I have just switched from MS Mail to Thunderbird. I imported my contacts list, and it seems fully stored and readable in Contacts. However, when I select a contact and click on the 'To' box, the name loads into the email To line, but not the email address. The name is red. What am I doing wrong, or is there something Ihave still to set up?

Running Win 10 (22H2) and Thunderbird 102.5.0 (32 bit).

Adding Yahoo to email, POP server. Using recommended server configurations. When clicked on DONE, a popup browser from Yahoo occurs with username filled in, then asks to prove not a robot (captcha), then asks for password. Finally agree for Thunderbird to access Yahoo email. Goes to check login and after some time presents the message "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." Repeated attemps goes through the cycle of the popup from Yahoo to give Thunderbird access to Yahoo email.

An email is sent by Yahoo indicating a sign in on Thunderbird. Clicked on Advanced settings to save settings. When click on Get Messages the Yahoo popup appears the give Thunderbird access to Yahoo email. This is repeated every time for Get Messages. Email at Yahoo says sign on Thunderbird has accurred.

No messages are ever dowloaded to Thunderbird. Yahoo seems to know an attempt was made to sign on to Yahoo with Thunderbird but Yahoo does not accept credentials to download the emails to Thunderbird.

What other settings need to be checked to make this work.

I get the following error message when trying to send an email with attachment

Sending of the message failed. SSL peer reports incorrect Message Authentication Code. The configuration related to smtp.comcast.net must be corrected

How do I fix this?

On the mail tab, the email list's "Subject" column is not left-justified (or maybe it's left-padded). However, my other columns like "Correspondents" and "Date" are left-justified. Because of the extra left-hand space in the "Subject" column, the subject line shown is reduced by about 5-7 letters.

I have my layout setup as vertical panes. For ease-of-reading/navigation I won't be switching over to a horizontal layout, even though I can have wider columns in that layout.

Please refer to the yellow-highlighted area on the attached picture.

Is there a solution for having "Subject" line up like the other columns?

We have used Thunderbird for 20+ years, and have had no problems until the latest update yesterday. Now, we can only send e-mail from one of the 2 Comcast accounts for which we are using Thunderbird. If we try sending from the other account, the following error message shows up: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Please ensure your email address and authenticating user match when sending messages. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." I have gone through all settings, and noticed that, for both "identities", the server is configured to use the same user name, when the other email account has a different email address. I have tried editing the server settings, adding a new identity, and no luck. Very frustrating. Again, this started yesterday after Thunderbird performed an update.

I just installed Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 HP Notebook, I've been using Thunderbird on my older Windows 10 notebook for quite a while. Here is the problem on my new install:

Marking Emails as "Spam" (the Flame) Thunderbird does NOT move them to Spam Folder! I just leaves it in the Inbox!! This does NOT happen on my older install on the Win 10 notebook!

Also the "Run Junk Mail Controls" has never done a damn thing on any install I have, Thunderbird NEVER Learns and never blocks or send SPAM to the Spam Folder! Both Yahoo and Hotmail/Live/ etc have "Block senders" in their Email apps, when is Mozilla gong to get Up To Speed here!!??

Since shortly I notice that the color of the original text of a message that I forward or that I reply on, changes from black to blue. Someone might have thought that that is a nice new feature, but the blue is so light that it cannot be printed to a readable form. How can I change that in Thunderbird, so that I can keep the original black color and print a forwarded text?

I want to delete old entries rfrom my address book. When I select an address I click on it I then have to click on edit which then asks if I want tyo delete. This is a long way round as I have numerous deletions to make. Is there a quicker way to delete an address from the address book? I am using Thunderbird 102.5.0 Thank you.

Hello,

Before posting this question I tried different searches and I couldn't find something or someone who had this problem.

Suddenly today I realize in one of my accounts, I have 12 accounts, in TB that the sub-folders of different folders are all showing flat at the root level. The other folders and sub-folders still have the normal email in it, but those folders doesn't have anything.

I tried the procedure for ghost folders, deleting and adding the account. I even went on the profile folder and deleted cache file etc... Nothing. I de-installed, deleted the profile folder, deleted the data folder (I store datas separately), added the account and bingo... all those frigging folders are back.

FYI: I added this account into Outlook and I don't have those folders, neither on my Android phone.

TB: 102.5.0 (64-bit) Eng MacOS: 10.15.7 Eng

Can some one help me on fixing this?

Hello to all,

I am experiencing an empty folder panel problem since last Friday. Profile is still alive and files present, TB is uploading incoming mails but not showing any since it is not showing any folder in the Folder Panel.

The error consol gives the below initial problem :

11:37:39,791 Uncaught (in promise) Exception { name: "NS_ERROR_FAILURE", message: "error executing async statement", result: 2147500037, filename: "resource:///modules/calendar/CalStorageDatabase.jsm", lineNumber: 204, columnNumber: 0, data: null, stack: "handleCompletion@resource:///modules/calendar/CalStorageDatabase.jsm:204:33\n", location: XPCWrappedNative_NoHelper } CalStorageDatabase.jsm:204

I found one message (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1391870?page=2) with a possible solution around replacing local.sqlite in calendar-data by backup version but this did not solve my problem.

Genius ideas and/or understanding if the above error appreciated ! :-)

In 102.5.0 and all versions I have had thus far of Thunderbird I have the usual search, plus the "filter these messages" search box underneath on the toolbar.

Until very recently I could go into any folder and just put a word and it would do a search of that folder, but has stopped doing that now. I can be in same folder and put a name and that works fine.

Does anyone know how I can get the normal response that I have had for many, many years please?

Hi, I use thunderbird 102.5.0 (64 bit) under Opensuse Linux. I have some 6 email accounts and some 50 subfolders. Obviously I use filters to redirect mails to appropriate subfolders. I have some 50 filter rules.

I observed, that some subfolders change their position without any interaction and consequently filters stop to work properly. I wonder how it is possible, that subfolders move on their own !!! I observed this some 6 times during a few months. I think this is a serious bug in thunderbird software, which i report herewith.

A couple of days ago, I could no longer send email from my Thunderbird account. This morning I was able to send five emails--but now I can't again. My ISP is Comcast, but they couldn't resolve it so said to contact you. My Thunderbird version is 102.5.0. I'm running Windows 10, Update 4.91.0.0, and Firefox 107.0.

I get this error message: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: resomta-a1p-076784.sys.comcast.net resomta-a1p-076784.sys.comcast.net CSI IP 69.4.234.63 is not permitted to send messages. Please contact support if you feel this is in error..

I have a new computer and just installed Thunderbird so I could use it for an existing account. I used Thunderbird on my old computer and wanted to keep using it on my new computer. Upon installation I initiated an automatic imap account setup. Thunderbird found the correct setting but when I attempt to save the configuration it comes back with an error message "incoming server already exists".

See the screen shot below. Any help on this will be appreciated.
