I have two Firefox email systems. One works perfectly. The other suddenly stopped showing the screen of inbox messages. I can scroll over the blank space and the message will display in the lower part of the monitor, but not in the upper screen of subjects, sender, date. How do I return to default setting?

Hello!

I am trying to install Thunderbird on my Lenovo chromebook and I am running into a issue of the file not opening. I downloaded Firefox through my chromebook's Linux software but I do not know the steps to repeat for Thunderbird. I'd greatly appreciate a walk along since I'm not great with Linux and its terminal.

Thank you in advance, Mario

I have performed many searchers on the Internet and on this website to locate where the message filters are kept on FF v.98. If I go under the hamburger menu there is no "Tools" entry only "more Tools." If I access Tools on the MenuBar there is no Message Filter entry.

It used to be quite simplye Mozilla needs to follow the lead of smartphones who have the exact same problem with users attempting to find the controls whose locations change in every update. Their solution is a built-in search lookup app. Instead of making users "go hunt" the smartphone app allows the user to ask the app to find what they are looking for. That's why they are called "smartphones."

As for now, I need to know if my version of FF has bugs or if not how to I modify my message filters?

Thanks

Within the last few days Tbird has suddenly started using 24hr time format for everything; both message dates and the calendar rather than the desired 12hr AM/PM. I've made no changes and can't figure out how to change it back. Possibly caused by an update to either Thunderbird, Linux Mint or the Linux kernel, all of which occur pretty regularly - can't say. Only update that looks like it could possibly be causing it is tzdata update from 2021a-0ubuntu0.18.04 to 2021a-2ubuntu0.18.04 on 2021-10-06.

Hello dear team,

apparently TB 78.14 had two parallel processes in installation before 92.1.0 ?

In version 78.14 - I had dark mode and then apparently there was graphics error (due to NVIDIA ?) - this way then a light grey TB was running in background while TB 78.14 with dark mode running in foreground.

Now with 92.1.0 this has gone away - but each time I open and close TB then this message appears in terminal (of Solus 4.3).

I have installed 92.1.0 after I deleted the folder "thunderbird" - but have taken over the settings in folder "./.." :

' ' ' egg@home ~/Downloads/thunderbird $ ./thunderbird

      1. !!! [Parent][RunMessage] Error: Channel closing: too late to send/recv, messages will be lost

egg@home ~/Downloads/thunderbird $

' ' '

There is still a second parent process seeking connection or what does this mean ?! Or is this harmless ?

Greetings!!! I'm copy-pasting this from the Thunderbird Support matrix channel. I have been Google-ing and DuckDuckGo-ing and cannot find an easy solution, and I'm not a developer and do not understand how flatpaks talk :(

I cannot get the flatpak'd version of Thunderbird to open attachments in other Flatpaks e.g. an attached docx file will not open in Flatpak'd LibreOffice and pdf files will not open with Flatpak'd Evince

I'm currently trying different places/permissions for the Thunderbird Flatpak to have access too like xdg-portal and org.freedesktop.Desktop under system and session bus using Flatseal

Hello,

When receiving a message, Thunderbird considers a line containing "--" to be a signature start mark and automatically removes all following lines (instead of quoting it) when editing the reply.

I want to disable this behavior. (The content of my (reply) message is my responsibility, I dislike automation on my authoring. ;-) )

So, how to configure this?

Regards.
