message I get every time :
Reason: A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server ?? responded with: ** achardbeaven@gmail.com ??:?? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server .
I get this for every gmail address I send to. I think I can send to these addresses using my own gmail account, but I need to be able to use Thunderbird.
Please help
Thanks

Been working with TB windows for many years. works fine. It too had some flaws at times but at least it works. the linux version as I see it at this point seems to have major flaws. Yes, if your emails are nowhere to be found, that is a major flaw.
Perhaps the Mozilla guys have a solution but it should be intuitive right from the start. It's the essence of using an email client.
I might change my mind about TB-Lin if someone could show me how it's done, and if there is some logic to the way it works.
Again TB Win: great. TB Lin: all thumbs down at this point. Please prove me wrong.
John.

I have tried PowerShell: Start-Process -WindowStyle hidden "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"
And even the shortcut doesn't work when you select to run in minimized form.

I have Thunderbird set up to pull email from 5 different email accounts/servers. For two of these (ultimately the same host but two different email addresses) I have a problem with certificates. Every so often I notice that nothing is being picked up from those accounts. If I explicitly click "Get messages" for those accounts I get a certificate exception, tell Thunderbird to accept the exception and then it will pull mail from those accounts for the next several days/weeks. I assume at some point the exception times out or something changes with the email host after a while and Thunderbird stops pulling in mail for those accounts again. It's frustrating that I have to notice there is no mail coming from those accounts so I can do the "Get messages" bit to deal with the exception.
I would like to either find a set up where accepting the exception lasts for ever once I've said it's fine;
OR
I would like to have the certificate error message come up if Thunderbird has a problem with those accounts during normal daily start-up it when I start up. It just seems odd that the error isn't reported during normal start-up but is reported if I click "get messages".
Thanks in advance for any suggestions made.

I am changing the password authentication on two email accounts (two different Windows laptops) from "normal password" to "Oauth". Same version of TBird on each laptop. As the last step in this simple process, a GoDaddy window/web page pops up asking to verify Microsoft365 account credentials. On one laptop (Win7), this window contains a normal display with fields to enter password, etc. I am able to complete the process on this laptop, and it works fine. On the second laptop (Win11), the process is the same, and the same window appears, but it is blank. There are no fields to enter the required data. I've worked on this for a week now, changing default browsers, various settings, and have spent much time on the phone with GoDaddy support, all to no avail. I suspect the problem is in TBird, but I have no idea how to find it. Support for "Normal Password" authentication has been dropped, so this email account will not work until I change authentication to "Oauth". Help.

What do you suggest i use for an email program if you go forward with the Microsoft like abortion of Thunderbird? The new Beta version looks like crap what is wrong with the old layout??????? It looks like the Microsoft borg has infested your software department.
I installed the new beta version it pretty much looks 100% unusable and I almost lost all my emails when doing the install. fortunately I backed up the proper folders so I could go back the the usable version of Thunderbird.
Will the new Thunderbird that will be released this summer have native support for Exchange Server accounts (without requiring the Owl plugin)? Thanks.

Thunderbird error message reads "Login to server mail.btinternet.com with username my.name@btinternet.com failed." After several prompts to Retry/Enter New Password/Cancel, I eventually receive another message "Server mail.btinternet.com has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem." Neither of these are true: I can access the server via webmail (using Firefox) with or without VPN, and my gmail and ionos email accounts are working so it isn't a network problem. I see that the problem has arisen for others, but the responses have all been archived. Any suggestions?

I have two gmail accounts, both working perfectly for years. Lets call them A1 and A2. last week A1 all of a sudden stopped working. Google asked me password and second pass verification. But when trying to connect to google again a message "authentication error" arrived.
I then disinstalled TB and downloaded it anew. A2 started working immediately, but when trying to redefine A1 the above message "Unable to login..." appeared. I then tried to define A1 on the TB of the laptop of my girlfriend. There it started working without any problems. Both PC's have the same TB version and are working under Windows 10 with the same version. Seems to me very strange.
Any ideas?
