Seemingly without any direct keyboard or mouse input all the items in the Inbox are moved to the Deleted folder. This has happened twice in the last month on my laptop, Thunderbird will be minimized to my taskbar and when opened up again after doing other tasks on the internet etc all the Inbox folder will be blank and will be in the Deleted folder.

why, on a regular basis, when I open Thunderbird does it show a "done" message or "Null" and not access the mail server...This results in my having to restart my desktop after which it then connects and down loads emails. I am happy with the Thunderbird mail set up and have donated twice... I am hesitant to donate again while this issue persists. Mark Morrissey 0439242139

Hello I am a long time user of Thunderbird, I am on the update channel, I am a retired technical support consultant so hopefully I have tried many of the obvious things. Nine times out of 10 if I send an email from Thunderbird mail to a Gmail address it gets rejected. Quite often if I try a second time it's okay but just recently it's been getting worse and this afternoon I tried about eight or nine tries and finally gave up. The problem is definitely a thunderbird problem as if I use other email clients or send mail from the ISP's website to a Gmail address this problem does not exist. Thank you in ADVANCE, Martin

I find the current address books really really difficult to use. Why three different books which seem incompatible? Whole groups appear and then just disappear at random! Trying to add names to a mailing group is a pain. I end up using 'Mail' in desperation sometimes. The previous system was infintely easier to use in every respect. Please can it be reinstated! I don't remember where/how I found them, have searched everywhere within the program and on my HD, I cannot find what happened to them. Linux Mint MATE 21.1 TB v 102.11.0 Looking for a way to have Thunderbird startup with it's window at particular screen location and size. Currently it has a fixed location and size every time I start it up. I have found no settings that allows me the change it. I could also settle with it remembering it's current settings at shutdown like Firefox does.

Missing Folders on Exchange Server

My email host (GoDaddy) just forced us to switch to Exchange server settings for email clients. As a result, I am now missing a bunch of folders. I know the folders still exist because I can see them when logging in through the web portal, but they are nowhere to be found in Thunderbird. When I first set out to switch to the Exchange settings in T-bird, it seemed to work fine until I restarted, at which point the email account disappeared completely. I then tried to add the email account again but got some error stating that the server already existed and wouldn't let me move forward. Figuring some settings were being stored somewhere I couldn't find, I decided to just do a fresh T-bird install. After the new install, when setting up the account I saw a note about T-bird not natviely supporting Exchange, and that I needed to install the Owl plugin. That seemed to work fine, and after adding the account I was able to see everything. However, when I restarted T-bird the account disappeared again, and I got the same "existing server" error keeping me from adding the account. Several reinstalls later, all with the same result, I dug a little more and found mentions of using the ExQuilla for Exchange plugin instead of Owl, so I took that route. That seemed to work, with the account able to be added, and sticking around after T-bird was shut down and restarted. However, the problem now is that I'm missing some (not all) folders. Previously, with the IMAP server setup, there was the option/functionality to "subscribe" to specific folders, but I don't see that now with the Exchange setup. Here's what I'm currently running:

OS: Windows 10 Home (22H2) Thunderbird version: 102.11.2 (64-bit) ExQuilla for Exchange version: 102.1 (updated May 27, 2023) - Trial version because I wanted to make sure it worked first

At this point if someone could either guide me how to find the missing folders using ExQuilla or let me know how to keep the account from disappearing using Owl I would be very grateful.

I want to offer a problem and solution. This information could be added to the help topic that includes the paragraph "What if I want to see my ignored threads?"

Problem: I accidentally ignored a subthread. How can I reverse that setting? Context: Thunderbird Version 102.11.2, Windows 10.

Solution: I right-clicked on the message in the message list pane. Although “ignore subthread” was not checked, I clicked it anyway. This toggled the setting to off. The information message bar disappeared and the symbol in column “Thread” reverted to normal.

Note: the tentative solution I picked up from the existing help topic did not work. I set View – Threads – I checked All and Ignored Threads. This changed nothing.

Now it is worse. Back then I discovered that if I added another view, TB would then get all the new messages for all accounts. By "adding a new view" I mean I normally run with Unified Folders. To get TB to download new messages I could "Add folders all" and the status bar would show TB was logging in to my accounts and downloading new messages. If both Unified and All folders were being viewed, I could just remove the All folders view and the downloads would execute. So that is the way I have been operating for 20 months. But now even that doesn't work! Nothing I do will cause TB to get new messages. To make things worse, if I do About Thunderbird it shows 102.9.1 (32 bit) but it also shows "Checking for updates" and that never completes. I just get the spinning circle for hours.

How can I restore the TB functionality on this Windows 8 tablet?
