Have one PC that thunderbird is crashing on. Program appears on the screen for a second or two then crashes, then I get the crash report popup. I tried starting thunderbird in safe mode and had the same results. Here are the last two crash reports, I have more if needed. bp-69869915-73ce-42e9-ab1b-30bbf0221122 bp-2b617d21-dc6c-4dcb-863f-27ff50221122

Running Win 10 (22H2) and Thunderbird 102.5.0 (32 bit).

Adding Yahoo to email, POP server. Using recommended server configurations. When clicked on DONE, a popup browser from Yahoo occurs with username filled in, then asks to prove not a robot (captcha), then asks for password. Finally agree for Thunderbird to access Yahoo email. Goes to check login and after some time presents the message "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." Repeated attemps goes through the cycle of the popup from Yahoo to give Thunderbird access to Yahoo email.

An email is sent by Yahoo indicating a sign in on Thunderbird. Clicked on Advanced settings to save settings. When click on Get Messages the Yahoo popup appears the give Thunderbird access to Yahoo email. This is repeated every time for Get Messages. Email at Yahoo says sign on Thunderbird has accurred.

No messages are ever dowloaded to Thunderbird. Yahoo seems to know an attempt was made to sign on to Yahoo with Thunderbird but Yahoo does not accept credentials to download the emails to Thunderbird.

What other settings need to be checked to make this work.

I just installed Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 HP Notebook, I've been using Thunderbird on my older Windows 10 notebook for quite a while. Here is the problem on my new install:

Marking Emails as "Spam" (the Flame) Thunderbird does NOT move them to Spam Folder! I just leaves it in the Inbox!! This does NOT happen on my older install on the Win 10 notebook!

Also the "Run Junk Mail Controls" has never done a damn thing on any install I have, Thunderbird NEVER Learns and never blocks or send SPAM to the Spam Folder! Both Yahoo and Hotmail/Live/ etc have "Block senders" in their Email apps, when is Mozilla gong to get Up To Speed here!!??

I use an email list comprised of approx 38 contacts. When I use the list, several contacts are dropped from it, i.e., the email is not sent to these contacts. I know this because after learning these contacts did not receive the mail, I checked the contacts (in the "bcc") against the list I created. The names were missing from the bcc but not from the actual list. Can someone explain why the contacts are dropped? Is there a maximum number of contacts that can be included in a list? I have installed an add on which allows contacts and event synchronization with my office 365 account, so the personal address book is not needed and so I wish to hide it from the address book pane for simplicity sake. I see the delete button is greyed out. That sucks. Can this button be otherwised removed via chrome.css or about:config?

I am using TB 102.5.0 and have successfully created several accounts. However, when editing the SMTP Server settings, the Oauth2 option is not shown in the Authentication Method list.

One gmail account was automatically configured for Oauth2 for the SMTP server when the account was created, but if a new gmail server is added to the SMTP list, the option is not available.

Cookies are enabled for websites.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.

About 2 months ago I started getting errors accessing Yahoo mail in Thunderbird. I deleted the account and set up my IMAP according to the recommendations on the Yahoo site for third party apps. I have TB 102.4.2 64 bit on my HP desktop running Ubuntu 22.04. I have repeatedly, at least 20 times reconfigured to no avail. I have used TB with no problem for over 10 years. Back a few months ago I did set an application password for Yahoo as well.

I have looked at the solutions posted over and over again but no suggestions work.

Here are my settings: Incoming mail: Server Name: imap.mail.yahoo.com Port: 993 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: OAuth2 User Name: Myname@yahoo.com

Outgoing Mail: Server Name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: OAuth2 User Name: Myname@yahoo.com

What gives?

I noticed this on version 91.13.1. Here is the steps to replicate this bug:

1. Search for a particular persons email address (you have to search exactly for that user or otherwise open a message from that user in the search list)

2. Write new message

3. Enter the email address you just searched for as the recipient and watch as a new tab gets opened containing the previous search result you just looked for.

Here's a video showcasing the problem.

I find this really annoying, since I didn't ask for that search result tab to open itself. I was really hoping this would get fixed in the latest build, but it seems I have to reinstall the old version because there is no added benefit to me of using the new version.

I have all of my contacts in Thunderbird via integration with Google Contacts. My contacts are also synched with the native contacts in my iPhone and iPad. It used to work perfectly and automatically sync and everything. For some reason, it no longer suggests email addresses from my contacts as I type-in email addresses in the TO, CC or BCC line. I wanted to know if the updates to a specific RSS folder can be paused, no matter what. I find getting updates to a specific folder even after pausing. And there is no Unpause or something in the context menu of that folder. I doubt whether this feature works at all!!

I generally get updates by pressing Shift + F5.

For historic reasons (25 years of use :/ ) I view messages in each mailbox by date, ascending, unthreaded. I'm currently using v.102.2.2 (64 bit) on Ubuntu 20.04.

The global setting of view - > sort -> threaded has just switched on all by itself, bit annoying because at first I thought all sorts of messages had been deleted...

I can change to "unthreaded" on a mailbox by mailbox basis except that I have 14,000-odd mailboxes.

I have changed the global settings using: Edit -> settings -> scroll down, clock on "config editor" button Edit "mailnews.default" Set: mailnews.default_news_sort_order 1 (ascending) mailnews.default_news_sort_type 18 (sort on date) mailnews.default_sort_order 1 (ascending) mailnews.default_sort_type 18 (sort on date)

except that although mailnews.default_news_sort_type was set to 22 (threaded) and I have changed it to 18 on a stable basis (it stays at 18) I never use news and so the value for mailnews.default_sort_type was 18 all along.. and the global sort setting (found by looking at a random mailbox) is still set to "threaded" - as if "mailnews.default_sort_type" is not being read. Ideas?

Hi,

i using Lighting with different calenders (google as well as groupware). This works like a charm. I can make new entries, i can send and accept invitations and choose the according calendar!

However, i like to copy all entries from Calendar A to Calendar B(google) AND keep them up to date. So whenever a new entry pops up on Calendar A it shall be copy pasted into Calendar B. (It's fine if they get only copied whenever thunderbird is tunning on my PC) I do not care about any features that i might lose that way. Its only necessary that everyone in Calendar B can see the events from Calendar A. No inviting, no other users, no editing is necessary.

I hope someone could help me about this. I probably not the only one with different calendars ;)

One of our users, cannot receive or send emails. Getting error ""NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource" (this error shows at the bottom of the Thunderbird email client). Her Thunderbird email client was recently automatically updated to the latest version 102.5.0 via an update schedule in a package deployment software (PDQ). Since the version was updated, the user is receiving this error. The previous version that worked was 102.4.2(also installed via PDQ). Checked the server and account settings in user Thunderbird and everything settings wise are the same as before. Thinking the Thunderbird client could be blocked, I tried to allow the Thunderbird app in the user local Windows Firewall settings and tried turning off the local firewall but no difference. I tried to uninstall and reinstall ver 102.5.0 but no change. Tried to reinstall the last version that worked in 102.4.2 but same results. Even tried to install a much older version 78.1.1 just for grins but it gave me a message since her profile had been updated to use a newer version so installing older version would not work I since reinstalled 102.5.0 back on the user computer. Besides the Thunderbird auto updated to ver 102.5.0, the only other changes on the user computer were 3 new windows updates that installed on her computer on 11/18/22 (KB5019959, KB5020613, Servicing Stack 10.0.19041.2180). Tried to uninstall the KB5019959 but haven't try uninstalling the 2 other windows updates. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

TB 102.5.0 (64-bit) on Win10 I'm getting repeated notices that my e-mail accounts with Network Solutions don't have a proper "certificate" when I try to send an email. I get a popup window stating so, and asking me to "permanently" choose the exception. It doesn't matter how many times I tell the fool thing to accept the exception "permanently". I still keep getting the notice every few times. Since the glitch is not consistent, I don't have an image of one to put here. Not only that, I have to send the email twice after doing so. TB refuses to send the email the first time after choosing the exception, but allows it the second. I don't know anything about "certificates" and am sick of getting popup notices about them. I doubt that the problem is with Network Solutions email accounts. This reminds me of years ago, when I tried to upgrade to WinXP. It kept interrupting my work to give me popup security notices that I didn't understand and couldn't do anything about. If I remember correctly, I took it back to Sam's Club and replaced it with Win2000. Problem solved. Never mind that XP was supposed to be better. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Hello there.

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird on a windows 11 computer with two screens and Brave as a browser.

I have Thunderbird on the left screen and I have a problem, that can be solved in two, which I can't find either of.

When ever I am watching a movie or something else in fullscreen on the screen where Thunderbird is, I can't see the notifications popping up, as I would, when I do not have a fullscreen feature.

I am looking either for a solution to where the notification for a new email can override this fullscreen or I can move it to my other screen. I can't find anything that can do that.

Can you help me?
