I have many addons and some add a context menu with specific options. One that I often use is "Copy Plain text". Can it be moved upwards, can the order of the context menu list of options for addons be customized?

I have bought a new pc with Windows 11 home pre-installed and set Mozilla Firefox latest version as default browser ...the issue i am having is placing add-on extension shortcut icons on toolbar. I installed Norton Safe Web and this installed ok and is listed in extension control panel and when i click puzzle icon Norton Safe Web is not shown under manage shortcuts nor can i see option to Pin to Toolbar. Have tried several attempts but still get nowhere.I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox...restarted pc ... did a fresh install of Mozilla Firefox without altering any settings..re-installed Norton Safe Web and still cannot see option to Pin to Toolbar.Clicking the gear icon does not help Have i missed a step somewhere ?

How do I stop firefox from preventing my mac from shutting down? All other open apps are closed and data and settings saved automatically by apple when i hit shut down but firefox just stays open and prevents shutdown until i close it manually.

I am using firefox on a debian installation base: $ firefox-esr --version Mozilla Firefox 91.13.0esr $ uname -a Linux debian 5.10.0-18-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.140-1 (2022-09-02) x86_64 GNU/Linux $ These days web pages come with all kinds of cr@p; so, at times you need to just get all the links inside the page to parse/eyeball them. What I do is grab the "page source" and/or use "Link Gopher". I have been noticing lately that they don't work anymore. Why? The problem seems to relate to javascript generated pages. When you try to see the source all you see is some javascript one liner.

Of course, firefox must have a way to show the source since it shows to you the actual page unencrypted. Which settings in about:config should you change in order to be able to "go to the source" again? lbrtchx

I'm trying to use the, "*", "%", "^", in my browser bar. What exactly do these do? After entering the shortcut I get a "Tab" or "History" button that shows up in the search bar and then after hitting enter nothing happens. Isn't this feature suppose to search inside all my open tabs and my History? Nothing happens after I hit enter.

at the very top of firefox browser are 3 rows...the highest row is the list of open tabs.....the middle row is the address bar itself with various icons....the lowest row which is the third row begins with 'import bookmarks' 'getting started' and then various website suggestions.

that 3rd row takes up space and has no useful functionality for me .....i've tried changing the settings but i can't alter it... is there a harmless way to eliminate that third row? thanks

if i have the "clear cache" addon: and i have 2 browser instances open, when i clear the cache, does it clear both instances or just the one whose button i clicked ?

After the latest update, "synced tabs" suddenly appeared in my history menu above Recently Closed Tabs. I don't use syncing of any sort so this is just a nuisance. How can I get rid of it?

To the Firefox volunteers, developers, moderators, or whoever might read this that is willing and able to do something about it: Provide a means for end users to place the Tabs below the Bookmarks on screen.

I have the latest version of firefox as of 6/8/23. I want to be able to click on a link and the + sign on the upper left webpage, (next to the tab) to open a new window, not a new tab. I have been able to do this since firefox was invented many years ago, but suddenly the option for that in settings appears to have disappared. When I uncheck the box in the tab section in settings, "open links in tabs instead of new windows", it is still opening links in tabs. Is there a way to stop the link from opening in a new tab, and instead open a window in a new browser any more? If not, I will be sad to switch over a browser that can still do this. Hopefully someone will provide a solution. While many online posts refer to a "options" button, I only see "settings" button (when I click on the three lines in the upper right).

When using an email "button" on a website to contact the owner, the email composition box that pops up always fills in the From line with my iCloud email address. How do I change that (permanently) to a different account?

I set my browser to use English instead of my local language and I expect sites to use English by default. Now for some reason Gmail showed me a "do you want to leave this page" browser dialogue in language other than English.

Turns out, there's a new(?) option to set alternative interface languages, and I suppose websites can now choose which one to use?

Wow, just noticed, even tooltips on this website aren't in English anymore. This is extremely annoying.

I'd love to remove the alternate language from that list and leave Firefox interface exclusively in English. There is no option to remove the second language, only to move priority (see screenshot).

Searching through about:config with "language" didn't help. The closest relevant result was for the dictionaries. I do not have problems with dictionaries; "alternate" did not bring any relevant results either.

I know there are ways , with more clicks or longer shortcuts to get to some folders but this is the main and most easily accessible way to get to my bookmarks. I know this has been discussed in some older posts but they are all archived so I can't ask any questions there. Sorting by name, for me, is quite inconvenient as sometimes the bookmarks title isn't immediately, easily remembered. Thanks.

Usually when I start my browser for the first time, I have the Firefox homepage only. For two weeks ago, suddenly an extra tab show up when starting: A page with a commercial for installing "Avast Online Security & Privacy (Add to Firefox-button)".

I use Avast, but I don't want this add-on. And I certainly don't want that extra tab every time I start my pc.

I have three times searched for a solution all over in the Mozilla & Avast settings and on the net: I should go to "Add-ons and themes" - "Extensions" - and on the list "Manage Your Extensions" I should remove this add-on - but it's not there of course, because I didn't install it.

So how do I remove this tab from showing at start-up? (Google Search can't help) Appauling that someone put this tab on my pc in the first place. Both Avast and Mozilla have other ways to communicate with me about that add-on, if needed. Now I had to shut it down every day for two weeks, because I was way too busy to write you until now.

Firefox 114 introduced hidden support for nvidia video super resolution. In about:config you can enable preference gfx.webrender.super-resolution.nvidia to make it work. However I see 0 difference on all videos on all pages. I have everything in nvidia control panel set correctly (VSR enabled and set to 4/4 quality).

I tried using logic too - if this pref is related to webrenderer in its name maybe it is not working because I am not using webrenderer? However I checked about:support and in section graphics->composition I have "webrenderer" so it seems I am using it, but its VSR feature is not working at all.

How can I install an add-on while using the MITM proxy?

I can't change the language my websites are being displayed in. I changed every setting to english but websites like instagram and youtube are still showing in croatian (because I live in Croatia). I will attach a couple of pictures to prove it.
