Hi all, how can I 1/ automatically forward mails 2/ in a way that attachments are NOT attached inline (even if they are incoming as inline)?

We forward all accounting emails to the accounting software. The accounting software, a SaaS, filters out all incoming emails, which have attachements attached inline.

Thus, I would like to attach all attachements "normal", not inline. Even if the attachment was attached inline originally.

Focus on an IMAP folder and watch the status bar diligently show the folders being processed on the server. When this is done, the final text in the status bar is "*account_name*: Searching folder...". But the search is complete. I believe this is a simple bit of housekeeping : when all folders have been searched, clear this label. Or if the process is async and we don't know when the search is complete, clear this generic text if it has not been changed in 2 seconds.

Any other suggestions? (Other than "ignore it"? :) )

Using TB version 102.10.1. Been recently getting messages from three different senders that I wish to delete before they hit my inbox. I read the help article at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/blocking-sender and followed the directions to set up a Block List filter, adding the senders to it. It seems to work automatically for two of the senders but not the other...I have to manually run the filter to make it work. Seems kinda pointless when, if it hits my inbox, I can just delete it anyway. Any ideas why it is still getting through the filter and how to fix it? See screenshots attached.

Desktop running Windows 10, 64 bit installation. Recently after power cycling my PC both Firefox Version 113.0.2 and Thunderbird Version 102.11.2 when launched, indicate that they have never been set up. Each programs respective Profile "????????.default" directory contain an additional file named "Invalidprefs.js". Each time this occurs, I can resolve it by erasing the entire contents of the "????????.default" directory and copy the entire contents of a good profile directory from an earlier backup. This issue started happening around the second week of May. I have been using both Firefox and Thunderbird for about 20 years and never had an issue. It appears to be related to the recent updates that where released.

I have had Firefox Version 113.0.2 running on my laptop which has Windows 11, 64 bit without issue. I installed Thunderbird Version 102.11.2 onto this laptop to see if it had the same issue as the Windows 10 desktop system. So far it works just fine.

Please let me know if you need additional information. I do not want want to run Thunderbird on my laptop permanently. I have considered downgrading Firefox to Version 112.0.2 and Thunderbird to 102.10.1 on the desktop. Rather not go though the extra work to downgrade if I don't have to.

Hi,

I hope there is one kind soul out there that are able to help me resolve this issue for a user in my organization. This is the last resort as I've been doing quiet a lot of testing to get this sorted out.

Case: - Using Outlook 365 - Have successfully added the e-mail to Thunderbird through IMAP settings - I can successfully send and receive e-mail on both desktop and mobile (using Spark on iOS)

Problem: - When I send an e-mail on desktop, it is added to "Sent" folder on mobile. - HOWEVER, the issue is when sending an e-mail from Spark (iOS), it is not seen on the "Sent" folder on desktop where Thunderbird is used. What could be the cause of this happening?

What I've tried: - Testing a lot of different settings. This is the only settings where we can both send and receive e-mail on: IMAP: outlook.office365.com / SSL TLS / OAuth2 / Port 993. SMTP: smtp.office365.com / Port 587 / OAuth2 / STARTTLS - Removing and adding account more than 10+ times - Made sure, under "Synchronization and Storage" in TB, that the top checkbox is checked (Keep all messages in all folders for this account on this computer)

I might also tell you that syncing works perfectly for everyone else, however, they are using Outlook on both mobile and desktop and using the office 365 login option. Which Thunderbird does not have.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could test or try in order for iOS and Thunderbird to sync sent msgs properly? That is, sending emails from Spark on iPhone and getting them to the Sent folder in Thunderbird on desktop.

Disappearing emails

All my mails for 2022 and up to 27 May this year have disappeared from my Thunderbird and webmail inboxes. My ISP tells they can't delete them. Where are they?

Good morning

Opening Thunderbird this morning, I saw 3400 messages in the Inbox all labelled "Cannot send mail"

These were deleted and I also looked on the CPanel to make sure the mailbox was full

Since then I am unable to send mail

I then downloaded eM client and using the same SMTP settings, was able to send mail

I backed up Thunderbird using Mozbackup, uninstalled Thunderbird, downloaded a new version (102.11.2) and restored the backup

The same problem persists

Is there perhaps a corrupt file in the Profiles folder causing this?

Instead of respecting my settings for default/preferred browser (in Linux, both in XFCE and KDE desktops) settings and instead tries to open in Firefox - which is not exactly wrong, as that is my preferred browser, *however* I've set my preferred browser to be a shell script called "firefox-open.sh" that runs the following code:

  1. !/bin/sh

firefox -P default-release "$@"

That's because I have two firefox profiles, and just setting my default browser to Firefox results in error message that says: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."

When I click on a link on Thunderbird, the same message pops out. All the rest of the applications I use respect my default browser setting, either directly following the settings, or by calling "exo-open" to open the URL, which in turn opens in my default browser. If Thunderbird used either method, it would open the links nicely in a new window.

This problem occurs on my CentOS 7 system. I know I should switch away from CentOS 7, as it's now a dead distribution. CentOS Stream exists, but it's not the same CentOS distribution and the old ones can't be upgraded to it. Because of this I'm using an outdated version of Thunderbird - I know that, and maybe upgrading it would solve the issue; however I *can't* right now, and I don't know why it does this anyway. My version of Thunderbird is 102.7.1, and I'd love to receive an answer for how I could either make it respect my default browser, or simply configure the command it uses to open link in browser - I could then just configure it to use either my script or the exo-open command, but I see no option for that in the settings, anywhere.

It's quite baffling that both the browser and the email client are from Mozilla, yet it's the only application I'm having trouble getting to open the links in Firefox correctly ;) I hope someone can advice me - other than to upgrade (believe me, I will do that just as soon as I can).

Hey,

Been using PGP with Thunderbird for some time and was wondering if there is a simple way to handle key migration.

Ex. I have my personal Key1 which is good for 3 years, then after three years I have a new key (Key2). Is there a way to re-encrypt all emails in my inbox to key2 from key1?

I don't want to loose my email archive when I change keys, nor do I want to keep an ever growing list of private keys just so I can refer back to older emails.

I've been using Thunderbird on my Mac Pro (TB 102.11.0 64-bit) and recently some, but not all my messages are being downloaded. I could see that a few were on my server ok, but TB was just not downloading them all. Any hints on how to solve this?

Also as of some months ago, I also sometimes receive duplicate mails. I'm cautious about changing my profile because in the past when I tried some suggested problem solutions, I ended up losing a lot of mail which was a serious problem.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me through this...

So I have some problems with signing in to Thunderbird. At signing in with google, Google says that they found unusual activity on my account, even when I don't have bad activity. After trying to recover my account, it says that it can't sign me in to my Google account because of JavaScript not enabled. How do i fix this issue? Thanks!

I've been trying to log into my Gmail accounts on Thunderbird on my Windows machine, and each time I get that error message in the title. Google recognizes the account as signed into Thunderbird, and I had to go into the Google Account and sign out from an instance of each of my attempts. I made sure cookies are allowed, and using oauth2.

Not sure what to do here? Is anyone having the same issue?

Update: I just downloaded spark and logged in no problem. Also, the Thunderbird on my mac is logged in just fine.
