When I receive calendar invites from other users, generally on Outlook, they appear in the body of the email. This means I have no means of saving them as .ics file to import into my Google calendar and have to create my own entry, often losing important information. I therefore have to resort to logging onto my bt email account on the browser where I can get the file in its correct .ics format and save it from there to import to Google.

How do I fix this and get the invite to appear in Thunderbird email as an attachment?

Both Firefox (110.0.1 running as Flatpak) and KDE Settings indicate that Firefox is my default browser (in Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS). Nonetheless, when I click on a hyperlink in a mail in Thunderbird, the link opens in Chromium. Hello I have been having this problem for 2 days, I am running 102.9.0 and I did as suggested the IPV6 change I saw in another question - that didn't work. Also I have NOT changed this password in years, so I don't remember what it is ! I have been using Thunderbird for years as I was a Netscape use & Thunderbird is a neat to use as Netscape was !!! Finally I am not too PC technical so even doing the IPV6 change was quite stressful !

I have struggled all day today to get into my T'bird email account linked to gmail which has been working fine previously.

T Bird keeps asking for my master password. I don't know that information. To clear/reset he password requires that one knows the current password. I am also told to paset'chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul' into the error console but this has no reaction.

How do I definitively eliminate my master password without knowing my current master password?

When I CANCEL the entering of a password in T'bird, Google pops up and send me a nice 6 digit code that also results nothing happening.

Please help, I do not want to waste another day on this. Thanks.

As the title says, I was prompted to download and install the latest Thunderbird, I did, and on restart about 5 of my IMAP folders disappeared! I'm connection to the Apple iCloud, and everything has been working just fine until I did the update this AM. I have not changing any settings in ages.

How do I get them back?

I just bought a new PC and had Thunderbird (TB) re-installed.

In mail threads in the re-installed TB, the dropdown menu under the More button is now gone, and the Save As option is gone with it. The only two buttons active are Archive and Remove. I used the Save As option to save backup copies of emails outside TB.

Are there any alternative methods to save backup copies of emails outside TB?

I tried the Archive button on one email, then went to TB Menu (upper right corner) and chose Archive/Open/Open Saved Message. This took me to File Explorer, where I was asked to enter a file name. How do I proceed with this option?

Since the last update of Thunderbird for Linux (upgraded to 102.2.2), my unified folder is now ignoring one of the mailboxes.

The corresponding mailbox still receives e-mails and I can consult them by clicking the mailbox itself, but its messages do not appear in the unified folder, they are not even counted (see attachment) and the quick filters does not return results from that mailbox either.

This is a company mailbox synced with IMAP/SMTP.

Thunderbird 102.9.0 I am no longer able to keep my address book alphabetized. I have gone thru the View looking for any alphabetize method, but it's not on the list. I go through my address book yearly just to clean up, and it had been in order for years. I hadn't checked it since beginning of 2022. Now it's in random order. I do allow updates to download and run automatically since I've never had any issues with a Mozilla product. I have tried a restoration, however that did not change the address book. Thanks everyone!

How can I create mailing lists and use them. I checked on the internet. In mzl.la/1Go7VOo you describe a possibility which does not work, because File does not have option for New > mailing list. When I originally, years back transferred my address book to Thunderbird I had mailing lists, which were 'erased when Thunderbird synced with my Google gmail account. Please help. I really need to create mailing lists for my research work. Thanks

How can I create mailing lists and use them. I checked on the internet. In mzl.la/1Go7VOo you describe a possibility which does not work, because File does not have option for New > mailing list. When I originally, years back transferred my address book to Thunderbird I had mailing lists, which were 'erased when Thunderbird synced with my Google gmail account. Please help. Hi, I have spent 10 hours looking. I am using the Portable version of Thunderbird. 102.9.0 (32-bit) Have been for years. In the Profile folder, there is a folder named “Mail”. G:\Thunderbird Portable\Data\profile\Mail\ In the mail folder there are a lot of entries like, “pop.gmail-1.com”, “pop.gmx-1.com”, “pop.googlemail-1.com”, ‘pop3.live.com”, “pop-mail.outlook-1.com’. There are a lot of entries that were left behind from long removed accounts.

Is it safe to remove these entries? Should I? I am in the process of removing and restoring my accounts.

I was having trouble with my Thunderbird folders and reinstalled the program. Now I cannot send emails. I receive emails, but I can't seem to find the correct email server address for Time Warner Cable (TWC) I have tried mail.twc.com smtp.twc.com and several others.

When I attempt to send an email, it just sits there trying.

Thunderbird announced that it needed to update. Windows also wanted to update. I shut down Thunderbird and I allowed Windows to update (KB5023696). When I opened Thunderbird (after the restart), it invited me to set up my accounts, which was very strange, as I had two active accounts. In the developer panel, the Error Console showed the following: 1679282037408 addons.xpi WARN Checking C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\distribution\extensions for addons Found 0 public keys and 0 secret keys (0 protected, 0 unprotected) RNPLib.jsm:541:15 services.settings: Failed to load last_modified.json: TypeError: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource. Some time ago, Thunderbird changed the whole organization of the email presentation. I am a long-time Thunderbird user who is used to the old screen and organization and I want to find out how I can get the old screen and organization back. I've attached a screenshot so you can see which version of Thunderbird is causing me so much trouble. Why change the traditional top-of-the-screen menu: (File, View,Tools, Help)? It was so logical and so easy. The movable mish-mash that exists now is driving me crazy.

For instance, I used an app under Tools that presorted certain emails and routed them to assigned folders. Not only has the sorting gone wrong, I haven't got the faintest idea where the app is? The emails that were once successfully sorted and rerouted are not working. And they're turning up as read in random folders.

Firefox also changes things that don't need to be changed, but my experience there is that an add-on or extenstion soon turns up that restores the features that users like.

In my preliminary search on my problem, there was not one article. In fact, my search came back with the message that no article appeared to match my query. I guess I must be the only person that is not happy with this interface.

Is there a way I can get the old version back? I'm sorry if I seem grouchy, but I am 83 and not being able to find what I need and what I used to have makes me a tad tetchy.

Thanks for your support and information.

As I mentioned previously, my Windows 10 PC locked up with the Blue Screen problem. So my disk drive has a corrupt copy of Windows 10, my data and my programs. My local computer repair shop was able to copy my data off onto a new SSD which had also had Win 10 installed. But now I must get my FairEmsil Private Folders and Contacts off the old disk. This is where I need your help and I will pass your previous advice on to my computer shop as it looks a bit beyond my expertise.

If my folders and contacts are "in the application", is there a way to copy the application off the old disk and search within it?

I always keep my apps up to date with the latest updates, so perhaps I was on the version with the Import/Export feature, but can that be of any use in my situation?

Further on Import/Export, can this feature used for Backup & Restore?

Any further suggestions will be greatly appreciated as I'm in a lot of trouble.
