I set a primary password but I found I can just press cancel button and then go to my gmail and open it without any prompt to enter password first.

If my PC is stolen then any one can press cancel and open my email and other loged in sites

Usually Firefox keep the login info for almost all sites that we need to login! I have a site that i have to login periodically and it requires 3 fields to login! A user name A subscription key (password) and a third which is my VAT number! My Vat number i remember it and that's not a problem! But the other 2 fields i would like Firefox to remember them! I manually registered a login entry for that site but firefox gives me nothing when i enter the site? Any ideas why and how can i solve this problem? Thank you!

I am an 86 y/o programmer with poor eyesight. I wrote my first program in 1960 and am learning html,javascript,php and sqlite. I frequently want my browser to 'forget' but in 150% enlargement the forget window doesn't fit on my screen and if i scroll down on the page i lose the popup, so i have to back out to windows (10) set my viewing to 100% and do it over. Suggestion: reduce the size of the pop-up and put the 'forget' button on the top. Are all the little icons necessary? I cant change any of them. And is the time frame necessary? i always choose '24 hrs'. IMO you only need a 'really?' pop-up to the forget button push and then wipe it all out. I recently removed Firefox from my PC with the intention to reinstall it right away via the windows store, for the purpose of getting Firefox updates automatically.

However, I have been trying in the past few days to install the app and am running into the same error as the installation begins.

I deleted any reminiscence of Mozilla folders from my C drive and ran deep cleaning of cache files on my PC and nothing helps. Please help me resolve this issue, I would like to keep using Firefox...

I subscribe to a website called flat.io. It's a site where I can enter music notation and get playback through emulated instruments.

I want to connect my Yamaha MX88 music keyboard directly to flat.io in order to have the site software record my music keyboard keystrokes instead of entering music notes by hand. flat.io tells that you are compatible, but I need to change settings to allow midi.

scroll bars cover website-widgets (check boxes) (110.0.1 64-Bit)!! e.g., when trying to activate a checkbox at the right edge (Amazon, marking an item to cancel an order) that is not possible because the firefox scrollbar (right side) covers the Amazon checkbox, so it is impossible to mark it, and so the order cannot be cancelled!

This is an unacceptable malfunction!!

(OTOH, on MSEdge, the scrollbar sits to the right of the checkboxes without ever covering them, so it's obvious that this is specific Firefox malfunction!!!)

My email screen has gone to a larger page that will not fit on the computer screen, whether in full screen or partial, the inbox is pushed off the left side, and the email previews are so large they extend half the way across from the right side. Previously most of the center was for email lists, but now it is just a small part that will only show two or three emails. How can I change it back the the old format?

Firefox was running fine but few days ago, cannot get Firefox to start. Tried to uninstall, reinstall but didn't work. Tried uninstall, shutdown, reinstall and didn't work. Tried profile manager but it would not start so deleted the profile.ini file. Still won't start. When I look at Task manager, no processes for Firefox are running. Is there something else I should try to get working or should I just not use anymore?

I am running Firefox 111.0.1 on macOS 13.2.1. After upgrading to 111, Firefox's ability to remember per-site zoom settings seems to have disappeared. Based on my perusal of some previous issues with Firefox zoom levels, I tried changing the `browser.display.os-zoom-behavior` setting in `about:config` from `1` to `0`, but this has no effect. Is there some way to restore per-site zoom level retention? That was a really nice feature that I relied on quite a bit.

Windows11 Firefox 111.0.1 (64 bit) intermittently stops loading page while scrolling. Won't refresh or go back to previous page. No error message. Have to restart Firefox.

Even though I have the settings correct in the browser ('Open previous tabs and windows' checked under Startup in the General settings section), Firefox suddenly stopped doing this. I went to help and have tried everything suggested (for example, in this article -> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1365225) to no avail. I generally have to have at least a dozen tabs open at a time due to the nature of my work and it is time-consuming and frustrating to have to re-open the every time.

I have tried the 'restore previous session' under the History menu but that is not an option given. So that isn't working for me either. 'Recently closed tabs' is an option but is greyed out / doesn't work.

It is possible that this is a result of a recent update as Firefox has been almost daily been asking me to update. But I do not know how to go 'back' to last version if that is the case ... or how to turn off the annoying update messages.

So what is going on?

Is it FireFox, my NordVPN or PCMATIC that still lets me get thru to my normal websites as well as viewing other websites... OR is something that EPIC (the writers of the MYCHART) for FirstHealth.org and www.firsthealthmychart.org? Can anyone help? This is the ONLY website that will not work for 2 days so far.

After the last upgrade, Firefox no longer saves my password information even thought I always click "Save".

In my Privacy & Security - "Logins and Passwords" settings, I have it checked to autofill. I am not using Private Browsing and the only extension I have is DuckDuckGo. I tried to remove that extension and try again, but it still would not save.

What else to check?

I often look up links/webpages on my phone and then transfer them to Firefox to view later. In the past, when I opened a link in firefox, then dragged the link to a specific folder on the Bookmarks toolbar, it would display the header of the link as the "name" of it. Now, when I transfer a link to a folder on the Bookmarks toolbar, it always sets the URL of the link as the "name" of the bookmark. How do I make it so that when I drag a link to the bookmarks toolbar it saves with the header rather than the URL.

If this helps, I'm using MacOS most of the time.

I have physical limitations and need to use middle mouse button to scroll.

However, in Firefox, middle mouse button to scroll is interrupted whenever the mouse hovers over a hyperlink or linked object -- and, fun fact, there are A LOT of links on the Internet, so this equates to a very janky and sub-optimum experience, in my personal use-case.

How can I make it so that the middle mouse button functionality is not hijacked by mouse-over context? I've already tried/disabled middle-mouse-button-click-to-open-link-in-new-tab.
