my thunderbird email was set up in a way that if i would delete an email on thunderbird it would also delete it from my mail app on my iphone. which is fine but on the other hand when i would delete the email on my phone, it would stay in thunderbird on my pc (which is the way i want it to be). Now for some reason something changed and when i delete an email from my phone it also deletes it from TB on my pc. how do i go back to how it was ? thanks

I see this question has been asked often, but I can't find an answer. So apologies if I waste time repeating other threads.

I keep getting a popup on starting Thunderbird. If may not appear every time, but often. It tells me I cannot upgrade to the latest version and that I need to download a fresh copy. If I dismiss the pop-up, I can continue to use Thunderbird. And if I look under Help, About, it tells me that I have the latest version. If I look further, the version I do have is 102.2.2, which I gather is indeed the latest.

I had Thunderbird set to alert me to new versions so that I then set the upgrade in motion as I also do with Firefox. Of course, that made the popup's pronouncement of failure doubly puzzling, as I had not asked it to try. Further, just in case it might solve this issue, I changed settings so that Thunderbird would update automatically. That has not helped. Same popup message persists.

What can and should I do? Thank you,

On September 20,2022 I upgraded my Thunderbird account to the last version 102.3. When I was deleting a message on my computer windows 10, the same message was being deleted on my i-phone 13 and i-pad at the same time. After the last version update, it doesn't delete any more. Ever since the big upgrade a few weeks ago (the one that introduced the Spaces Toolbar), email addresses that SHOULDN'T be giving me a notification of new mail, are. It's very annoying to then go to the program and discover it's an unimportant email I've been alerted to.

More detailed explanation: I use the global inbox to receive email from 7 different email addresses. I've set up a complex set of filters to colour code the emails and some of them are set to be marked-as-read as soon as they arrive. They're the kind of emails I want to read the next time I look at the program but don't want to be alerted to them. But since the recent upgrade to Thunderbird a few weeks ago, I now get alerted that new email has arrived in my system tray (icon with red dot) and 'Local Folders' (the words) are bold and blue, even when these 'marked-as-read' emails arrive. Is there anyway to stop being notified that emails that are meant to arrive silently do not trigger notifications? It worked perfectly before the recent big upgrade.

I'm currently on Thunderbird 102.3.1 (Windows 10). I haven't changed anything about my email.

I am running Windows 11 Pro , 64 bit, and just updated to version 21H2. When I did so, my Thunderbird (102.3.1) immediately started opening with a black background and white letters, which is the opposite of what it has in the past. I want to go back... can't seem to find a way to do it. The closest I could come is getting the preview pane and the message itself to open correctly, but the window listing emails is unchanged. Help, please!

TBird accessing mail.twc.com servers for outbound spectrum email. (post update?) All of a sudden; mail stopped sending. Have done a bunch of trouble shooting, including trying other email clients. Spoke to customer support, they swear nothing has changed on their end in 2 years. Verified ad nauseum correct settings are in place. even tried tweaking, just to see but no luck. Any guidance? Or can someone test TBird with the twc outbound servers?

PS Yes using webmail version does work... so they state there's no IP issue?

Hello, using latest Thunderbird (102.3.0). Only 1 addon - "Manualy sort folders".

4 works emails (IMAP), 1 gmail.

All accounts have in thunderbird at home and thunderbird in computer at work. If I change for example filters or something, I must do this again in another computer too.

Is there any way to sync settings, accounts, filters etc.?

Maybe if I will use Syncthing for sync profiles folder between computers, will it work? Thank you.

Thunderbird has just upgraded. I've eventually got my emails back but now find I have this problem. This question has already been asked but is in archive now and the answer to it was to go to Account Settings and then Composition and Addressing and click on 'Automatically quote original message when replying' but that is already clicked, so I'm stumped. Any ideas anyone?

Today I received from Ubuntu's repo the update to Thunderbird 102.2.2.

I have 2 address books. In the window for composing a new message I get suggestions only from the default address book.

Prior to Thunderbird 102 I used to receive suggestions from all my address books.

How to fix it?

Although Thunderbird is no longer part of Mozilla, Tbird "help" links to this list. I am using Ubuntu 22.04LTS current, but I do NOT use either Ubuntu .deb Tbird or Firefox, but load directly from Tbird or Mozilla. Under the web interface to gmail, both Google Chrome (google native) and Firefox show my folder list with Inbox on top. Tbird shows Inbox under the list of folders in alphabetical order and does not allow me to move it "up". Note that Tbird uses IMAP, not the web based interface. Why the difference?

In server settings I've turned off check for new messages at startup and check for new messages every x minutes, and allow immediate server notifications. I've restarted thunderbird. This account had 2sa turned on. It still tries to connect?

This is the message I get when I send using Thurderbird, with the new version 102.3.0.

  "Sending of the message failed.
  The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.optusnet.com.au failed. 
  The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server 
  (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."

I changed the settings and still get the same error. I checked the settings and still get the same error. I restarted computer and the modem etc. The server is still working, as I can use webmail to send emails, and they work. I can only assume something in the new version has changed the way the settings are read.

Since a few days (last update), I can't use Thunderbird, when I launch it, it blocks completely.

I have the impression that this is due to gmail (anyway I wanted to delete it) but as it is impossible to delete it because the program does not open, I wanted to know if it was possible to delete it otherwise?

I already tried to launch the program in safe mode, but no improvement; I also tried to reinstall it over it, nothing better.
