If I enter full screen I cannot get Firefox to return to the tabs, browser address window and toobar view

If I enter a full screen mode, in Facebook or a photo-viewing scenario, (I am not talking about Firefox Fullscreen Mode), I cannot get Firefox to return to the tabs, browser address window and toolbar view. I must create a new window to get back to that view, but all of my open tabs are invisible back in the other window. If I quit Firefox and restart, they come back normally. I thought it was my plugins which gave me Tabs Below, or FireFTP, but when I did a Firefox Refresh back to defaults, the same problem occurs. The way I try to get out of Facebook or a photo-viewing app full screen situation is by hitting the Escape key on my Mac keyboard.
