Domain name email stopped working yesterday. My Comcast email is still working fine. Geek Squad cannot figure out why - other than its some sort of Thunderbird issue. I can still get the domain name emails if I specifically go to/through Outlook.

   Is this because Thunderbird only deals with POP or IMAP formats (no longer supported by microsoft as of 6-5-23) vs: microsofts 'newest thing' the EXCHANGE format?   Been getting emails from GoDaddy(my domain name host) for past month or so informing me of the change coming.  
  Had Geek Squad go through my email settings back on May 24 and then again May 25 (because of created glitches from may 24) via remote access from India(or someplace like).  This was done to be pro-active about the upcoming EXCHANGE format requirement.  Everything was 'supposed' to be fine - and appeared to be, until last night when I started getting pop-up messages stating:

"Login to account mail@briansb.com failed / Login to server outlook.office365.com with username mail@briansb.com failed" as well as "Login to account Comcast failed / Login to server smtp.comcast.net with username webx@comcast.net failed". So, is my theory correct that Thunderbird just doesn't have the programming needed for the EXCHANGE email format ? Can this be remedied or do I need to move on from Thunderbird? Any suggestions for an email program as close to what Windows Live Mail was? Brian webx@comcast.net

As of today (06.08.2023) I cannot access any of my emails hosted by Outlook.com through Thunderbird. Everything worked just fine yesterday when I left. The error I am getting is "Incorrect Password" even though I have double checked it and it is indeed correct. I can access my emails through the browser logging directly to Outlook.com just fine (ironically using the password which "does not work" in Thunderbird). I have not changed any settings. Does anybody else have the same problem? Thanks!

I have the latest version of firefox as of 6/8/23. I want to be able to click on a link and the + sign on the upper left webpage, (next to the tab) to open a new window, not a new tab. I have been able to do this since firefox was invented many years ago, but suddenly the option for that in settings appears to have disappared. When I uncheck the box in the tab section in settings, "open links in tabs instead of new windows", it is still opening links in tabs. Is there a way to stop the link from opening in a new tab, and instead open a window in a new browser any more? If not, I will be sad to switch over a browser that can still do this. Hopefully someone will provide a solution. While many online posts refer to a "options" button, I only see "settings" button (when I click on the three lines in the upper right).

In a new message in Thunderbird, when i insert a table of certain rows and width, then i start wring inside the table cell, i find that the width of the cell (of the Table) is constantly getting changed as I write. The width of the said cell should not change in first place, and i find that i am unable to adjust the cell width to my requirement. Please guide me. Thanks and Regards

A webpage has 1,200 rows.

I do Select All or drag the cursor from the first row to the last row to highlight all of the rows.

I then do Copy.

When I do Paste (using Match Destination Formatting) to paste the copied rows into an empty Excel spreadsheet, only about 65 rows get posted.

What am I doing wrong?

Firefox repeatedly crashes when attempting to play video or audio files of whatever type, in every web page.

I.e., just opening a YouTube page without playing the video is fine, but when I click on Play, it instantly crashes.

Hi, my email hosting company is retiring emails from the provider they took over from and I now have to buy a different service from my hosting company. The email address will remain the same though. The hosting company is saying that I need to add a new account, but to check in with Thunderbird to make sure that I won't lose the emails from the previous provider within the Thunderbird email client (depending on how things are set up). Please can you advise how I can best avoid email loss? Many thanks. Regards, Jason

Hello! I use this tab. Galaxy Tab A (2016), unfortunately it is not capable to safe files from Firefox, e.g. PDF files. Samsung browser is working but I like to use Firefox. Best regards Ted Ernhill

I had about 500 tabs on FF on my iphone open. The browser crashed and now all of those seem to be gone. "Recently Closed" is empty. Starting the browser just opens an empty page. I had sync turned one but oh magic the synced tabs pretty much immediately diappeared from the other devices as well. Any ideas how I might be able to recover those tabs? Could they still be saved somewhere on the iphone or in the cloud?

Hi - I'd like to turn off compacting for gmail accounts. It seems it often collides with whatever google is doing on their end, and it fails and asks to repeat. My other email is through privateemail.com and seems to work ok. Can this be done on an account basis? All are IMAP.

As a user of TB almost from the beginning, I am now embarrassed to say that my last computer, a MacBook, has been dying, and I didn’t really think or know how to back up my TB. In any case my back up machine fell and got broken and can’t be copied except for $1,500+ !! I have a second hand MacAir coming in two days. I want to be able to get all my TB program onto this MacAir. I still am a volunteer for a 13 year old charity scholarship program in Haiti and although I’m 85, I still have lots of work to do on computer—mainly news letters, and advertising for fundraising. So, if you can help me, I will be most pleased. I did find the YouTube coverage of how to transfer TB from one machine to another. A pro Mac company is going to help me rescue my TB from my dying MacBook and I want to give him all the help he can use. Oh and somehow I never saved my password for Thunderbird, my computer had it saved so I was able to use it. But now, not sure whether my TB on my old MacBook will also have the password saved.????? Firefox 114 introduced hidden support for nvidia video super resolution. In about:config you can enable preference gfx.webrender.super-resolution.nvidia to make it work. However I see 0 difference on all videos on all pages. I have everything in nvidia control panel set correctly (VSR enabled and set to 4/4 quality).

I tried using logic too - if this pref is related to webrenderer in its name maybe it is not working because I am not using webrenderer? However I checked about:support and in section graphics->composition I have "webrenderer" so it seems I am using it, but its VSR feature is not working at all.

I'm trying to configure equipment on my local network. Some of the equipment does NOT support https. Firefox continuously changes the address http://192.168.xxx.xxx to https://192.168.xxx.xxx, and the connection fails!

I have tried the various options in HTTP Only Mode, including entering Exceptions. I have also temporarily changed network.trr.mode from 5 to 1 (and 0), but nothing is working!

What can I do?

British Airways enable cookies page, essential cookies greyed out so can't log in. The other three cookie choices are live and ticked. This problem has been here for weeks - can anyone suggest what is wrong?

Can you suggest firefox browser settings that might be getting in my way? PNC bank suggested turning off my malwarebytes protection in order to use their site! Not an answer that makes sense to me.

I will also try to contact malwarebytes for their suggestions.

I updated. There was then supposed to be a 're-store session'. Didn't happen. And I'm not about to read a thousand pages of twaddle to find out why. Firefox actually just sucks. My tech installed it. I'm going back to Safari.
