Why do I have four (4!) inboxes for one account in Thunderbird? Each one shows a different quantity of unread emails!

I cannot set up thunderbird. I enter my email and email password and get a message indicating that one configuration was found. I hit done and get a message "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." I am using the correct information so do not know what is going on.
I need help....can someone call me?
thunderbird mail - mail page shrunk (I pushed something unknowingly) and I can't get it reset
