In Thunderbird (v. 102.9.0), I have all folders set to the same column structure. I have used the add-on XNote++ for a long time and it used to work fine. Now, however, when I open Thunderbird or even activate the window after coming out of "sleep" mode, either (1) the XNote++ column is moved from the extreme right of the window (where I want it) to the extreme left; or (2) the column disappears altogether. This happens only for the first folder that is active. If I switch to another folder, the columns are correct. So each time I have to go through the process of copying another folder's column structure to the corrupted folder.

I don't know whether this is a result of a new release of Thunderbird or some change in XNote++, but it didn't used to act this way. Any suggestions?

I find the default view when searching for a keyword very overwhelming. There's a button that translates "show results as list" (my language is German) which leads to a much better view of the emails containing the key word. How can I make it the default search view? Thanks!

Some of the email I get in Thunderbird are twice the width of the window. If I try to look at or print the email as is it becomes micro-print. Is there an add-on or setting that will put a soft automatic carriage returns in the mail to reduce the width to something that fits the screen and paper.

The image is an almost full screen view of the email and the lowest gray bar shows the percentage of the mail being viewed and the bar is less than 1/2 the width of the window.

I have added a new Gmail account in Thunderbird (also did it in SeaMonkey and BlueMail). In BlueMail everything works fine. In Thunderbird and SeaMonkey, only the Incoming mail works. Outgoing mail does not arrive in destination inbox. I have tried everything - removing account and re-creating the account several times. In Thunderbird, the email account is created automatically; in SeaMonkey, I created it manually. I already have another Gmail account in Thunderbird that has always worked just fine. When I look at the STMP settings, they are all identical with the one that works except for the new email address < Port 465, OAuth2, SSL/TLS>. One help website recommended >Port 587, OAuth2, STARTTLS> but that did not work either. I followed the YouTube video on how to add your Gmail account to Thunderbird that appears on Mozilla Support. I have tried everything.

Nothing has worked. I am at my wits' end. I need this new account for a volunteer position that I have. I have used Thunderbird successfully for years. I want to keep using Thunderbird on my PC and not have to go to GMail website to use it.

After upgrading to Thunderbird 102.8.0 (64-bit), the Forward Mail button in the toolbar is no longer available in "Customize". The Forward button (as in forward-and-back, not what I need) is still there, but it's greyed out. I've gone through the reset process in "Customize", put everything back on the toolbar, but the problem persists. What's next? (This supersedes the similar question I sent a few minutes ago, before I realized that there are 2 kinds of Forward buttons)

How do I get rid of the write tab user/sender choice drop down? I want just to click the write tab once and get the new email window with no need to click the user choice drop down.

In the past I had multiple usernames so when I clicked the write tab it gave me a drop down for the choice. Now I have only one account username and the drop down still appears even though it has only one choice available. How do I get rid of the write tab user/sender choice drop down?

I upgraded to Thunderbird 102.8.0, and messages in the message pane are double-spaced. How can I get back to single spacing? I've tried various code examples in userChrome.css and userContent.css and I've changed "toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets" to True, but none of this works. Any OTHER ideas? I would like to add a second account (POP 3) to be used ONLY for incoming mail, and use the same, original account (Gmail, IMAP) for all outgoing mail. But I cannot continue with the setup unless I also set up an outgoing server.

When I delete a file from my Inbox in Thunderbird, I want a copy to stay on Gmail. I used IMAP to configure the incoming and outcoming mail in Thunderbird, but it always moves every deleted file to trash in my Gmail.

I am unable to reduce size of folder pane. When move across interface line between folder pane and reading pane the mouse pointer changes to a double ended arrow as it should but...a. the folder pane grows by 1 character to the right on every occurance. and b. trying to drag line to the left has no effect. However, dragging it to the right works fine. The end result is that I now have a 10" wide folder pane and a 1" wide reading pane. This is a windows PC running Edge. All updates are up to date.

I cannot permanently get rid of threads. The latest thunderbird makes that the default. I would like all e-mails shown, by name or by date. The new find doesn't allow choice of sender or recipient or topic which was better. I am getting so irritated that I am considering, after many years of use, of ditching Thunderbird for something else.

After the update to 111.0b1 when starting up the application it does not start at the bottom with the scrollbar when sorting the mail list by date ascending.It starts at the top when it used to start at the bottom of the list (latest entry) :/

All of a sudden, my email font size was huge. I went to settings and changed the minimum font size to 12 (Times New Roman).

However, when I compose a message, the font size is very tiny. I'm guessing the size is less than 6. But when the message is sent, the font size is bigger.

if I increase the font size of the message I'm composing, with the "increase font size button" so that I can read it, once I send the message, the font size of the sent message will be huge.

How can I change the font size of the messages being composed and have it send the message with the same font size?

I'm using version 102.4.2 on a Mac computer.

I simply cannot change the default browser from Chrome to Firefox.

• Firefox is my default browser.
• I've set network.protocol-handler.warn-external.http and network.protocol-handler.warn-external.https to true.
• I've edited the attachment entries for https and http to "always ask"
• I've delete the attachment entries for https and http

No success. Thunberbird always reverts the setting to Chrome.

This should not be so complicated :( Why not a simple setting "Default browers" and pick one from there?

Dear all, morning from Italy

I'm still finding the way to settle in Thunderbird app on my Mac Book Pro a Copany email that is from Outlook and Office365.

Even if i found the code for the setting, when the process is finalized it is possible to send an email well received for another personal account (i try in this way) but the sent email is not yet registered in proper folder in Thunderbird

The same is for an arriving email by third personal account

My necessity is to store all the communications cause important and cause i DON'T WANT use the web with Outlook.com page open on Apple.

For years, I've had a custom sound file selected to play when mail arrives. This has always worked fine.

Yesterday I decided to have a change and chose a different file. However, TB doesn't play anything when mail arrives.

I checked the settings, and all seems fine, see attached screenshot.

• If I click the Play button, nothing happens.
• If I change back to the previous sound file, nothing happens.
• If I change it to use the default sound, then both the Play button and the notification work fine

Both the previous and new sound files play fine on my PC, as do all other sound files.

Anyone any idea why TB won't play a sound file?

I hope someone can help me. Up until the last week or so, I have had no problem with my signature file in outgoing email. I've been using the same signature file for at least 5 years. Suddenly, Thunderbird is blocking my logo image in my signature file in all outgoing mail. Instead, it is showing my alternate text. I am using version 102.6.1 on Windows 10
