I have multiple email account settings like Alibaba, Netease and Gmail.
I found Alibaba account do not notify me new message arrival until maually click the subfolder, it annoyes me.
I have done all the solution i can found on the web and dig into the source code, check bellow.
1. Solution 1: change global config as http://kb.mozillazine.org/Checking_for_new_messages_in_other_folders_-_Thunderbird#IMAP wiki issues. NOT WORKING!!!
2. Solution 2: mark folder as sync and subscribe. solution detail.
3. Solution 3: Source code inspect.
1) get new message for non inbox folder. doc
2) updateStatus
3. updateFolderStatus
4. then i use python check server folder status
