how do I attach a document from Downloads to outgoing mail?

I am trying to work on a document that was e-mailed to me on MobileMe, which I accessed on the Firefox downloads site (tools--downloads). I cannot figure out how to get it out of the downloads folder and out to the documents folder so I can e-mail it as an attachment to a MobileMe mail document (or do anything else with it, except revise it in the Downloads site).
