We have nearly identical macbooks with IDENTICAL mail server settings. One can send emails and the other cannot. The emails show in the sent folder but never get to the recipient. There is no error message. There are very minor version differences: Good email- macbook pro early 2015 A1502, os 10.13.6, tbird 102.5.1, firefox 86.0.1

Bad email macbook the same, os 10.13.3, tbird 102.5.1, firefox 106.0.3 Bluehost email service and website We have no outgoing firewalls/filters on the machines.

We just do not use the macbook for sending emails. It is a hassle. I recently contributed to Thunderbird. We do not update software if we can avoid it because sometimes things break when you do. I have not called Bluehost since their customer service went overseas and is crummy now.

I am using Thunderbird Version 102.5.1 but the problem started when I upgraded to Thunderbird Version 102. I was waiting to see if it would go away but it has not. My machine is a Mac using Big Sur(11.7) and my email is POP. The problem is that Thunderbird DOES NOT retrieve messages from the server which were "undeleted". In other words if you select "undo delete message" and had retrieved only the message header the "undo etc." works but Thunderbird does not then retrieve the message from the server. You have to login directly to the server to view the message. Does anyone know of a Thunderbird solution to this problem?

Why does an imap account, (in this case redundant), keep asking for p/w despite being set to off-line? How does one stop this?

The option to Keep Messages on this Computer is selected. The msgs & attachments physically exist and can easily be viewed after clicking cancel at every P/W prompt.

It is just so annoying that there appears to be no way to stop this behavior.

Copying folder content to local folders usually fails after the first couple of messages (if one selects multiple messages), and one can not copy over 30,000 messages one by one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I recently had a major crash in Thunderbird and following a long and tedious process I now have it more or less back up and running. There seem to be two things I have been unable to fix. The first is that hyperlinks now no longer open from emails. I have been through all the steps contained in the artic;e"https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hyperlinks-in-messages-not-working" and cannot find anything wrong. I did change a couple of the config settings that looked like they might apply but nothing changed.

I am at a loss as to where to proceed next.

(As an aside the above article must have been written some time ago because it indicates that Preferences are in the 3 dashes menu whuch it isn't. After much fluffing around I eventually determined it must mean the Config Editor)

The second problem I have is that the "Insert" menu item has disappeared from the top menu bar and right clicking on the bar to customise does not show it as an option.

Are these two issues related?

After a recent catastrophic failure of my hard drive, I'm starting anew with a fresh install on Windows (102.5.1 64 bit). The install seemed to go fine, and adding accounts went fine, but Thunderbird is not displaying any folders or messages. This thread seemed to be closest to my problem, but the solutions that applied did not work, and the extended discussion seemed to diverge from my problem.

Problem: No folders or messages being displayed Details: - Accounts seem to be connected - I am getting pop up alerts when new messages come in - I CAN send emails using "Write" - This is a default install with no add-ons added yet, just trying to get startup functionality - using IMAP

I have several gmail accounts that I am using on my Thunderbird program. Recently, when I send a message from any of my accounts it always appears to be coming from just one of them. Earlier searching on the help site suggested that I needed to set a different name for each accounts outgoing smtp server. When I try to do this, changing any one of them resets the outgoing email for all of them. How do I fix this? I have separate gmail accounts for different purposes. It has been very inconvenient sending a personal email and then that person replies and it comes back on my work email. Appreciate any clarification and help on this. Thanks

When using Thunderbird as a Gmail IMAP client, whenever an email is moved out of the Inbox (eg accidentally deleted, moved to a folder, etc), I cannot seem to get it back to the Inbox. If I use the Gmail web app, then I can move the email to the Inbox (and it shows up in the Gmail web app Inbox), but it doesn't appear in the Thunderbird Inbox. All the emails show up in 'All Mail', but the only emails in the Inbox are new ones arriving from the outside. Also, this observation seems only to apply to the Inbox; other folders (ie labels in Gmail) seem to be OK as far as moving emails in and out of them. I am using Thunderbird 102.5.0. Any ideas?

I have extensive computer experience as I went to college for computer science, was a network admin and a programmer as well as a web designer/coder so it is not an issue of ignorance. It happens intermitantly. Doesn't seem to follow a pattern in respect to who the emails are from.

I don't want emails stored on some remote server. I download what I want, delete what I don't. But this doesn't work when on the server, all the emails are still there.

It appears that only drafts and sent mails made on the website can be seen on the website, and only those made in Thunderbird can be seen in Thunderbird.

I've heard of a manual way to move things around, but which seems overly complicated to me. I don't trust I would manage to do it correctly even once, let alone on a continual basis. Too many opportunities to mess up, and I certainly would.

I need it to be about as simple as it is for my other email accounts.

I'd like to know how to make Thunderbird automatically keep all the folders on my Netzero accounts synced up, so that all my sent mails and drafts are available from both the website and in Thunderbird.

My current version is 102.5.1 on Windows 10. I connect to my mail server via POP and have the majority of my mail filtered with rules to local folders. Prior to the v91 update all new mail would trigger the popup alert that would display sender, subject line, etc. Since the v91 update the only new mail that triggers this popup alert is the mail that is not filtered to a local folder and remains in the inbox. All new mail that is filtered to local folders will still play the notification sound and display a red "new mail" dot on the tray icon, but does not show the popup alert. I've tried every variation of alert settings in the preferences to fix this and it still is not working. I often miss that new mail has arrived because the red dot in the tray icon is not enough to grab my attention like the popup is. Is there a way to make this work the way it used to where the popup alert happens on every new email regardless of what folder it ends up in?

Korzystam z Thunderbird Portable 102.5.1 (64 bity) i mam problem z kalendarzem. Jak tworzę nowy kalendarz, obojętnie zdalny czy lokalny (import z pliku .ics), to po prawej stronie, w sekcji Bieżące / Events pojawiają się najbliższe wydarzenia, ale widok jest dostępny tylko do następnego uruchomienia Thunderbirda albo do zmiany daty – po 24:00 wydarzenia znikają. Nie umiem sobie z tym poradzić i praktycznie codziennie muszę zakładać/importować nowy kalendarz, który mam i na koncie Gmail i zapisany na dysku. Zaimportowałem też PolishHolidays.ics ze strony www.thunderbird.net (by Artur Majcherczak) i z tym kalendarzem nie mam żadnych problemów – święta są widoczne po każdym uruchomieniu TP. Proszę o pomoc.

Hi all, Since December 5th Thunderbird seems not to be working. It's just endlessly loading without displaying my new emails (even though I know I have new ones) on all of my accounts, which are from warious mailboxes. A few weeks ago, one of my accounts stopped working as well and thunderbird told me that the password was incorrect (even though it is the right one, I was able to log in on Outlook with it and was able to receive e-mails - and even though my other Outlook accounts were still perfectly working on thunderbird), so I just stopped trying for this mail adress. However, now none of them seems to be receiving emails. I don't have any error message or anything saying my passwords are incorrect though, so this must be another problem. Another of my accounts kept opening tabs in thunderbird asking me to log in on the website of the mailbox (it's a professional one from a university), and that had never happened before. I tried turning off and on my computer, closing and reopening the window (about a dozen times), deleting one of my accounts on thunderbird and trying to add it again - and it's still endlessly loading trying to "check the password". Even though, again, I am 100% positive it is the right one - copied pasted it and everything. Does anyone know what's going on ? It seems to be a Thunderbird problem since I'm still receiving my emails on other apps and everything, but I haven't seen anything on it online. It's becoming a bit frustrating. Thank you !

TB 102.5.1 (64-Bit), Windows 10 When I want to add a new date or change an existing one, the window does not pop up. However, hovering over the TB taskbar icon, I can see the window as a thumbnail. Very annoying bug, I believe was introduced with the 102.5.1 release.
