Firefox 114 suffers from huge memory leaks when there are videos on sites (ie. youtube). RDD Process grows up to 8GB and system becomes less responsive. Then Firefox crashes after a while, but there's no report included. I tried manually disabling extensions, but it didn't help. However, problem isn't present in 'troubleshooting mode'.

Since the update before the most recent one, web pages of major sites are not loading properly in Firefox on Mac laptop. Cannot load Hulu, MSN News, Booking.com, but they work fine on Chrome. I've used Firefox since its inception and I hate using Chrome, but it looks like I am going to have to, as I cannot get any response or support from Firefox. Is there any hope at all or should I just get used to Chrome? This is my second post--I attached screen shots to the first one, but no response, so I'm thinking they have no fix.

Basically in my online banking with chevron to login button is grayed out and won't allow me to login, including comcast account Continue button is grayed out. This is an urgent matter because I can't get comcast online application for new account completed.

I want to enable search suggestions, thus I enabled it from Settings >> Search >> Provide search suggestions (all 4 boxes are ticked). Furthermore, in about:config, I have the following parameters set to true:

• browser.search.suggest.enabled
• browser.urlbar.quicksuggest.allowPositionInSuggestions
• browser.urlbar.quicksuggest.enabled

I even downloaded the DDG extension, yet despite all that, nothing gets suggested. Just the history.

This is the case for many search engines I tried (DDG, startpage, Brave, SearXing).

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong, I've tried everything.

after Firefox updated all saved passwords and log ins are missing. I have checked and I only have one profile available. At a loss as to what to do to fix the problem. Help would be very gratefully received.

I just spent 15 minutes browsing and downloading a lot of images. When I was done I looked at my downloads folder and saw only half of them there. I checked the download history in firefox, and couldn't see some files. They were not queued or in progress. They weren't in the download list at all.

I reproduced this. I downloaded an image again. Right click, save as, click save. Then that image doesn't appear in the download history.

I tried some variations. Hitting enter instead of clicking save. Opening the image in a new tab and using ctrl-s.

Still, no image in the download history or on disk.

I quit firefox and re-openned. Still the file didn't appear on disk or in the download history.

Then I kept trying, and I got a second issue, which I think is related.

Often when I save an image, instead of one window popping up asking me where to save it, I get a second window popping up ontop of that, then a third, then a fourth. All ontop of each other. All asking the same thing. They take the focus, so it's not possible to interact with the main firefox window to continue browsing.

Sometimes if I hit enter literally 50 times then it will save the same image repeatedly, and eventually I can go back to browsing.

Sometimes there's more than 50 popup windows (my hunch is more than 100). My only solution then is to quit firefox forcefully. Which is annoying if I have state in other tabs that I don't want to lose.

This has happened many times over many weeks. It only happens on some file saves. I can't figure out why it happens on some, not others. (Right click > save, and also ctrl-s, they both do the same thing.)

This form won't let me attach a screen recording. Only screenshots. That's annoying because you can't really see the behavior from the screenshot. But I'll try. See the dark black border outside the download dialogue? That's normally a very faint transparent shadow. But because there's so many duplicate windows all exactly ontop of each other, those multiple transparent shadows have become opaque.

What you can't see from a static screenshot is that I could see each window appear ontop of the other. If I try to select the filename text and edit it, very quickly another window appears ontop with the default filename again. I can see the Firefox icon in the Gnome bar on the left shaking every time a new window pops up.

(Hmm, it looks like I can't *upload* screenshots either. I click browse, select a file, and then it doesn't get uploaded.)

I'm on Ubuntu 22.10 with Wayland.

I don't know if this issue is a bug in Firefox, or in Gnome. I've only seen this behavior with Firefox in Gnome. Not Firefox on another DE/OS. And not any other application in Gnome. This behavior has been intermittent since I bought this laptop and installed Ubuntu about a month ago.

I was wondering if anyone knew why I am having this issue. On occasion when I walk away from my computer with Firefox running (usually 20-30 minutes) I come back to find the browser itself has closed, including Private/Incognito tabs. Everything else on my computer has continued to function as per normal, nor has the computer itself seem to have restarted itself. It is only Firefox that this is happening with.

I have bought a new pc with Windows 11 home pre-installed and set Mozilla Firefox latest version as default browser ...the issue i am having is placing add-on extension shortcut icons on toolbar. I installed Norton Safe Web and this installed ok and is listed in extension control panel and when i click puzzle icon Norton Safe Web is not shown under manage shortcuts nor can i see option to Pin to Toolbar. Have tried several attempts but still get nowhere.I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox...restarted pc ... did a fresh install of Mozilla Firefox without altering any settings..re-installed Norton Safe Web and still cannot see option to Pin to Toolbar.Clicking the gear icon does not help Have i missed a step somewhere ?

Both issues are similar, but neither work as expected.

dfa is an alias for a longer name such as dfa.int.example.com. The local DNS (/etc/resolv.conf) will reply with the correct IP if asked for "dfa" but not "dfa." due to the dot forcing the Fully Qualified Domain Name to be "dfa." only. We wish to opt to leave off the rest of the url.

For the raspberry pi, it is a mDNS. So doing "rpi-m92a-ad82.local" works. But this used to work long ago, and ended 10 or 20 updates ago as best as I can remember.

How can I convince Firefox to query DNS, then query mDNS, and if both fail perform a search?

My recent activity rows have stopped updating. Before whenever I started a new show on a streaming website they would update and have the new show I was watching in the recent activity panel and that made it a lot easier for me to reopen the website and resume watching my shows but for some reason they wont update now and previous shows keep showing up.

I have an issue when displaying the contents of a list box, it contains a list of countries and does not display in alphabetical order in Firefox, but does display correctly in other browsers such as safari, chrome and edge. Is there any configuration to resolve this issue?

When using Chrome, I can easily save a website article on Google Drive from Pocket by printing as a pdf. However, when I try to perform the same activity when using Firefox, I get the dialogue box below. I really want to make Firefox my default browser but not being able to save from Pocket (or the web) to Google Drive when in Firefox is a deal breaker. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi! My windows suddenly encountered problems and I had to reinstall it, but after reinstalling win and Firefox and logging into my account, none of my data loaded to the new Firefox. Please help, for me, loosing that much of bookmarks and passwords, is just like a matter of death and life.

Im very worried, today (8th of june) I got a trojan warning from windows defender. the contamination affected this file path :

In the last few days, I have noticed that a number of websites are throwing me SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP errors. Most websites, particularly more modern websites, seem to not have this issue. As some more professional examples, www.twitch.tv and www.dndbeyond.com throw this error. I have tried setting temporarily TLS version fallback limit and min to 0, with no change. I'm not really sure how to go about debugging what cyphers these websites do support and why they are throwing these errors. Any help on where to start would be greatly apprecaited.

It even happened while I was playing MMOs, making it crash.

I am using Zone Alarm Antivirus + Firewall, which does not find any malware on my computer. I NEVER use MSN news, so for the time being I placed the site on block list.

I am very concerned with FF (up to date) launching on its own, regardless which site it opens; that could be a breach of security in FF code itself.

So slow I almost think MSFT AI has invented a thing that trips you up... After all, they're the fallback. Just saying.

I have MSFT 11 on a strong Nvidia gaming laptop. It's a fast machine. Once Firefox is open everything works fine and fast. It's just the opening.
