I have had my email provider spend hours on this problem. In Thunderbird I can receive emails, but not if I send them to myself(from browser outside of Thunderbird). I cannot send any emails. - My email provider's mail box web page does work satisfactorily for send and receive. - I set up Bluemail and it works fine for send and receive. So Thunderbird (TH) is isolated as a problem. We have tried to vary all settings. Mail administrator also involved.

Thunderbird SMTP error is - 'Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing sender (SMIP) mail.tpg.com.au failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again'. '

Settings: Inbox- POP3, server mail.tpg.com.au, connections STARTTLS, normal password. Port 110. SMTP- server mail.tpg.com.au, connections SSL, normal password. Port465.

Bizarrely, my wife has a joint email account with me, and has the same problem. Could it be an update problem? We have most recent 102.5.0 64 bit. Thanks for any help someone can give.

Hi, I needed to clean up my Inbox as there were a few corrupted emails there which couldn't be deleted and prevented the Compacting process. Firstly I created a new temporary folder and moved (dragged) all the good emails to this folder. I then ran a Repair Folder on the Inbox and all the corrupted emails disappeared - all good so far. I then attempted to move all the emails from the temporary folder back into the Inbox folder - this removed all the emails from the temporary folder but nothing appeared in the Inbox. I checked all my other folders and the emails are nowhere to be found. Please advise how I can get all my missing emails back. Thank you

Have one PC that thunderbird is crashing on. Program appears on the screen for a second or two then crashes, then I get the crash report popup. I tried starting thunderbird in safe mode and had the same results. To give a bit of Context I work in IT and although I don't special in Thunderbird by any means, I have set up multiple users with Thunderbird, I've migrated from Windows Live Mail (WLM) plenty of times in the past.

I had a customer who was using WLM 2012 on her laptop and still using the POP settings.

I was trying to migrate her out of Windows Live Mail into Thunderbird, used the Add-On "ImportExportTools NG" to import the emails that I was able to successfully Export from WLM.

I've used this Add-on several times with no problems, not that I believe the issue has anything to do with the add-on but I believe giving the most information to help resolve this issue is best.

After the e-mails were imported into the Local Folders, there was 2 Parent Folders with a lot of sub-folders which she sorted her e-mails into.

Both folders uploaded successfully, I can login to Webmail with her e-mail and I can see all the folders, all of the emails that I've uploaded all show up and are accessible.

Now, when I look in Thunderbird, I can see ALL of the folders, both Parent folders and ALL sub folders. In the first Parent Folder I can see all of the e-mails that are in each sub-folder without a problem.

Second Parent Folder shows all of the subfolders, but it does not display a single e-mail throughout any of the folders. -Clicked on each folder for it to "Update" -Tried to deleted the .MSF files related to those folders, no change. -Tried to go into the Properties and ensure that these folders were Subscribed. -Tried to Repair the folder(s) -Tried to select Download Now under Synchronization -Tried to edit the Retention Policy in case there was somehow a setting on the mail server that was stopping them from display.

I then simply Uninstalled Thunderbird, deleted the entire Thunderbird folder from %appdata%\Local that contains the folders and information, but when I re-added the account it re-downloaded everything Except that same problem folder...

I'm hopeful that someone has ideas as to how to resolve this type of issue, if there are any ideas please share them. I'm quite comfortable doing some advanced tests/fixes.

Each morning when I wake up my Mac(I do not turn it off and just have a hot corner set up to put Mac to sleep as, I have done for many years) this new 102.3.1 will not connect with server to download messages. You have to quit App and open it again for it to work. It has only started doing this after updating to 102.3.1

I have seen this question already asked on here, but no answers of any use thus far.

Another issue is that Accounts has been removed from Tools. Why oh why do Thunderbird keep messing about unnecessarily with features for no good reason? There is far too much messing about and people do not have that time to trawl through reams of typed information to continue using an App that used to work properly. In the release notes it says, "Account settings moved to macOS application menu". What does this mean? It was fine where it was under "Tools" .

Companies seem to forget that people use many different applications on many platforms and are not just having to deal with one outfit that likes to overcomplicate things on a regular basis. Settings need simplifying by companies and not overindulgence by designers/software writers.

can you please help me use Thunderbird, until recently, i was able to use the Mail client program Mozilla Thunderbird, which we had on my computer before. Since October 7, Thunderbird cannot synchronize messages - the message, login to server outlook.office 365.com with username....failed. Has something changed in the settings and how can we use Thunderbird again? Sending a picture of the problem in attachment.

Hi, For a few months now, I've had random issues with mail attachments. I cannot find specific conditions but it seems some attachments are not correctly downloaded by thunderbird while others are. In my latest issue, it concerns a pdf file attached to an email i received. If I try to open the file, thunderbird show a blank tab. If I download the file on my computer, I get a corrupted pdf file that is only 34bytes (thunderbird says it should be 218Kb). On another recent email, a 506Kb attached pdf file is working correctly. It is a gmail account and if I go to the gmail webmail, I can see/download the file correctly

Any help would be appreciated

since three or for days now the text in about 1/4 th of my E-Mails received in my inbox cannot be seen anymore. There is no text anymore displayed in the textfield, in messages where there was text before!!

It does ABSOLUTELY NOT DEPEND !!! on special types of messages. there are messages which I send to myself, with Attachements or not, with Graphics. etc in the textfiel or NOT !!! The error occurs in all kind of messages.

It has nothing to do with Junk or s. th. else. I´m woking with thunderbird for about 20 years now, I never had such an error! I installed a new installer "above" it. I also used the Error - restore - mode. Nothing happens, the error stays the same :-(

I tried -> Forwarding or s.th. else with the messages -> same issue -> the messages arrives with no text in it, too. I made no changes in thunderbird, I have no Plug-Ins or a.th. else installed, no Add-ons installed. The error just happened from one moment on. I have thunderbird on another laptop, too. here it still works normally, the same E-Mails are still ok there, means, the text is seen normally, like it was on my PC, where the problem is, before, too. In Screenshot you see an example where the text is missing.

Hope for a solution.

Nearly every day I have to quit Thunderbird and reopen it as, it will not connect to my server. This means that all the viewing criteria and spending/descending has to be reset and is a real drag. As soon as I reopen Thunderbird it works normally again.

I have used the same connection details for years and it is just the last two Thunderbird versions that have replicated this issue. It's not always every morning when I wake my iMac up, but normally happens then or, later during the day.

I asked this question for 102.3.1 but received no answers so, I am hoping that there will be an answer to this.
